Chapter 2: Draxon's Restlessness and an Unsolved Mystery
The darkness of the night was intensifying Draxon's restlessness. The faint light of the moon was filtering through the slanted walls, but Draxon's mind was lost in the darkness.
Old Kaifon's last words were echoing in his mind—
"ShadowRix... the last heir... that Sword..."
Every word was stirring a new turmoil in his mind, as if the smoke of the mystery had seeped into him. Draxon's mind was repeatedly stuck on the same question—
"Was Old Kaifon telling the truth... am I really the heir of that mysterious power? Am I... worthy of it?"
Every time this question arose in his mind, he became even more entangled. A strange uneasiness and fear had settled in his heart. His mind was trapped in a labyrinth, and he could not find a way out.
"Who were those people who attacked me? What did they want from me? I must find out the truth!"
Draxon (lifting his head in the darkness) - "If I fail to unravel this mystery... will my life be wasted?"
His face bore deep concern and anxiety, as if he had staked his entire identity and future.
"What will happen if I am unable to discover this mystery? Will I have to live in this darkness forever?"
There was a cacophony of such questions in his mind, and every question was deepening his situation even more. But Draxon had decided that he would solve this mystery at any cost. However, he realized that he could not do all this alone.
Therefore, he decided that he would share everything with his closest friend, Kevin. He hoped that his friend would not leave him alone, just as he had always been by his side.
At Kevin's House
Draxon reached Kevin's house with hurried steps, as if there was a burden in his heart that he could no longer hide.
As soon as Kevin saw him, he asked in a worried tone—
"Draxon! What happened, my friend... why do you look so troubled?"
It was clearly visible from Draxon's face that something was bothering him.
Kevin supported him and made him sit on the nearby sofa and said in a concerned voice—
"Draxon, seeing you like this is making my heart anxious. Tell me clearly, what has happened?"
Draxon (slowly, taking a deep breath) - "Kevin, what I am about to tell you now is not just one thing... it is the biggest mystery of my life.
But promise me that this will stay only between us."
Kevin (breathing heavily): "Draxon, my friend! I promise I will not tell anyone."
After that, Draxon told Kevin everything—what had happened to him, Old Kaifon's last words, the mystery of the ShadowRix Sword, and even about the attack on him.
Kevin (in a stunned tone) - "Draxon... hearing all this has given me goosebumps. This is no ordinary story, this seems like... a big mystery connected to history!"
Draxon (slowly, taking a deep breath) - "I know, Kevin, that's why I knocked on your door first."
Kevin (breathing heavily) - "I am also curious to know this truth, and I will help you."
Draxon (in distress and restlessness) -
"Kevin, I cannot understand... who was this Old Kaifon? How did he know all this? And that sword... 'ShadowRix'... why does this name shake me to my core?"
"And those people who attacked me... do they know who I am?"
DarkZael Moves: The Pursuit Of Legacy
At the same time, while Draxon was sharing his concerns with Kevin, far away in a secret fortress, DarkZael's spies reached him.
Spy (breathing heavily): "Chief! Old Kaifon is no longer in this world. Before dying, he was seen with a young man—Draxon.
Is it possible that he is the heir?"
DarkZael (narrowing his eyes): "Quite possible... if he is indeed the true heir, he could become the biggest thorn in my path."
Spy (breathing heavily): "We scoured the dust of the streets, chased him across rooftops... but that boy vanished from our sight like a shadow."
Hearing this, DarkZael smiled and said—
"We don't need to search for him... people who are after their legacy end up getting caught in our traps while seeking clues themselves."
Spy (in a sharp voice):
"We looked under every book, every chest, every stone... but the map seems to have disappeared into thin air... and the information we got from the books was already known to us."
DarkZael (smiling slowly, eyes half-closed):
"We arrived late... and Old Kaifon was clever. Surely, he hid the map in a safe place before we got there.
Now that he is gone, all his knowledge is buried within that map."
Spy (worriedly):
"But Chief! How will we find that map now? Where do we start?"
DarkZael (getting up from his chair, in a serious tone):
"We don't have to search on our own... the heir is always pulled by his own legacy.
If that Draxon is the true heir,
he will definitely return to Old Kaifon's house... in search of that sword which can change his fate."
Spy (bowing, awaiting orders):
"Then give the order, Chief! What should we do?"
DarkZael (with a mysterious smile):
"Old Kaifon's house will now become a trap. Disguise yourselves, keep your eyes fixed, and the moment that boy appears... I want to know his every move."
Journey of Draxon and Kevin
While DarkZael was weaving his sinister plans, Draxon and Kevin made the decision to find Old Kaifon's house.
But there was one major problem—they had no idea where Old Kaifon's house actually was. And now, this search had become their greatest challenge.
Kevin (anxiously, in a hurried tone):
"Draxon! What are we going to do now? We don't even know where Old Kaifon's house is! What if we head in the wrong direction...?"
Just then, a faint memory sparked in Draxon's mind.
He remembered that Old Kaifon had something written on his hand, which he had overlooked at the time. Now, that clue flashed vividly before his eyes.
Draxon (with a strange glimmer in his eyes, speaking softly):
"Kevin, that day, when I met Old Kaifon, I noticed something unusual written on his hand—
'My home... in the heart of the city... near an old wooden shop.'
I think that might be his house."
Kevin (with excitement, as if a new ray of hope had dawned):
"You're right, Draxon! There's only one old wooden shop in this city, and that could point us in the right direction.
We just have to go there!"
But little did they know...
Old Kaifon's house was no longer abandoned. DarkZael's spies had already fixed their eyes on it like shadows lurking in the dark.
Draxon and Kevin decided they would sneak through the darkness of the night, when every alley was silent, and the eyes of the city were lost in slumber.
Night slowly began to cloak the city with its dark veil. There was silence all around, and only the faint white glow of the moon touched the stones of the alley.
Draxon and Kevin crept down the desolate alley, where even the slightest sound of their footsteps seemed to echo sharply.
Upon reaching Old Kaifon's house, they quickly scanned the surroundings, and without a sound, they pushed the door open and slipped inside.
They entered a room covered in dust, its walls cracked with the passage of time. In the corner stood a heavy wooden cabinet—its contents were ancient books and yellowed papers, peeking through like forgotten secrets.
The room was draped in darkness. Every breath felt like it might shatter the silence.
But Kevin had brought a torch with him.
As soon as the light spread through the room, Draxon and Kevin's eyes widened in disbelief—
The sight before them was so shocking that, for a moment, they could hear only the sound of their own breath.
:- But will this thing reveal the answers to Draxon's questions, or will it plunge him deeper into mystery?
:- Can Kevin and Draxon escape the enigma, or will DarkZael's shadow already be closing in on them?
Find out in...
