Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 – "A Man From Her Past"

The silence between them had returned.

But this time, it wasn't due to scandals or media pressure.

This time… it was something deeper.

Trust.

Calvin stared at Fini from across the breakfast table.

Erian giggled, playing with his cereal, unaware of the tension suffocating the room.

Fini smiled lovingly, trying to act normal.

> "Do you want to visit the new gallery today, Calvin?"

Calvin hesitated. His jaw clenched.

> "We'll see."

That was all he said before rising and leaving for work.

The Confrontation

That night, Calvin finally broke.

He entered their bedroom, holding the envelope in his hand. He threw it on the bed in front of her.

> "Who is Shiro Yamanaka, Fini?"

Fini froze. Her breath caught in her throat.

She stared at the photos and the video USB.

> "Where… did you get this?"

> "Answer me." His voice was low, controlled, but dangerous. "Is this the man you were with in Japan?"

Fini sat down slowly, tears already forming.

> "Yes. I met him in Kyoto. He owned the inn I stayed at. He helped me… when I had nothing. I didn't know if I'd survive the pregnancy alone."

> "Did you love him?" Calvin's eyes burned. "Did you sleep with him?"

Fini shook her head fiercely.

> "No! I didn't love him, Calvin. I was broken… I was tired. He was kind, but I never crossed that line. He kissed me once—just once—and I pulled away. I told him my heart was still with someone else."

Calvin stepped back. His chest heaved.

> "Why didn't you tell me?"

> "Because I was afraid you'd think I replaced you. But I never did. Even when you were with Liora… even when you stopped choosing me… I still waited."

Liora's Secret Scheme

Somewhere across the city, in a dim apartment, Liora smirked as she watched the same video clip on her laptop.

> "He believed it. Just like I planned."

She had hired someone to dig into Fini's time in Japan. And when she found the video, she edited it—cutting out the part where Fini pushed Shiro away.

> "Let's see how perfect their marriage is now."

But Liora wasn't done.

She was planning something darker—something involving Shiro himself.

Shiro's Arrival

A week later, as Calvin prepared to fly to Bali for a business summit, a stranger appeared in his office waiting room.

Tall. Elegant. Calm.

> "Mr. Calvin Sahputra?"

> "Yes?"

The man bowed slightly.

> "I am Shiro Yamanaka. I believe we need to talk."

Calvin's blood ran cold.

> "You're the one from the video."

> "Yes," Shiro nodded. "But you don't know the full story."

> "I've heard enough."

> "Have you heard that I asked Fini to marry me—and she refused? That she told me she was still in love with you even when you left her?"

Calvin's expression shifted.

Shiro's eyes didn't waver.

> "She waited for you. Every single night. Even when I begged her to forget you."

> "Why are you here now?"

> "Because someone paid me to destroy her… and I refuse to do it."

Fini Breaks Down

Later that night, Fini sat in the nursery, holding Erian in her arms, singing softly.

When Calvin entered the room, she didn't look up.

> "I'm tired, Calvin. If you don't believe me… I won't fight anymore."

He walked toward her slowly. His voice was gentle.

> "I met Shiro."

Fini's heart skipped.

> "He told me everything. And I'm… I'm sorry, Fini."

She finally broke. Years of pain and pressure crashed over her.

Tears fell freely.

> "I don't want to fight anymore. I just want peace—for us, for Akihiro"

Calvin knelt beside her, his arms wrapping around both mother and child.

> "Then let's fight together. Not against each other."
