Anyway, it was pretty quiet until.. I heard someone's heavy footsteps running in the hallways, and I turned around to the slightly open door. I peeked through the crack, as the footsteps of the running got closer... Until I saw her. Ivy..? The REAL ivy..?
She ran right past this room, her straw straight light blue hair being the last piece of appearance I saw of her. But before I could peek through out of the apartment, someone else ran past this room again, after ivy..
Perry's pov:
We all looked at what Christian was looking at, and immediately knew what he meant by 'bigger problems'... Maverick, who was still peacefully laying on the couch in his peaceful slumber, had a big scratch on his forearm. Although it wasn't bleeding, it seemed really bad. And the worst part? We have no way of knowing if it was Nathan.. or a zombie.
"Wait, woah.. that's a nasty wound.." Nicole said, his face scrunched from looking at the bloody wound. Christian got up, and looked around the dimly lit room for something. I'm guessing it was for the wound. We found some clean pairs of shirts and took one. He ripped it apart with his bare hands and tied it around Mavericks wound.
"You know first aid?" Ruby asked, watching him curiously.
"Eh, all volunteers for the football medics had to learn it." He replied, tightening the already tied cloth around Maverick's arm. He then checked Mavericks temperature, and retreated his hand.
"Is his temperature very cold?" Nicole asked.
"No, it's.. pretty warm, like a fever." Christian replied. Nicole exhaled a sigh of relief and leaned back in his seat.
"Well, then, at least he isn't infected.." Nicole stated. Ruby raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean? How do you know that?" Ruby asked, leaning forward slightly, looking at Nicole.
"Well.. back at The organization's basement.. They experimented on zombies AND humans. So I took some mental notes of the symptoms and stuff.." Nicole explained.
"So.. low temperature is one of them, then?" I asked, looking at Maverick and then back at Nicole, who inhaled sharply.
"Yeah.. low temperature, itching alot, dry palms.. and bloodshot eyes.." He listed the symptoms. Ruby's eyes just widened ever so slightly.
"Huh.." I muttered under my breath, and took a minute to think about it.
"And... Were you experimented on? Or.. did they spare you?" Christian asked, looking at Nicole, now sitting on an armchair in front of the couch we were sitting on.
"Well, they just made me watch and said best is for last.. and trust me, was i happy to be last if anything. What they did to those humans were.. well- it was literal torture. I get they want to find a vaccine, but-" Nicole explained, but got cut off.
"But torture definitely isn't the answer." Ruby cut him off mid sentence and muttered loudly enough so we could hear her. Nicole hummed in agreement, and I nodded slightly.
Rexines pov:
I saw the person who was running after Ivy, it was a red haired, tall woman. I peeked outside, but they had already passed and were long gone. I was back inside, and this time locked the door shut. I sat on the couch and leaned back with a heavy sigh. I looked around the living room, and everything was actually well intact and clean.. apart from some blood stains on the walls and floor.
I relaxed not very long before I decided it was probably safer if I checked all the rooms.. you never know what will pop up from where. I got up, and started walking towards a.. I'm guessing a bedroom. I slowly opened the door, and looked inside, where there was a very dimly lit and flickering flashlight on the ground. Its light very slightly casted across the room, and I could actually see inside, somewhat.
I entered cautiously, and looked around. There was nothing, as far as I could tell.. and from my judgment, I stepped further inside.
I roamed around the room, and found no zombies, thankfully. And, bonus points for the cleanliness. Once I finished with that room, I made my way outside and walked to the other room, where the door hung wide open. I walked inside and there was nothing. How could I tell? I had the dimly lit flashlight.. and it worked alright for small spaces such as a bedroom..
I walked back to the living room, and looked around. The dining room which was visible from the living room looked fine, and the kitchen was also clear.. I sighed, and sat back down on the couch.
Perry's pov:
A while had passed, and I was in the kitchen. Ruby and Nicole asleep on the couch, Christian on the armchair, cooling down, eating some stuff he found in the kitchen. I looked through the cabinets, and saw something. A packet of peanuts. I smirked slightly to myself before turning to the direction of the living room and calling out to Christian.
"Hey, shitty hair!" I called out, leaning against the kitchen counter.
"What?" He replied in his usually grumpy tone.
"I think you'll like this. Catch!" I threw him the packet of peanuts, and before he could fully process what it was, he spoke.
"Thanks?-" he cut himself off, when he saw the packaging. He then looked up at me from the packet, and rolled his eyes and scoffed. "Asshole." He muttered as he threw it back to me.
"Gosh, if you WANT me to die, just say it." He replied in an annoyed tone. I chuckled, as he threw me the packet of peanuts back, I caught it and made my way back into the kitchen. Christian was deathly allergic to peanuts.
"Hm.. but directly saying it is no fun." I teased him. He sighed.
"..honestly, i should have an award and medals for putting up with you." He replied, standing up and walking over to the kitchen.
"If you'd get medals for dealing with me, I should have a closet full of golden trophies." I retorted back to him, and he scoffed.
"That's arrogant. I'm definitely not as bad as YOU." he said, resting his chin on the palm of his hand, on top of the counter. I was still rummaging through the cabinets.. but stopped and turned to him.
"Uh huh, no, you're definitely twisting it now. Me? Worse than you? Absolutely not. Never." I scowled back, and opened the packet of peanuts, and ate a few.
"Now that's just a straight up lie. You are ALOT worse, dumbshit." Christian replied to me. I rolled my eyes, and threw a peanut at his face. He rolled his eyes, and looked back, which I followed his gaze and what I saw was Nicole and Ruby who.. now in which Ruby had her head laid on Nicole's shoulder, and Nicole's head was on the couch, his head tilted back. I smiled slightly.. They were pretty cute and it was pretty obvious they had something for each other.
Christian had a slight smirk on his face, looking at the two and then turned back to me.
