Chapter 39: Tsunade: He's Mine!
Are you a dog? Breaking down doors every day.
Hiruzen Sarutobi was speechless as he looked at the empty doorway.
"Lord Hokage," a sound alerted an Anbu ninja, who appeared.
She wore a frog mask; it was Haru.
"I'll go find someone right now." Haru looked around and knew what had happened.
You regret, I'm angry, bang.
She was all too familiar with this sequence of events.
"Wait a moment," Hiruzen Sarutobi suddenly remembered something. "Bring Tsunade here. I have something to discuss with her."
"Yes." Haru disappeared in an instant.
Hiruzen Sarutobi took out his pipe and lit it, taking a puff.
The unpleasantness brought by Danzō Shimura vanished into the smoke.
"Old man! You better have a real reason for calling me!"
A few minutes later, the voice arrived before the person.
A dissatisfied voice approached from a distance.
Hiruzen Sarutobi looked up and saw an accusatory Tsunade.
He didn't even have to think to guess the reason.
She must have been unlucky at the casino and lost badly.
"Where's your door?" Tsunade noticed the doorway, paused, and asked.
"Don't worry about it," Hiruzen Sarutobi waved his hand, saying nonchalantly.
"Who? Danzō again?" Tsunade thought for a moment and guessed the answer. She snorted, "You need to rein him in!"
"He's not just an ordinary ninja; he's a ninja who has made great contributions," Hiruzen Sarutobi tapped his pipe and said casually. "As long as it's for Konoha, let him be."
"For Konoha? I think it's for himself!" Tsunade said with a look of disgust.
"Tsunade," Hiruzen Sarutobi coughed. "Give me a break."
"Spit it out. What is it?" Tsunade narrowed her eyes. "Don't waste my time if it's nothing."
"I called you here because of Hoshikawa," Hiruzen Sarutobi coughed slightly, forcibly changing the subject.
"Hoshikawa?" Tsunade's eyes narrowed. "What about him?"
"Danzō came to see me just now. He wanted Hoshikawa... Wait! Stop!" Hiruzen Sarutobi instinctively raised his hand, but he was a step too late.
Bang!
Tsunade's fist slammed into his desk.
"How dare he?!" The desk, under her angry questioning, cracked and then split into two.
Hiruzen Sarutobi's mouth hung open.
My desk that has been with me for two and a half years!
His face showed a look of distress. This desk was so good to use. He would have to get used to a new one.
"Don't worry, I've already turned him down," Hiruzen Sarutobi quickly said, afraid she would cause more damage.
"It better be!" Tsunade clenched her fist, saying with a commanding presence.
"It seems you care a lot about him." Hiruzen Sarutobi smiled. "Why don't you take him as your student?"
"He's still a long way off," Tsunade said, pouting.
"Do you know why Danzō came to see me today?" Hiruzen Sarutobi asked in return.
Tsunade raised an eyebrow.
If she remembered correctly, Hoshikawa was someone Hiruzen Sarutobi had taken from Danzō Shimura.
Logically, there was no need to go through it again.
Unless something special happened today.
"The final exams?" Tsunade thought about it and asked.
"Exactly," Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded. "He defeated Kakashi."
"No wonder," Tsunade's face showed a look of sudden realization.
From Hoshikawa's performance, he was already on par with Minato Namikaze.
Coupled with the fact that he was from the orphanage, Danzō Shimura naturally wouldn't give up so easily.
The best way to protect Hoshikawa was to give him a strong identity.
Being her student was undoubtedly the best option.
"I have high hopes for Hoshikawa," Hiruzen Sarutobi said with a pause. "If you don't take him as your student, I'll go to Jiraiya. He might be more suitable than you."
"No way!" Tsunade said without thinking. "He's mine!"
This was the first person she had ever met who could turn her luck around, so how could she give him to someone else?
Besides, what if he became a perverted and lecherous man like Jiraiya?
"You can't do this, and you can't do that. You can't seriously expect me to take him as my student, right?" Hiruzen Sarutobi couldn't help but laugh.
As the Hokage, his students would be in even more danger.
And he was old; he no longer had the energy to teach students.
He was pushing Hoshikawa onto Tsunade not only because he was outstanding, but also because he wanted to find her a companion.
Ever since Nawaki's death, Tsunade had been a loner without any bonds.
She was the best medical ninja in the world and the granddaughter of Hashirama Senju. For any reason, she had to stay in Konoha.
"That damn Danzō!" Tsunade said, her mood turning irritable.
Hiruzen Sarutobi smoked calmly.
He knew Tsunade very well. To put it bluntly, she was a person with a rough exterior and a kind heart.
She would say she didn't care about Konoha, but she cared more than anyone.
As for Danzō Shimura, he could be cursed at freely.
Just then, Tsunade, with a cold face, turned and walked to the doorway.
"Tsunade?" Hiruzen Sarutobi quickly called out to her.
"You go tell Danzō that Hoshikawa is my student and tell him not to show his face in front of us!" Tsunade said, punching the side of the door.
"..." Hiruzen Sarutobi's mouth twitched.
Oh my goodness, just talk, don't use your fists!
"Haru," Hiruzen Sarutobi said helplessly. "Write down all the damages and charge it to Danzō."
As for Tsunade, she was broke, so charging it to her would be pointless.
"Old man, what's going on?" A moment later, a head poked out of the window; it was Jiraiya.
He climbed into the office, looked around, and clicked his tongue in wonder.
"What? Did Kumogakure break in?" Jiraiya asked jokingly.
"Kumogakure wouldn't dare to cause trouble in my office," Hiruzen Sarutobi looked at him and asked, "What do you want?"
"I'm going to be away for a while," Jiraiya said, hesitating for a few seconds.
"Are you going to look for your vague Child of Prophecy again?" Hiruzen Sarutobi couldn't help but frown.
"The Child of Prophecy is real," Jiraiya said in a deep voice.
"Things are unstable in Konoha right now," Hiruzen Sarutobi said slowly.
"Minato has already mastered the Flying Thunder God Jutsu. With him here, there won't be any problems," Jiraiya insisted, ignoring the tense atmosphere.
"You!" Hiruzen Sarutobi angrily slapped the table, but it was just an empty space.
"If anything happens, just have Minato contact me," Jiraiya promised. "I'll be sure to come back."
"Fine, you can go," Hiruzen Sarutobi sighed, no longer trying to stop him.
Given Jiraiya's strength, it would be pointless to stop him anyway.
"Thanks, old man," Jiraiya's eyes suddenly darted around, and he threw a book to him. "A gift for you."
He turned and jumped out the window just as he had come in.
"Taimanin?" Hiruzen Sarutobi subconsciously read the title of the book.
He casually flipped it open and his heart skipped a beat.
This disobedient disciple!
Am I that kind of person?
Hiruzen Sarutobi cleared his throat and put away the book "Taimanin".
