Chapter 14 - 14

Norman Osborn frowned deeply, looking at Ron standing in front of him.

The test subject Dr. Stromm found was Ron?

"Dr. Stromm, I asked you to find a test subject, but why did you bring Harry's good friend, Ron?"

Norman frowned, his expression somewhat complex, as he looked at Ron standing before him.

Ron was his son Harry Osborn's friend and a classmate from the same school. He had even seen Ron two days ago when he dropped Harry off at Columbia University.

That day, Ron congratulated him, saying that Osborn Industries would surely surpass Stark Industries in the future, which made him very happy.

Given that Ron was such a smooth talker and Harry's friend, Norman Osborn was somewhat reluctant to let Ron be the test subject.

"Mr. Osborn, I didn't know Ron was Harry's friend either."

Dr. Stromm felt a bit wronged. He had asked someone else to help him find a test subject; how was he supposed to know Ron was Harry's good friend?

"Mr. Osborn, I voluntarily came to Osborn Industries to be a human test subject. You don't need to blame Dr. Stromm."

At this moment, Ron, who was standing to the side, finally spoke up and explained to Norman Osborn.

Ron had found Osborn Industries himself. These past two days, besides observing Peter's changes, he had also been keeping an eye on information regarding Osborn Industries.

After learning that Osborn Industries was looking for human test subjects, Ron went directly to Osborn Industries and replaced the person who was originally scheduled for the human experiment.

Ron didn't want to directly acquire Norman Osborn's human enhancement serum through violent means. The reason he used this method to approach Norman Osborn was that Norman Osborn still had many uses for him, and there was no need to antagonize him.

Since he could obtain the human enhancement serum through the simplest means, why would Ron do something that harms others for his own benefit?

Ron believed that he wouldn't be a good person, but he wouldn't become a bad person either.

The identities of good people and bad people were too complicated for Ron; Ron still preferred the chaotic neutral alignment, to be a simple free man.

If others don't offend me, I won't offend them!

Looking at Norman Osborn's dissatisfied expression, Ron had a preliminary definition of the Norman Osborn standing in front of him.

Different versions of Norman Osborn actually had some differences. The current Norman Osborn should not be the one from the comics who could kill a dog with his own hands as a child, but rather the Norman Osborn from the Spider-Man trilogy who was a decent person, just with a somewhat strong personality.

"Mr. Osborn, you should have heard from Harry that I suffer from a hereditary disease that runs in my family. My body has been weak since childhood, and if I don't get timely treatment, I will die by the age of 40 at most. So, I came to Osborn Industries to be a human test subject, also to cure my hereditary disease!"

Knowing that Norman was somewhat reluctant to have him as a test subject, Ron organized his words and subtly added some of his mental suggestions, convincing Norman.

Ron's mental power was strong. Not to mention Norman was only a bit unwilling, even if Norman had been firmly against Ron being the test subject, Ron could still make him agree.

So, after listening to Ron's words, Norman nodded and readily agreed.

"Alright, Ron, since you put it that way, I won't stop you. Dr. Stromm, let's begin the experiment..."

...In the following time, Dr. Stromm briefly explained the properties of the human enhancement serum to Ron, then took Ron to a sealed laboratory, preparing to begin the vaporization and inhalation experiment of the human enhancement serum.

Ron's lips curved into a faint smile as he watched Norman Osborn and Dr. Stromm calmly conducting the experiment.

Experiments require a physical examination. Ron's current body was incredibly strong, and if Norman and Dr. Stromm knew his true physical condition, they would certainly become suspicious. So Ron had long ago used his mental power to influence Norman and Dr. Stromm's perception, making them overlook Ron's powerful body and believe that Ron was still an ordinary person.

This way, the experiment could proceed without any problems.

Looking at the white mouse that had already undergone human experimentation, not far from him, with his mental power, Ron secretly shook his head.

Although the condition of this white mouse appeared calm on the surface, in reality, tendencies towards violence and aggression had already begun to brew in its mind.

This indicated that Dr. Stromm's re-engineered human enhancement serum was still unsuccessful; it had only slightly delayed the onset of the original human enhancement serum's side effects.

However, Ron wasn't worried at all about the human enhancement serum having any negative effects on him.

Ron's mental power was strong, and he possessed the Singularity, the universe's initial form. Even if the human enhancement serum had the side effect of making people violent and aggressive, it would have no effect on Ron, who possessed the Singularity and powerful mental strength.

Moreover, Ron actually didn't intend to use all of the human enhancement serum to strengthen his body; instead, he planned to use most of it to enhance his mental power!

Ron's body was already strong enough. What he needed most was to strengthen the Singularity in his sea of consciousness. Only when the Singularity grew stronger could Ron become even more powerful.

After all, no matter how strong Ron's body became, it couldn't compare to the Hulk, whose physical strength could grow infinitely. His primary direction of power must be to strengthen his Singularity, not to strengthen his body.

Once Ron's mental power reached a certain level, he wouldn't even need a human body to contain him; he could simply rely on his mental power to exist freely in the universe.

After the human enhancement serum was vaporized, Ron began to absorb the vaporized human enhancement serum with the Singularity in his sea of consciousness.

The Singularity in Ron's sea of consciousness successfully grew from its previous observable size of one centimeter to an observable size of about ten meters!

Indeed, after the mutated spider's venom lost its effect, the human enhancement serum was still useful for the Singularity.

Ron knew that the Singularity was not actually absorbing the true human enhancement serum, but rather the combination of substances within the human enhancement serum that could make a person stronger!

This combination of substances that could make a person stronger was what the Singularity truly needed.

The Singularity's goal was to become a universe, and for a universe, something that could make people stronger out of thin air was an extremely rare treasure.

And after Ron's experiment concluded, the previously calm white mouse also successfully exhibited tendencies of violence and aggression, becoming agitated.

Seeing this, Ron gave a wry smile and sighed softly.

"Heh... It seems I'll have to play the role of the irritable Green Goblin next..."

...Subsequently, Ron, who was fixed to the experimental equipment, suddenly erupted, destroying everything around him with his fists, allowing Norman Osborn and Dr. Stromm to see exactly how their human enhancement serum research had failed!
