Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 - Taijutsu 2

'Of course!'

"GRRN... HAAAH.... HAAAH... BLURGH..." Sabuko panted under the early morning light.

'There was no rule saying I had to train only under the Jōnin directly supervising me.'

Step, step. Pant, pant. Sabuko could've sworn it rained from how wet he felt.

'Naruto could've walked up to practically any Jōnin in Konoha and asked them to teach him something. He could've used every specialist in the village as a crutch!'

"HAAAH... Haaah..." His voice cracked.

'Although...'

"COME ON, YOUNG SABUKO! SHOW ME YOUR YOUTH! JUST FIFTY MORE LAPS AROUND THE FIELD!"

'I FUCKING WISH THERE WAS A RULE AGAINST THIS!'

"I HA.... THOUGHT.... HAAAAH.... YOU'LL TEACH... TE MAIJUTSU..."

"HOOOO!!!" Guy's eyes glistened.

"You've trained so hard now, your words come out jumbled!! This is when you know you're using your youth to its fullest!!!" He patted Sabuko's back.

"UGH..." Sabuko groaned as he collapsed on the ground, face-first into the dirt.

Guy stood next to him.

"To throw a punch, Sabuko!" Guy started.

Sabuko looked up from the dirt while panting against it, dust particles flying in the opposite directions.

"You need the stamina to throw a punch, first!" He pointed upward to the early-morning sun, "Only then can we get to the basics! That's how I trained Lee, my STAR PUPIL!"

"Haa...!! I...!" Sabuko groaned.

"?" Might Guy looked down at him.

"I... DON'T HAVE TIME... TO TRAIN MY STAMINA! I NEED... AN..." He gulped, his fist tightening. "An acceptable level... Of Taijutsu... By the end of this week!"

"Sabuko," Guy kneeled, placing his hand on Sabuko's shoulder, "I understand as your spontaneous youthful teacher. I can see your spirit!" His tone suddenly softened.

"But you mustn't underestimate—"

"I'LL BE HOMELESS! FUCK!!" He screamed against the ground as he slammed his fist in the dirt.

"..!!" Guy narrowed his eyes.

'Fuck this... I'm too tired to think straight.'

"I... Live with... A ninja family... They... Let me stay... If I'm... A Genin!" Sabuko pushed himself up while panting.

"I need housing... If I wanna... Make my dream a reality..!" He looked up at Guy, "Teach me... TAIJUTSU... JUMPING... ANYTHING...!!"

Sabuko gulped.

"... Young man, I—"

"IF IT... Makes you happy," Sabuko cut him off, "I'll do all the endurance... exercises with you... AFTER I BECOME A GENIN!" He growled as he looked up into Guy's eyes.

"...."

Guy then smiled.

"SABUKO."

He said.

'Not another fucking lecture!'

"MEN HONOR THEIR PROMISES!" He took his hand into his, "YOU'VE PROMISED TO SURRENDER YOUR BODY INTO ENDURANCE TRAINING!"

'Eh?'

"IF THAT'S THE CASE, I HAVE NO REASON TO REFUSE! LET US LEVEL UP YOUR YOUTHFULLY LACKING TAIJUTSU!!!"

"A-ah... yeah."

'... Why does it feel like I sold my body to a pimp?'

"BUT..." Guy stood up and looked at Sabuko's eyes.

"I'll be blunt, Sabuko." His tone got firmer, "By the end of this week, that's still impossible." He shook his head.

"...."

"If we had three weeks of nonstop training," He looked up, scratching his chin as he began to pace, "Maybe you'd have a sliver of a shot. But—"

"In other words," Sabuko cut him off, his expression unreadable.

"I only have to train three to four times as hard as you'd normally train someone in a single week?"

Guy's eyes glowed.

'SUCH YOUTHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO-NONONono wait, calm down, Guy!' He shook his head, 'Don't get pulled into that beautiful, beastly, manly youthful spirit senselessly.'

"Young man, I have no problem with that request! NONE!" Guy started, "But your body," He said.

"Your body will not be able to endure it," Guy said firmly.

"You're still undertrained. Even if you pushed yourself to your absolute limit, you can't properly drill your punches, kicks, footwork, and balance all at once. Not in a single week. We'd need to train each of them separately if you want even a sliver of a chance."

Sabuko inhaled.

'Time to rip off yet another idea from the protagonist.'

"... That," Sabuko started as he did the Tora hand sign.

"!?" Guy narrowed his eyes.

"Won't be a problem."

"SHADOW CLONE JUTSU!"

'Did this youth just say Shadow—'

POOF.

POOF.

POOF.

Three identical clones of Sabuko appeared before Guy.

"Guy-sensei," Sabuko said, looking between his clones. "Now I can train punches, kicks, footwork... all of it at the same time."

His grin widened.

"I can cram weeks of training into one."

But Guy just died.

A fountain of blood leaving his nose as he foamed with a huge smile on his face.

"S... Sensei?"

---- Some time later ----

Guy is seen standing with several bandages wrapped into his nostrils, trying his hardest to contain his smile.

"Since I'll soon have to leave to train with my team, and since we spent most of the morning running, I want to see your current level before we end this session." He said, his arms folded.

'... It's hard to take him seriously,' Sabuko thought as he looked at him, 'When he looks like that.'

"ALL YOU FOUR SABUKOS!" He spread his arms, "COME AT ME YOUTHFULLY!"

Sabuko readied his stance.

'But this guy... Is arguably the strongest Jonin in Konoha.'

Sabuko tensed all his muscles.

'And I'm learning directly from him!'

Sabuko smiled, 'I'll get whatever I can from him today. Keep standing for as long as possible!'

"LET'S GOO!!!" The Sabukos all sprinted at him.

DING.

"Haaah!" Might Guy exhaled as Sabuko lay beaten on the ground, already walking away, "I apologize! I really did run out of time today!"

'... I didn't even notice when I hit the ground...'

He couldn't move a single muscle. Every one of them screamed anyway.

'Whole body hurts...'

"USE TOMORROW TO REST, YOUNG SABUKO!" Guy shouted as he waved him off casually.

'GUY! You were almost pulled in by that sensational youthful beast!' He exhaled via his nostrils, his bandages popping out as he walked away with his eyes closed firmly.

But blood still trickled.

'But using Shadow Clones to train on multiple things at once... What a youthfully brilliant idea!' He started drooling.

'I wonder how strong Lee would become if—NONONONO, GUY-SENSEI!' He smacked his own face.

Blood trickled even more.

'Shadow Clone is too dangerous a technique for just anyone to use! Besides, he's terrible at Ninjutsu!'

Guy opened his eyes, muscles loosening.

His blood stopped trickling down as he thought of Sabuko again.

'But his foundations are nonexistent. I only have a week with him, and after pushing himself this hard while using Shadow Clones, he'll need at least a day or two just to recover.'

Guy's eyes narrowed.

'That's the problem with his youthful idea. Shadow Clones multiply the training, but they multiply the exhaustion too. An undertrained body can't keep absorbing that much punishment.'

"AHHH! HOW UNFORTUNATE! I AM FRUSTRATED!" Guy yelled, startling Lee and Tenten.

"SENSEI!?" Tenten yelped.

"IS EVERYTHING ALL RIGHT, GUY-SENSEI!" Lee stiffened.

Neji didn't care.

--- THE NEXT DAY ---

Knock knock.

"Hm..?" Guy opened his door. The sun was still nowhere to be seen.

'!!!'

"Sensei," A low voice spoke, "Train me today, too."

Guy immediately kneeled.

"I appreciate your resolve!" He said, placing his hands on Sabuko's shoulders, "But you need to rest today—"

Squeeze.

'?'

Guy squeezed his arms again.

"I can train, S-...Sensei."

He then squeezed his abdomen.

'What is he..'

Then his legs.

"S-... Sensei..?" Sabuko stuttered with a blush.

Guy's eyes widened.

'I can feel it...' Guy thought, gulping. 'His muscles have already recovered! It hasn't even been a day...!'

A wide smile spread across his face.

"Guy-Sensei?"

But Guy died again.

'...'
