Chapter 32 - 32

What kind of person does a psychic hate the most?

Without a doubt, it's another psychic of similar strength!

If there's anything more annoying than that, it's having two such psychics… Ron was facing just such a problem now. He could already sense that just five streets away, a bald man in a wheelchair was being pushed around by a beautiful redhead, seemingly searching for someone.

Ron, of course, knew who these two people were looking for, and he also knew their identities.

Professor X, Charles Xavier, and Phoenix, Jean Grey!

Both Professor X and Phoenix were psychic mutants. Although Phoenix's psychic abilities weren't yet as strong as Professor X's, once she awakened the Phoenix Force, she would become a true Level 5 (Omega) mutant with incredibly powerful abilities.

Professor X and Phoenix's intention was clear: they were looking for Ron.

However, Ron's psychic abilities were certainly not to be underestimated. With his current strength, Professor X, a Level 4 mutant without his Cerebro helmet, was roughly on par with him.

So, Ron used a psychic barrier to conceal his approximate location, allowing Professor X and Phoenix to only follow him from five streets away, unable to pinpoint Ron's exact whereabouts.

Nevertheless, Professor X and Phoenix's psychic abilities were still very strong. Although they couldn't determine Ron's precise location, they could still sense his general area. Thus, Ron couldn't shake off these two for a while.

The most crucial thing was that Professor X had been following him for quite some time, yet showed no signs of giving up, constantly searching the streets as if he wouldn't leave until he found Ron.

At the same time, Professor X was also communicating with Ron telepathically, speaking of the great crisis mutants were facing and wanting Ron to meet him to work together for the future of mutants.

Ron rolled his eyes at this. He had no connection to mutants whatsoever and had no desire to work for Professor X's so-called mutant future!

Ron was 100% certain that, apart from the enhancement serums he had injected, all his abilities came from the Singularity, so he was definitely not a mutant!

Due to his powerful telepathic abilities, Professor X could distinguish between mutants and non-mutants.

However, because Ron had blocked Professor X's telepathy and was also a psychic, Professor X mistakenly believed Ron was a mutant.

And while Ron had blocked Professor X's telepathy back then, it was because he was too weak when he first awakened his abilities and happened to be discovered by Professor X. Otherwise, Ron wouldn't be in this predicament now.

Furthermore, Ron's current abilities were still slightly weaker, unable to completely block Professor X's telepathy.

Of course, Ron could actually materialize Magneto's bug-level helmet to completely block Professor X's telepathy.

However, after materializing Magneto's helmet and thinking it over carefully for a while, Ron suddenly felt it was unnecessary.

This was because Ron had decided to go and meet Professor X, to witness how the story of "X-Men" would unfold.

It's important to remember that this world isn't just populated by mutants; there are also enhanced humans like Captain America, mutated individuals like Spider-Man, and wealthy individuals like Iron Man. In this diverse and integrated world, it's uncertain whether the story of "X-Men" will proceed as it did originally.

After all, the affairs of mutants constantly influence the general direction of this world. Ron wanted to see how much of a ripple effect mutants would create in this world of great integration… On a certain street, Jean Grey pushed Professor X, who was in a wheelchair, along the road, searching for Ron.

However, at this moment, Professor X suddenly waved his hand, signaling her to stop.

"Professor, why did you stop? Aren't we continuing to look for that guy?" Jean Grey was a bit puzzled. Hadn't they not found him yet? Why did they suddenly stop? Did the Professor give up searching?

Jean Grey was very curious about the person Professor X was looking for. She knew Professor X's abilities all too well; as long as someone was on Earth, Professor X could find them.

But what happened? This guy could actually block Professor X's telepathy, leaving them to wander aimlessly in circles, completely at a loss.

Professor X smiled upon hearing Jean Grey's words, then pointed to the street ahead and said,

"It's not that we're not continuing to look for him; it's that he has decided to come and meet us himself."

Jean Grey followed Professor X's hand and looked, but found no one at the end of the street, and immediately became puzzled again.

"Professor, there's no one there!"

"Uh…" Professor X saw that no one had actually appeared on that street, and he gave an awkward smile, but inwardly, his estimation of that person grew even higher.

Professor X had initially thought the person he was looking for should be a Level 2 mutant who was relatively skilled at psychic shielding, but from the current situation, things were probably not that simple.

Sure enough, a moment later, Professor X saw a person appear on the street to his right, someone he couldn't sense with his telepathic abilities at all, slowly walking towards his location… "Hi, Professor X, Ms. Jean Grey, hello!"

Ron walked up to Professor X and Jean Grey, waved at them, and said with a smile.

Although he knew what Professor X and Jean Grey looked like, seeing the bald man and the redhead up close still felt quite novel to Ron.

These two were definitely among the strongest people on Earth. Although Ron's own abilities were also very strong, standing in front of these two, Ron still felt a slight unease.

Professor X heard Ron immediately state his and Jean Grey's information, but he wasn't surprised.

His information could be found by anyone who bothered to look, and since Ron was a psychic like him, it was even more normal for him to know his information.

"Child, you are very powerful, no weaker than me. What is your name?" Professor X said with a smile.

Since he had already shown himself, Ron no longer planned to hide some of his information and told Professor X: "Ron. Ron Brunstad, a student at Empire State University."

"En…" Professor X nodded and said.

After seeing Ron, Professor X roughly observed him with his eyes, wanting to see what kind of person Ron would be after gaining his abilities.

Professor X adhered to a people-centered approach. Although he wanted Ron to join them, he did not want to disrupt Ron's original life.

Although he couldn't use telepathy to learn Ron's information, Professor X was still the person with the strongest psychic abilities on Earth. Through a superficial observation, Professor X felt that Ron had not been confused or disturbed by his abilities, nor had he caused harm to others.

For a moment, Professor X almost gave up the idea of inviting Ron to join his X-Men.

But thinking of Magneto's powerful performance earlier, Professor X sighed softly in his heart and finally spoke.

"Ron, are you willing to come with me and live with mutants like yourself?"

...Please give me recommendation votes. Tomorrow is the author's moment of life and death, I'm nervous...
