"You, walk at the front."
"And you, walk beside me."
The trio had just formed, and naturally, Er Niu became the one calling the shots.
Not only did he make Yujin the cannon fodder, but he also openly revealed his desire for Nova.
Nova frowned. "But… aren't you supposed to be the strong one? Why let him walk ahead alone?"
Er Niu wanted to say, Once this guy dies, I'll take you somewhere fun.
But before they had gone far from the group, he forced himself to stay serious.
"The comrades who died earlier at the hands of monsters were ambushed. I suspect these monsters' habit is to attack from stealth."
Nova nodded thoughtfully, yet the doubt in her eyes hadn't fully disappeared. She kept a safe distance from Er Niu, clearly not trusting him.
The three moved slowly through the dim corridor. The flashlight beams swept across the damp walls, casting mottled shadows.
Their footsteps echoed in the silent cave, each sound seeming to warn them that this place was filled with unknown dangers.
Soon, they arrived at a massive cavern. Sharp stalactites hung from the ceiling, and the floor was covered in slippery moss.
The air was thick with the musty smell of dampness, mingled with earth and plants.
The eerie atmosphere made Nova shiver. Instinctively, she wanted to move closer to Yujin, seeking a sense of security.
However, Er Niu followed closely behind, his gaze lingering greedily on Nova.
He suddenly suggested, "This place is too dangerous. The three of us should hold hands while walking, just in case."
Nova could no longer hold back. She stopped and looked Er Niu straight in the eyes.
"This is a dangerous horror-world. Why does a strong member of our team keep trying to grope me?" Her voice was filled with obvious displeasure and suspicion.
Er Niu's face flushed at her words. He was never good with words, and now he couldn't explain himself at all.
A sly glint appeared in his eyes, and he decided to stop pretending.
He turned to Yujin, his tone threatening. "Kid, get lost! I've got business to handle. Be smart and crawl away."
Yujin stopped. His eyes were icy; he knew exactly what Er Niu was up to.
He glanced at Nova, then at Er Niu, and finally spoke slowly, "This place is dangerous, but we're all reincarnators. We should stick together. If you have any selfish intentions, I suggest you keep them to yourself."
"Heh, keep them to myself, kid?" Er Niu didn't even recognize that the person in front of him was actually the same one who had accompanied him through four horror films. He still wanted to show off his fists.
"Get lost!" Er Niu shouted as he tried to drive him away, but suddenly, he froze and looked elsewhere.
Yujin's expression tightened instantly.
In the dim cave, his Sharingan caught an unusual movement.
Without hesitation, he acted swiftly, pulling Nova into his arms, moving her out of the path of the imminent attack.
While Er Niu was still in shock, a creature with a sharp, stinger-like tail suddenly emerged from the darkness. Its hooked tail shot at the very spot where Nova had just stood, moving with terrifying speed.
The hard ground was pierced effortlessly, leaving a deep hole.
The creature's body was covered in a smooth black exoskeleton, oozing a sickeningly acidic blood.
Its head was teardrop-shaped, and when its huge jaw opened, rows of sharp inner teeth and a long tongue were revealed.
Its eyes were black, pupil-less, cold and merciless.
The creature's body clung close to the ground, its long tail dragging behind. The stinger at the tip dripped with acidic venom, radiating a deadly threat.
Seeing a monster straight out of the movies before her, Nova froze, her heart skipping a beat.
Yujin grabbed her firmly and dashed away, pulling her along. His movements were swift and precise, as if premeditated.
At this moment, the closest person to the creature was Er Niu. He had no choice but to confront this hellish beast head-on.
Er Niu's teeth clenched in rage. A flicker of fear passed through his eyes but was quickly replaced by anger.
He quickly drew his gun from his waist and fired relentlessly at the creature's head.
Bullets struck the exoskeleton with metallic clangs. Some ricocheted off, but several pierced the creature's skin, leaving a trail of scars.
The Xenomorph was enraged. It let out an even louder roar, its tail spikes swinging again, ready to launch a deadly attack at the second engineer.
Yujin and Nova finally broke free from the narrow passage and stepped into an open area.
Silence surrounded them, broken only by the sound of Nova's heavy breathing echoing through the space.
Her chest rose and fell violently with each breath. She whispered words of gratitude to Yujin, "Thank you… you saved me…"
Yujin didn't respond.
His gaze was sharp and alert, carefully scanning the surroundings.
The enormous cavern was filled with strange rocks and stalactites. In the central area, many broken containers were scattered across the ground, their fragments creating a chaotic and desolate scene.
In Yujin's memory, these containers were where the engineers stored injured personnel in the movie. They had originally been sealed, protecting the beings inside.
But now, every single container was shattered.
Their interiors were empty. The injured engineers that should have been inside were nowhere to be found.
A sense of foreboding rose in Yujin's heart.
The broken containers and the missing injured could mean that there was more than one Xenomorph in this cavern.
Nova noticed the shattered containers too, a flicker of fear passing through her eyes.
She gripped Yujin's arm tightly, her voice trembling, "What… what happened here?"
"Something very bad." He handed his gun to Nova. "Take this."
"Ah?"
In her panic, Nova had dropped her own weapon. She felt that taking Yujin's gun meant stealing the last hope of survival from the person in front of her.
"Take it. It won't do much for me," Yujin said, pointing ahead. "If you move that way, you might find a way out alive."
"And you?" Nova asked, alarmed.
"Me? I'm going to… 'help' our teammate."
Before Nova could even grasp the meaning behind his words, from the direction of the passage came the sound of urgent running!
In the shadows of the passage, a massive figure raced forward with astonishing speed. Its movements were swift and agile, each step making the ground tremble slightly.
As the figure burst out of the darkness, Nova's heart skipped a beat—it was a werewolf!
The werewolf's body was covered in thick fur, its sharp claws and fangs glinting menacingly in the dim light.
Its eyes shone with a wild, beastly glow, and a low, guttural growl rumbled from its throat, sending chills down Nova's spine.
Nova stumbled back, terrified by the sudden appearance of this monstrous creature.
"C-could there really be a werewolf among the Xenomorphs?" she whispered, gripping the gun Yujin had handed her, ready to react at a moment's notice.
But what happened next shocked her even more.
A massive fireball suddenly appeared!
Its fiery glow illuminated the entire cave, the intense heat warping the very air around it.
The fireball shot forward like a falling meteor, hurtling straight toward the werewolf with incredible speed.
The werewolf barely had time to react before the fireball struck it head-on.
"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"
