Chapter 34 - Chapter 24 — One Billion for the Children

At exactly 8 AM, Han Yue was escorted to the newly rented warehouse compound. All eight warehouses remained full—brimmed to the top with food supplies, daily necessities, emergency gear, and more. One entire warehouse had even been dedicated solely to breakfast food, from frozen buns to cartons of soy milk, all neatly labeled and organized.

With a satisfied nod, Han Yue absorbed everything into her space one by one. Just as they were preparing to walk over to the breakfast stalls outside to grab a bite, Secretary Wen called.

"The negotiations with the Han Family have been finalized," Secretary Wen reported smoothly over the phone. "They've agreed to sign the separation contract—on the condition that you never press charges for child endangerment, abuse, inheritance conspiracy, or neglect."

Han Yue smirked.

"Fine. Let them sign. I already signed our side in advance. No need for me to show up anymore, right?"

"Correct."

"Good. Case closed."

With that, she hung up cheerfully and trotted off to the bustling breakfast stalls outside the warehouse. Wearing a discreet disguise, she blended in easily with the morning crowd.

Together with her two assistants, Han Yue enjoyed a flavorful breakfast—hot congee, steaming pork buns, fried dough sticks, soy milk, and dumplings. The three of them laughed and chatted like ordinary citizens.

After finishing, Han Yue casually visited each breakfast vendor one by one, ordering 200 servings of every item on their menu, to be delivered daily for one week directly to the warehouse. From savory buns to tea eggs, from porridge variations to cheese toast, the vendors were thrilled. Business boomed. Orders were written down in a flurry, with Han Yue nodding graciously at each grateful vendor.

By 11 AM, she was on the move again. This time, she headed toward a Government Donation Organization, a familiar building that handled welfare programs for students—supplying them with daily necessities, food, clothing, and allowance funds.

Before entering the office, Han Yue removed her disguise and turned on her livestream.

In less than two minutes, 2.5 million viewers flooded in.

"HI EVERYONE~! Guess what? I'm here today to donate again!" she beamed brightly at the camera. "This time it's for poor children and students who need food, clothes, and pocket money!"

The chat exploded immediately:

@PeachyLife_7: OMG she's back!!

@MoneyTalkz: Is she gonna donate another 50 million??

@DramaFiend69: Wait didn't she already give everything away??

@PrincessBroke: She's glowing! Did she finally cut ties??

@Sugarcube01: OUR QUEEN RETURNS!!! 💖💖💖

@OrphanCrew97: We love you!! I used to be in the same boat, you inspire me!

Han Yue giggled.

"To answer your questions—yes, I officially and legally cut ties with the Han family. I have a guardian now, don't worry. And as for the money…"

She leaned close to the camera, grinning mischievously.

"Well, I didn't like people trying to steal my shares… So I sold them off. Guess how much I got?"

The chat scrolled rapidly, guesses flying in the hundreds of millions.

Han Yue raised her fingers in a peace sign.

"Two. Billion. Yuan."

Pandemonium.

@WealthyTrashCan: 2 BILLION????

@EmpressYue: OMG SHE'S A RICH BABY NOW

@HumbleFan: I'm sobbing... she's living the dream

@CryWorthy: Please adopt me 🥹

@ILoveRiceBuns: RICH MOM ENERGY

@HanYueSoldHerShares: trending trending trending!!!

When Han Yue entered the organization building, she was warmly welcomed by the staff—many of whom had already been informed of her arrival thanks to yesterday's buzz. A detailed breakdown of the donation program was presented to both her and the livestream.

The donation would support:

New clothes & shoes for students

Essential daily items (hygiene kits, bedding, etc.)

School materials & books

Monthly food rations: 25kg of rice, boxes of noodles, canned goods, fruit, vegetables, meat, and basic medicine

Monthly allowance money for every child

Suppliers were government-vetted, the program was transparent, and logistics were already in place to begin distribution within the month. All they needed… was the amount.

The staff politely turned to Han Yue.

"Miss Han Yue, may we ask—how much would you like to donate today?"

Han Yue grinned.

"One. Billion. Yuan!"

Time stopped.

The staff froze. One woman's hand trembled mid-note. A man near the back audibly choked on his tea. Her assistants calmly sipped theirs, long used to her outrageous generosity.

Then—

@InternetLoudmouth: SHE SAID WHAT

@ThisIsInsane: 1 BILLION?!?!?!

@CryAgain: 😭😭😭 my family is part of that program. Thank you angel Han Yue!!!

@TaxTheRichExceptHer: I can't believe this queen exists

@RiceForKids: This will feed our whole kingdom's children T_T

@IAlsoDonated100Yuan: I DID TOO!!! WE ALL CAN HELP!!

Suddenly, the back office burst open. The head accountant came running, waving his tablet.

"WE'RE GETTING DONATIONS TOO!! 100 yuan! 10,000 yuan! Someone just sent 500 million yuan!!! This is a national wave!!"

Other staff joined him in stunned joy. Donations from across the country started pouring in—each person inspired by Han Yue's gesture.

The livestream chat glowed with pride, users declaring their own donations whether large or small.

Some boasted of donating 100 yuan, others 1 million. No one judged. It was a flood of kindness.

Han Yue clapped her hands, praising the netizens warmly.

"You guys are amazing~! No matter the amount, your hearts are golden!"

After chatting more with the organization, Han Yue stepped outside—only to be greeted by a small cluster of reporters waiting patiently.

Her assistants quickly moved to keep them at a polite distance, but Han Yue allowed a short interview.

The cameras began rolling.

"Miss Han Yue, is it true that you've legally separated from your family?"

"Yes," she said calmly. "We've cut ties. For legal reasons, I can't share too much, but what matters is—I'm free."

"And what about the 2 billion yuan? How did a minor manage it?"

"I have a guardian and lawyer. I sold my shares voluntarily. I lived as an orphan for 16 years. I know what it's like to be poor, hungry, cold. So I wanted to give back."

The livestream still running, erupted with hearts and crying emojis. One comment read:

"This is why we love her. Not for the money—but for the heart."

After a few final questions, Han Yue waved goodbye to both the reporters and her loyal stream viewers.

"Okay everyone! I'm off to eat lunch~! Thank you for joining me!"

She ended the stream, then happily headed to a cozy nearby café with her assistants.

There, she ordered a matcha latte, baked macaroni, a croissant stuffed with ham, egg, and cheese, a warm brownie, and a toasted bagel with egg. Her assistants placed their own orders while chatting about how their boss never fails to shock the world.

After leaving the cafe with full bellies and happy hearts, Han Yue clapped her hands and cheerfully declared, "Let's go to the mall! I want to be a rich girl today and wave my hands like in the movies!"

With laughter in their voices, the trio got into their car once again, slipped on their disguises, and drove straight to the largest mall in Jade City—a massive multi-story complex filled with everything a person could want or imagine.

On the first floor, filled with both local and international grocery stores, Han Yue wasted no time. She went from shop to shop, pointing at anything that caught her eye with the grace and confidence of a true spendthrift. Snacks? Point. Exotic cereal? Point. Energy bars, chocolates, candies, and even those jelly-filled donuts? Point, point, point. Her two assistants quickly caught on—this wasn't about picking products, it was about sweeping aisles. They marked down entire aisles for delivery, and once again, called over a manager.

When the grocery manager came over and saw the black card in Han Yue's hand, his expression went from skeptical to reverent in seconds. He personally guided them to his office and mobilized his employees to list down every item in the chosen aisles. Within fifteen minutes, Assistant Chen was handed the finalized receipts. Han Yue gave them a glance and handed it off with a casual "You handle it."

They repeated this process in store after store on the grocery floor, wiping out stock aisle by aisle.

Then came the clothing floors. Han Yue did what she did best—point. Whole racks were swept clean as luxury shops scrambled to compile receipts. Everything she pointed at was packaged, paid, and prepared for delivery to her warehouse.

On the restaurant floor, Han Yue turned into a true foodie queen. She ordered 200 servings per menu item at every place she visited—from pizza joints to milk tea stalls, fast food chains to gourmet dessert shops. Each restaurant was instructed to deliver for a whole week, in batches. Assistant Liu and Chen, now numb from signing so many contracts, took over the paperwork with dead eyes and forced smiles.

Then it was time for the toy and game floor. Han Yue joyfully bought 100 pieces of each game console—Gameboys, PSPs, Switches, Xboxes, retro and modern alike. She bought out shelves of game cartridges, puzzles, trading cards, board games, and more. The stuffed toy section nearly made her lose her mind. "They're so cute!" she squealed, hugging a giant bunny plush. She bought all of them—dogs, cats, bears, and even the creepy Labubu dolls.

Next up: electronics. She purchased the 200 best phones from every major brand, 500 high-performance laptops, 1000 tablets, smart watches, desktop computers, USB accessories—you name it. She even made a special order at a data storage shop, asking the owner to fill 1000 hard drives with curated categories: dramas, anime, educational content, survival guides, farming techniques, medical knowledge, and so on. The man accepted the massive task with stars in his eyes and promised to deliver within a few days.

By the time they left the mall, it was already dark outside. Assistant Liu drove her to the warehouse once again to oversee today's deliveries. The food orders from earlier were already arriving—piping hot meals, drinks, sauces, desserts, and snacks filled the area with heavenly aromas.

Warehouse after warehouse, filled to the brim once again.

Han Yue sighed dramatically. "It's only day two… and I'm already exhausted!"

She waved her hand, and with a flash, everything disappeared into her space.

Then, they drove back to the villa. Just when she thought she could rest, she found a surprise in her living room—a small boy, sitting obediently on the couch, feet swinging nervously. The moment she walked in, he perked up and looked at her shyly.

Before she could ask anything, the old butler arrived with a smile. "Miss Han Yue, this is Colonel Long's son. The DNA tests and background checks have confirmed everything. Colonel Long instructed us to bring the child to stay here until he returns."

Han Yue blinked, surprised. Then she walked up with a warm smile. "Come on, let's go eat dinner."

The little boy blushed, nodded, and followed her quietly.

Dinner was lively. Han Yue gave him food with her chopsticks, telling him to eat whatever he wanted. The boy, timid at first, soon relaxed and smiled. For the first time in a long while, someone was taking care of him. After dinner, they moved to the lounge, where tea, milk, and cookies were served.

"What's your name?" Han Yue asked, nibbling on a cookie.

The boy sat beside her, chewing his own cookie happily. "My name is Long Zhihan. I… I was picked up today and tested. Then they signed papers… and now I'm here." He giggled softly.

Han Yue nodded, smiling as she watched him. He looked so small, but she could sense something quiet and resilient in him.

They spent the evening playing board games, watching silly cartoons, and chatting like old friends. Just as Han Yue was ready to tuck herself in for the night…

Her phone rang.

"Miss Han," Assistant Chen's voice came through, "we'll be picking you up shortly. Another wave of deliveries is arriving at the warehouse."

Han Yue stared blankly for a moment… then sighed.

"…My job never ends."

She was whisked away once again to oversee more deliveries. The scent of fried foods, BBQ, roasted meats, and more greeted her. All eight warehouses were being filled up again. Han Yue stared with wide eyes and murmured, "…Is this what gluttony looks like?"

With another wave of her hand, she stored it all.

Then finally… finally… she was sent home.

Han Yue faceplanted onto her bed, groaning into her pillow.

"Day two… complete…"
