Chapter 17 - Morning Hormones

Back in the city, at the Jiang ancestral home, the atmosphere was tense. Xu Bo and Yao Zhen were kneeling stiffly on the floor, their heads lowered in front of a middle-aged man dressed in a black suit. Behind him stood two tall, expressionless bodyguards, their presence adding weight to the already heavy silence.

The man in black, Jiang Lei, stood with both hands behind his back, his sharp eyes flickering between the two men in front of him. His facial features bore a striking resemblance to Jiang Qi, though time had hardened his expression, and there was no trace of softness in his gaze.

He began pacing slowly, his footsteps echoing in the large hall as he asked in a calm but icy voice, "What you are trying to tell me is… my son has gone missing?"

Yao Zhen, always the first to panic, shot his head up and quickly said, "No, Old Master, he ran away again!"
