Rye was at the cemetery staring at his father's headstone. Wind blew across carrying dead leaves across the grass.
Tears trickling down his face, he knelt in front of his father's headstone. On the headstone it said,
"Dorian Kappa, father and friend," Rye heard rustling. He turned around to see a squirrel running in the grass.
'Not even one person showed up,' Rye thought as he looked at the empty field. The place was quiet, except for chirping birds and dancing trees.
Just as he was about to leave he saw a woman with long lustrous black hair walking towards him. Behind her was a man with short spiky hair.
Squinting as the sun behind them blinded him, he tried to tell who they were.
"Rye!" the male silhouette shouted.
Rye did not respond, he waited for them to get closer.
"It's me, Yash!" the man announced.
"Yash?" Rye called out before lunging at him. He wrapped his arms around him a squeezed tightly.
"Hey Rye, sorry for your loss," the young woman said.
"Juvita?" Rye asked and she nodded.
He quickly let go of Yash and hugged her.
The shared childhood stories on their way to Rye's house.
Immediately they got there, they fell silent. Rye looked around at the empty house and he suddenly felt cold.
Yash and Juvita watched him for a while before they eventually hugged him.
"I am okay. I am very glad you guys are here. I don't know what I would have done without you," Rye said and Juvita and Yash held on saying nothing.
"Wait, what are you doing here?" Rye asked suddenly.
"We came to see you of course," Yash and Juvita said in unison.
"I did not tell you about my father's passing. What are you doing in Brok?" Rye clarified.
"Oh, we are headed to the Aurora dungeon. We just stop here for a day," Yash explained.
"You too?" Rye turned to Juvita and asked.
"Yes, it is a three-team raid. Both our teams and one other party." Juvita answered.
"You should come with us. It will be like old times," Yash suggested.
Rye took a seat on the bed.
"I don't think that will be a good idea," Rye shook his head as he said.
"Why not? I think it will be good for you," Yash knelt in front of him.
"I have not been to a dungeon in years," Rye explained
"Don't worry, both of our parties are A-ranked. You will nearly have to lift a finger," Juvita assured him.
"Okay, I will think about it," Rye said and fell back first on his bed.
"We have to leave now but we will pass by tomorrow morning," Juvita said.
Sticking to their word they showed up the next morning. They were dressed, Yash had on a knight's armor.
Juvita on the other hand was in traditional mage gear. A tunic, a pair of pants, a belt, and a gray cloak.
Rye opened the door and froze.
'They look like real adventurers,' Rye thought when he opened the door and saw them.
