Inside the small cottage, the air was quiet except for the soft sounds of rain tapping on the windows. Shen Yi sat on the edge of the couch, his head lowered in concentration as he gently dabbed antiseptic on Jiang Qi's arm. The wound was quite deep, but Jiang Qi didn't even flinch. Instead, he was smiling, not because he was enjoying the pain, no, the way he was staring at Shen Yi said something else entirely.
His intense gaze lingered, like he was trying to see through Shen Yi's soul.
"Don't ever do that again," Shen Yi said as he finished wrapping the bandage. His voice was low but firm, and when he looked up, their eyes met.
Jiang Qi tilted his head and let out a soft chuckle. "What? Are you that scared of being kissed again?"
Shen Yi closed his eyes slowly, as if trying to figure out what exactly was going on in this man's head. He opened them with a sigh and pointed directly at the bandaged arm.
"Don't get yourself hurt for others."
