Chapter 29 - 29

Not long ago, in Washington, D.C., at the Triskelion building.

Nick Fury stood in front of a large array of newly transmitted virtual screens, his single right eye quickly scanning all the surveillance footage displayed on them, a look of confusion on his face.

This was already surveillance of the entire Harlem area. Through the footage, Fury could clearly see the two three to four-meter-tall behemoths chasing each other and fighting, but he couldn't find the black-clad man Coulson had just mentioned!

Not only that, he hadn't found the black-clad man, and even the guy in the red Daredevil suit that Coulson had mentioned earlier was nowhere to be seen.

'This damn surveillance system, the footage is transmitting so slowly. I'll replace you sooner or later!'

This situation greatly annoyed Fury. He cursed under his breath, then spoke into his earpiece, continuing his conversation with Coulson.

"Coulson, what's the situation on site? I can't find the black-clad man you mentioned or the guy in the Daredevil suit!"

"Director, I can't find the black-clad man who just appeared either. After he flew over, he immediately took the guy in the Daredevil suit and vanished in a flash. I have no idea where they went!"

On the other end, Coulson looked in the direction the black-clad man had flown, a wry smile on his face.

Coulson wasn't lying. He saw the black-clad man arrive at the spot where Abomination and the guy in the Daredevil suit were fighting for less than a second before the black-clad man took the guy and flew away at an incredibly fast speed. He couldn't see where the black-clad man had flown to at all.

"Director, did your surveillance also fail to find where those two guys went?" Coulson asked, puzzled.

"That's right, those two guys must have hidden inside a building and are no longer within surveillance range." Fury scanned the virtual screens again and said, "Coulson, you must have seen quite a bit. Tell me in detail what abilities those two guys possess."

"Yes, Director. Based on my initial observation, I found that the guy in the Daredevil suit who appeared earlier should possess superhuman strength, an extremely agile body, and the ability to shoot strong, tough webbing. Due to insufficient data, it's unclear if he has other abilities for now. As for the black-clad man who appeared later…"

At this point, Coulson paused, then continued.

"I only saw the black-clad man use one ability: he can fly in mid-air and can also carry others while flying. I suspect that this black-clad man is very likely a mutant with powerful telekinesis!"

"A mutant with telekinesis?" Director Fury furrowed his dark brows and continued to ask, "Any other discoveries?"

"Not for now…" Coulson said.

At this moment, Coulson turned his head, wanting to check on the two monsters again, only to find that the military helicopter had actually been grabbed by the two monsters and was shaking violently.

Coulson had received intel earlier and knew that General Ross was on that helicopter. And judging by the helicopter's out-of-control state, General Ross inside was very likely to perish!

Watching the helicopter plummet towards the ground, Coulson was about to report this to Fury on the phone, but before he could even open his mouth, he suddenly froze again.

He saw that the helicopter, which was about to crash into the ground, suddenly stabilized in mid-air, slowly descending to the ground without suffering any impact.

Coulson had excellent eyesight. He saw a black-clad man suddenly appear above the out-of-control helicopter. Although he couldn't see him very clearly, Coulson was certain that this black-clad man was the same one he had seen before!

Seeing this, Coulson quickly told Fury.

"Director, quickly look at the surveillance! The black-clad man from before has appeared again! He saved that out-of-control helicopter! Director, do you see him now?"

On the other end of the phone, Nick Fury heard what Coulson said, and his single right eye immediately focused on the virtual screen, following the helicopter's perspective, finally seeing the black-clad man Coulson had mentioned earlier.

Looking at the black-clad man standing in the air as if on solid ground, Nick Fury's eyes sharpened.

"Hill, search all data related to this black-clad man for me. I want to know exactly who this black-clad man is, what his name is, where he lives, all information related to this guy!"

Fury looked to the other side and spoke to Agent Maria Hill there.

"Understood, Director Fury!" Agent Hill nodded and began instructing her subordinates to search for information about the black-clad man.

S.H.I.E.L.D., as a super agency in the United States that surpasses the intelligence centers like the C.I.A., the F.B.I., the N.S.A., and other departments, possesses extremely high authority. It can not only access surveillance from most parts of the world but also query data, behavioral information, and so on for most people globally!

It can be said that if the C.I.A. can find out what color underwear a person wore today, then S.H.I.E.L.D. can find out how many hairs are inside that person's underwear, how big that guy is, and so on… While this statement is somewhat exaggerated, in this world, S.H.I.E.L.D. is indeed that powerful!

However, Agent Hill ordered her people to search for a long time, using surveillance, personnel records, target height and build ranges, and all their investigative methods, but they couldn't find any information about the black-clad man. They couldn't even find out how the black-clad man appeared in the Harlem area!

Agent Hill received this information and was about to report it to Director Fury when she saw Director Fury staring intently at the surveillance on the virtual screen, his expression very grave.

In the surveillance, the black-clad man stood silently in the air, and below him, a yellow monster and a green monster were somehow grabbed in the air, then grabbed by that something and violently slammed into each other. The scene was extremely bizarre!

Agent Hill, as a Level Nine S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, knew a lot. She could tell at a glance that the bizarre situation of the two large monsters was definitely caused by the black-clad man flying in the sky.

"Director, we have already searched for information on this black-clad man, but we haven't found any. It's as if he suddenly appeared in the Harlem area of New York, Manhattan!"

Ignoring the surveillance, Hill first reported the information she had obtained to Director Fury.

"Nothing at all? How is that possible?" Hearing Hill's words, Fury's face grew even more solemn. A guy with such powerful abilities suddenly appeared in New York, and yet S.H.I.E.L.D. had no idea where he came from. Where would that leave S.H.I.E.L.D.'s reputation?!

Fury said no more. He continued to stare at the surveillance screen, quietly watching the subsequent developments.

A moment later, Fury saw that the two monsters in the surveillance had, due to intense collisions, one died and one was injured, and were no longer being controlled by the black-clad man to crash into each other.

Finally, the black-clad man directly took the yellow monster and flew away from the area, disappearing from surveillance, never to be seen again.

Seeing this situation, Fury's face darkened, and he instructed Agent Hill again.

"Keep searching, Hill. Collect all effective information. Whether this guy is a mutant or an alien, I need to know all information related to him. Is that clear?"

"Yes, Director."
