Chapter 4 - Bash

"Where is everyone going?" A muscular green ogre with dark red hair asked. He had a diadem around his head and bangles around his wrist. Similar gold bangles were around his ankles.

"Lord Rye summoned all of us from the first floor," a ghoul said and he walked away.

"Lord Rye?" the ogre said with a frown on his face.

"He is the new dungeon boss. Remember?"

A red ogre said to him.

"Aarh, I have heard of him. So he thinks he can dictate to my subjects?" The green Ogre walked in the opposite direction.

"Lord Bash, where are you going?"

"To introduce myself to the new king," Bash said and chuckled.

Meanwhile, Rye, the queen, and her escorts were heading back to the entrance.

"If you ever find yourself this way. Show them this and you will not be harmed," Rye instructed handing the queen a talisman. The talisman, a huge gold coin with an impression of a snake coiled around the sun.

The queen took the talisman and nodded. As she stared at it, a gust of wind rushed past her.

She squinted protecting her eyes from the dust. The queen turned around to see Rye on the ground.

Serick on the other hand was staring in the opposite direction. Mod, Santo, and Epp felt a chill run down their spine. Their hair on their arms stood erect, and their skin turned bumpy in a second.

"This is the new dungeon lord? Now I understand why you stayed in the tower all those years," Bash said as he walked towards Rye.

Who should have flown out destroying the dungeon doors but the threshold had broken his fall.

The queen, Serick, and her escorts froze. The guards with the spear flinched as if they were about to attack. The red ogre looked their way and they immediately dropped their spears.

They watched as Bash passed, his bangles jiggled around his wrists and ankles.

Hake was about to go help Rye up but the red ogre grabbed him.

"New King, allow me to introduce myself. I am Bash Maiti, Lord of the first floor," Bash said and lunged at Rye. He punched him in the stomach and Rye groaned.

"Is that.. that really the boss of the first floor?" Serick murmured to himself.

"Yes, as he said. I am his second Tai Goon," the red ogre said extending his hand. Derick slowly grabbed his hand and shook it.

'I have heard of monsters who speak but I never imagined meeting one.' The queen thought as she watched the encounter. Holding on tight to the talisman.

With Rye back against the threshold, Bash overwhelmed him with a barrage of punches. After countless punches, Bash stopped and Rye fell to the ground.

"How did you manage to defeat Rasol?" Bash asked and ran his hand over his hair. He turned around and saw the queen and her entourage.

"You seem to have retained your human side. Making deals with humans like they are our equals. We are stronger, faster, and smarter. Well not you, not until you let go of your humanity," Bash ranted all the while Rye struggled to get up.

Bash turned back around and Rye threw a right hook. It hit Bash square in the jaw turning his head.

He turned slowly and looked at Rye and burst into laughter.

"You just proved my point, weak and stupid," Bash said and punched Rye. He fell to the ground and he continued to punch him. The force made a crater on the floor which got bigger with every punch.
