Chapter 19 - CHAPTER 19: A REMINDER FROM MOTHER

Breaton and Olissa spent a week in St. Martin's, soaking up the island's sun-kissed beaches and vibrant culture. They explored the scenic coastline, visited historic sites, and indulged in delicious local cuisine.

Their days were filled with relaxation and adventure, from snorkeling in crystal-clear waters to strolling through the bustling markets. As they watched the sunset over the ocean, Breaton turned to Olissa and smiled, feeling grateful for the time they shared together.

"I'm so glad we did this," Olissa said, snuggling closer to Breaton. "It's the perfect getaway."

Breaton wrapped his arms around her, pulling her in. "Definitely. Let's do it again soon."

Just then, Olissa's phone rang, breaking the serene atmosphere. She glanced at the screen, her expression changing slightly. "I'm sorry, I need to take this," she said, getting up to answer the call. Breaton nodded, watching her walk a short distance away. He couldn't help but wonder who was on the other end of the call. Olissa's tone seemed serious, and her brow was furrowed in concern. As she talked, Breaton's mind began to wander. Who was she talking to? Was everything okay? He pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the beautiful view before him.

"Hello, Mother," Olissa said as she answered the phone.

"Hello, dear daughter. I'm calling to check on your progress. Has he gotten you pregnant yet?" Alexandria asked.

"No, Mother. It's only been nine days," Olissa replied with a frown.

"Why do you sound so upset, dear daughter?" Alexandria asked.

"I'm not upset, Mother. I just need time," Olissa said with a frown.

There was a pause on the other end of the line before Alexandria spoke again, "Olissa, you know what's at stake here. Don't forget what we discussed."

"I'm not going to forget, Mother," Olissa said, her voice firm but controlled. "But I need you to understand that this can't be rushed. Breaton is not just some random guy; he's a person, and I care about him."

"You care about him, dear daughter? Don't tell me that you have fallen in love with this man after being with him for only three days? You are a witch, and he is just a mortal man," Alexandria said with a frown.

"Mother, don't be ridiculous. I will stick to the plan. Don't worry," Olissa said before hanging up the phone.

As the phone call ended, Olissa felt a mix of relief and frustration. She walked back to Breaton, who was still gazing out at the view.

"Everything okay?" Breaton asked, noticing the look on her face.

Olissa forced a smile. "Yeah, everything's fine. Just family stuff."

Breaton nodded sympathetically. "Want to talk about it?"

Olissa hesitated, unsure how much to share. "Not really. Let's just enjoy the view, okay?"

Breaton smiled and wrapped his arm around her waist. "Sounds good to me."

As the night passed into the next day, Olissa and Breaton were buzzing with excitement. They packed their bags, loaded up their carnival gear, and headed to the airport for their short flight to Antigua and Barbuda.

As they prepared to leave Saint Martin, Breaton took a moment to say goodbye to his family.

His mother smiled and kissed his cheek. "Be safe, sweetie. Have fun in Antigua and Barbuda. Don't forget to wear sunscreen."

Breaton chuckled and nodded. "I won't, Mom. Promise." He then turned to his father, who shook his hand firmly. "Dad, take care of yourself while I'm away. I'll call you soon."

His father smiled. "You do the same, son. Enjoy the carnival and have a blast with Olissa."

As Breaton said goodbye to his family, his sister Ava gave him a tight hug. "I'm borrowing your jacket for a little while," she said with a grin.

Then Breaton's brothers, Joseph and David, who were both older than him, nodded in unison. "Have a blast, little bro," Joseph said, while David added, "Don't forget to bring back some carnival treats for us."

Breaton smiled and playfully rolled his eyes. "I'll see what I can find. Take care, guys. I'll catch up with you soon." With one last wave, he joined Olissa, and they headed to the airport, eager to start their carnival adventure in Antigua and Barbuda.

As Breaton and Olissa embark on their vibrant island-hopping adventure, immersing themselves in the rich cultural heritage of the Caribbean. They dance through Antigua's Carnival, covered in paint and glitter, the infectious rhythms and colorful costumes leaving them breathless. In Nevis, they savor the intimate Culturama, sharing moments with friendly locals and enjoying the island's serene atmosphere.

In Grenada, they dive into the raw energy of Spicemas, joining a Jab Jab band and letting loose to primal rhythms that pulse through the streets. They marvel at the elaborate costumes of the Fancy Mas parade, a dazzling display of feathers, sequins, and jewels that shimmer in the sunlight.

Next, they head to Barbados for Crop Over, where they groove to soca music, dancing through the night with thousands of revelers. They join a mas band, donning vibrant costumes and performing on the streets, feeling the rush of excitement as they cross the stage on the Mighty Grynner Highway.

Finally, their journey concludes with the serene La Rose Flower Festival in Saint Lucia, a world away from the chaotic energy of carnival. They witness a traditional celebration of community and heritage, watching in awe as "La Rose" members dressed in red and white pay homage to the rose. The experience leaves them feeling peaceful, reflecting on the unforgettable memories they've made across the Caribbean. Through their experiences, they're left with a deep appreciation for the region's diverse cultures, a testament to the vibrant spirit that defines the islands.

"I have never had this much fun in my life," Olissa said, smiling at Breaton.

Breaton's eyes crinkled at the corners as he grinned back at Olissa. "Me neither," he agreed, his voice filled with the same excitement and joy. Together, they laughed and danced, lost in the vibrant rhythms and colors of the Caribbean festivals. The music swirled around them, a kaleidoscope of sounds and emotions that only seemed to bring them closer together. As the night wore on, their smiles never faltered, their hearts full of the magic of the moment.

"It's a pity we have to go back home to Celestian tomorrow," Breaton said with a frown.

Olissa nodded sympathetically, her eyes mirroring Breaton's disappointment. "I know, I don't want to leave this magic behind," she said, gazing out at the turquoise sea. "But we'll always have the memories of this trip," she added, smiling softly at Breaton.

He smiled back, feeling a little better. "And who knows, maybe we'll plan another adventure soon," he said, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

Olissa's face lit up at the idea, and together they started brainstorming possibilities for their next escapade.
