Chapter 9 - Chapter 09

After escorting Evelyn to a safer place, Edward immediately went to meet Diego in the same place. The two of them faced each other, their red eyes meeting each other. Edward was very angry this time, he knew that Diego was after Evelyn to take holy blood. Don't know why Edward is not willing if Evelyn is used by them.

"What do you want, Diego! Why did you go to the human world," Edward said loudly, his eyes fixed on Diego.

Diego laughed lightly, he walked over to Edward and said, "To get holy blood," he whispered next to Edward's ear, ending with a small laugh.

Edward suddenly kicked Diego's stomach with his strength, so Diego bounced quite a bit far. Edward grimaced showing his sharp fangs, his red eyes blazing. Walked over to Diego who was lying on the ground, clutching his stomach which hurt from Edward's kick.

Not wanting to lose to Edward, Diego got up and started attacking Edward with his strength. The two of them clashed with each other, attacking each other. No one wants to admit defeat, although Diego admits that his strength is not comparable to Edward's. Diego fell many times but stood up again to beat Edward.

"You'd better go back to Draciana's world, Diego. You're weak, don't try to beat me," Edward said laughing, just say he's arrogant. He always said whatever he wanted, no matter if it would hurt other people or not.

"Damn it! I'm not weak!" Diego shouted again hitting Edward with his strength. Fighting is unavoidable. Diego beats Edward brutally, but Edward can still dodge and retaliate easily.

A few minutes later, Edward just remembered that he left Evelyn alone. Remembering that, he immediately used his strength to throw Diego until the disobedient vampire collapsed helplessly to the ground.

"Don't try to get close to that woman. If you still want to take the holy blood, I'll kill you right away. Remember, I won't let a rebellious vampire like you get the holy blood," said Edward at length, stomping on Diego's chest. without pity. Ignoring Diego's groans of pain beneath him. After that Edward lifted Diego into the air with his strength, the red light managed to blow Diego away.

"Just die your trash!" squealed Edward laughing lightly, then left from there leaving Diego still in pain under the tree.

"Damn you, Edward, after this I will not repay you!" Diego shouted in annoyance, punching a nearby tree until the dry leaves fell.

Elsewhere, Evelyn was still sitting on a wooden chair. Evelyn didn't know exactly where she was now, she just looked at the trees around her. All Evelyn was doing right now was sitting still, waiting for Edward to come to pick her up. Now and then she rubbed her palms together, warming herself from the cold air that penetrated her skin.

"It's so cold, why isn't Edward here yet. Did he leave me here on purpose? Ahh, that's so annoying," Evelyn grumbled pouting, propping her chin up with her chin. Palm. It would be a lie if Evelyn wasn't afraid to be out there alone, there was only the sound of crickets all around.

"Should I just go home? But I wonder who the strange man who suddenly appeared was. He looks like..." Evelyn paused for a moment.

"Like a vampire, ahh there's no way there is such a creature in the world. this world. No, what was I thinking? How could there be vampires in this city?" Evelyn spoke to herself, smacking her head which was thinking too much.

"I want to go home," Evelyn said leaning on the chair, closing her eyes.

"Let's go home."

Evelyn suddenly opened her eyes when she heard someone's voice, she was surprised to see Edward suddenly sitting beside her. Evelyn almost fell, luckily Edward quickly restrained Evelyn's body from being far away.

Evelyn looked into Edward's eyes, they both stared at each other for a few moments. Like slowmo that keeps them in their position. Edward's face was very close to Evelyn's, only inches away. This allowed Edward to see Evelyn's beautiful face from a closer distance.

"Beautiful," Edward muttered quietly, this was the first time he had praised a woman other than his mother.

Evelyn heard Edward's words, which made her wake up and get up from her position. She turned her face away to hide the look on her face that was probably red from Edward's compliment.

While Edward just smiled faintly, then returned with a flat face. Then he stood up and said, "Come on, I'll take you home," he said holding out his hand in front of Evelyn.

Evelyn hesitantly accepted Edward's outstretched hand, she kept her face averted in embarrassment. But a few moments later, he thought back to the strange man earlier.

"Edward, may I ask a question?" asked Evelyn.

"What?"

"Who was that weirdo earlier? Why does he look like a... Vampire?" Evelyn asked to the point.

Edward was silent for a moment, in his heart he was holding back anger because Diego dared to appear in front of humans with the appearance of a vampire in general.

"What are you saying? Vampires? Do you believe in vampires?"

"No, I'm just guessing. He has fangs and his eyes are bloodshot too, I think he is..."

"Forget about him, and let's go home. He's just a crazy person who wants to annoy him." Edward cut Evelyn's words, he pulled Evelyn's hand away from there without permission. Before Evelyn asked any further.

Evelyn was silent and obedient, walking after Edward. He wanted to ask again, but seeing Edward seem annoyed made him stop asking.

The two of them walked under the night sky, even the cold air occasionally pierced the skin. The sparkling stars adorn the night sky, making it look very beautiful.

"Are you cold?" Edward asked turning to look at Evelyn who was hanging her head beside him.

"Erm... A little. But it's okay, you already gave me a jacket."

"Do I need to take my car? So we can get there quickly," Edward offered. Don't know why Edward cared so much for Evelyn.

"No need, don't overdo it. We'll be there in a minute," Evelyn replied with a sweet smile.

Edward nodded in agreement with Evelyn's words. He didn't want Evelyn to be out of the house like this, Diego would come back. Edward wanted so badly to take Evelyn off with his strength.

'Being a human is very tiring, can't go fast.'
