Chapter 23 - CHAPTER 23: THE MYSTERIOUS FIGURE

Breaton's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in determination. "You're not going to keep Merry here against her will," he growled, his vampire fangs bared.

Fi-Six leaned back in his chair, a sly smile spreading across his face. "Oh, but I think I am. You see, Merry is carrying your child, and as the demon king, it's my duty to protect my kin. She's not going anywhere."

Merry's eyes locked onto Breaton's, a mix of emotions swirling within her. She wanted to be with Breaton, but she also felt a sense of safety and protection with Fi-Six.

Olissa's eyes darted between Breaton and Fi-Six, her mind racing with thoughts. She knew she had to tread carefully, considering her own secret.

Ket Shi Kong stepped forward, her voice dripping with venom. "You'd do well to remember your place, Breaton. Fi-Six is offering you a chance to work together. Refuse, and... well, let's just say you won't be leaving this mansion alive."

Breaton's gaze locked onto Ket Shi Kong, his eyes flashing with anger. "You're enjoying this, aren't you? Watching me squirm."

"My quarrel is not with you, Breaton, but you're in the way, and I don't understand why. You're being used by the coven of lock-loopers; you're nothing more than a puppet on a string," Ket Shi Kong said, rolling her eyes.

Breaton's face darkened at the accusation. "What is this coven that you speak of?" he growled, taking a step forward.

Fi-Six started laughing. "Why don't you ask the daughter of Alexandria? Or I have a better idea: kill her, pledge your allegiance to me, and I'll tell you everything you want to know, demon King's honor." He said this as he raised two fingers to the air.

Olissa shuddered at what Fi-Six said; she took five steps back, subconsciously holding her stomach.

Breaton's eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed intently on Fi-Six. "You expect me to believe you'll just hand over information like that?" he asked, his voice laced with skepticism.

Fi-Six's smile grew wider. "Oh, I assure you, Breaton, I'm a man of my word. Well I'm a demon but you get the point. Kill her then Pledge your allegiance to me, and you'll be rewarded with knowledge beyond your wildest dreams."

Ket Shi Kong stepped forward, a calculating glint in her eye. "Think about it, Breaton. With Fi-Six's power and influence, you could gain the upper hand in this game. It's a risk worth taking."

Olissa's eyes widened in surprise. "Ket Shi Kong, how can you encourage him to make a deal with Fi-Six?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.

Ket Shi Kong's gaze flicked to Olissa, her expression unreadable. "Sometimes, alliances must be forged with those we don't entirely trust. It's the nature of the world we live in, after all."

Breaton's eyes locked onto Fi-Six, weighing his options.

"Breaton, you may not want to believe me, but my blood is in you, so that would make you my kin as well," Fi-Six said with a sneer.

"I have a better idea: how about I kill you," Buveur said, jumping out of Breaton's body.

"There's two of you now?" Fi-Six asked in confusion. "No, wait, you are different. I don't sense any demon blood in you. You're a vampire. But you look just like Breaton," he said, narrowing his eyes.

"Allow me to introduce myself: my name is Buveur de Sang, but you can call me Buveur," he said as he took a little bow.

"I am done entertaining this. We're doing so much talking, and it's getting irritating. Asdem, kill Breaton and the other guy, and bring Alexandria's daughter to me," Fi-Six said with a frown.

"Yes, my Lord, as you wish," Asdem said, then walked in front of Breaton and Buveur and took a fighting stance.

Seeing what was going on, Merry tried to break free from Leann and Bella's grip; she wanted to go to Breaton's side.

As Merry was about to break free, Ket Shi Kong delivered a swift chop to her neck, knocking her out cold. Bella and Leann, who had been holding Merry back, stumbled backward, momentarily caught off guard.

Just then, the fight between Asdem and Buveur began. The two combatants clashed in a flurry of punches and kicks, their movements lightning-fast and deadly.

Breaton's eyes widened in concern as he watched Merry crumple to the ground. "Merry!" he shouted, but he was unable to move, pinned in place by Fi-Six's gaze.

Fi-Six's eyes gleamed with interest as he watched the battle unfold. "This should be entertaining," he murmured, his voice dripping with amusement.

The room erupted into chaos as Asdem and Buveur exchanged blows, their fight a blur of motion and sound.

Breaton, take Olissa and run! This is a fight we can't win, run!" Buveur shouted.

"Trying to run away? There is no escape. Come to me, my shadow guards, surround them," Fi-Six said with a sneer.

As Fi-Six's shadow guards closed in, Buveur positioned himself protectively in front of Breaton and Olissa. I'll hold them off," he growled, his eyes scanning the surrounding figures.

Breaton nodded, his grip on Olissa's hand tightening. "Let's go," he whispered, and the trio made a desperate dash through the crowd.

But Fi-Six's guards were relentless, pushing them back with ruthless efficiency. Buveur fought valiantly, but he was vastly outnumbered.

Just when it seemed like all hope was lost, a figure emerged from the shadows, striking down the guards with swift precision. "Need a hand?" he asked, turning to face Buveur.

Breaton's eyes widened in surprise. "Who are you?" he demanded.

The figure smiled, their eyes glinting in the dim light. "Someone who's been watching you, Breaton. And I think it's time we had a talk."

Fi-Six's face turned red with rage. "Hey, who the f*ck do you think you are?" he shouted, but the man ignored him, focusing on Breaton and the others.

"It is so noisy in here. Let's talk somewhere else," the man said, snapping his fingers. "Time dilation, all time come to a halt."

As he spoke, the world around them seemed to freeze. Breaton, Olissa, Buveur, and the man vanished into thin air, leaving Fi-Six and his guards staring at the empty space in confusion.

Fi-Six's eyes bulged with fury. "What just happened? Find them!" he bellowed, but it was too late. The mysterious man had disappeared with his targets.

The frozen world around them began to stir, unaware of the brief moment of time dilation. But Fi-Six knew that he had just been outmaneuvered, and he vowed to make the mysterious man pay for his interference

Unbeknownst to Fi-Six, the mysterious man was no ordinary being. He possessed powers beyond the understanding of mortals, and his true nature was shrouded in mystery.
