Synopsis
For a thousand years, Xiang Tian, the feared King of the Netherworld, has searched for a single soul. When he finally finds her, she is not the radiant goddess,Ming Yue,he lost, but Su Yuxi, a quiet mortal shopkeeper who doesn't even remember who she used to be. “I'm not her," she whispers, backing away from his desperate gaze. "I'm just Su Yuxi.” “You are everything," he replies, his voice breaking with centuries of longing. "You are my heart, given form." But their reunion awakens ancient enemies. The Heavens declare her existence a cosmic crime, while mysterious forces in the mortal realm begin to move against them both. "The soul you seek to protect," the Celestial Envoy announces coldly, "was never meant to exist." "Then I will make the cosmos accept her," Tian snarls, power crackling around him, "or I will tear it apart." As divine trials test their bond and mortal enemies close in, Tian must learn that love is not about possession and Yuxi must discover that a flawed, mortal life might be worth choosing over a perfect, forgotten past. “You're suffocating me!" she cries during their darkest moment. "I am not a fragile thing to be locked away!" “But you are fading before my eyes!" he roars back, his fear making him dangerous. "I will not lose you again!" But what happens when the greatest threat to their love comes not from gods or demons, but from the very depths of their own hearts? “What do we truly want," she asks him one quiet night, "if we are not a king and a goddess, but just two people who love each other?" He was a king who commanded armies. She was a soul caught between worlds. Together, they must face an impossible choice: fight an eternal war for power, or risk everything for something far more dangerous- A simple, mortal, happily ever after. "Every battle we've won, every enemy we've faced," he murmurs, holding her close, "and the hardest thing of all is learning to just... live." Will their love survive the judgment of Heaven? Can two souls burdened by destiny choose the ultimate rebellion: a quiet life together? Some loves are worth defying the gods for. But the greatest victory might be knowing when to stop fighting altogether.

Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

The Kaiyuan Dynasty reigns supreme in the Mortal Realm. Under the benevolent rule of the Sheng Emperor, cities like the grand capital of Jing'an flourish with art, philosophy, and commerce. Silk roads carry treasures from distant lands, and the canals filled boxes of with grain and jade. Mortals live their lives, blissfully unaware that their fates are threads woven by powers far beyond their comprehension.

Above them, in the Celestial Realm, deities clad in shimmering light maintain the cosmic order. They are beings of principle and law, governing the seasons, the stars, and the flow of spiritual energy. Their power is absolute, their judgment final. They view the passions of mortals with detached curiosity, a fleeting drama in the grand scheme of eternity.

Below, in the shadowy depths of Diyu, lies the Realm of Netherworld. It is not a place of chaotic evil, but one of grim, unyielding judgment. Here, the formidable King Xiang Tian presides over the Ten Courts, his throne carved from primordial ice. For millennia, he has been the solitary warden of souls, his heart as cold and unforgiving as the realm he rules. He is the law, the judge, and the executioner, a necessary darkness to balance Heaven's light.

Between these three realms flows the River of Souls, an eternal current carrying spirits to their next life, washing them clean of memory. It is the most sacred and inviolable law of the cosmos: no soul may escape its current, and no name may be remembered once submerged. To tamper with the River is to threaten the foundation of everyone's existence. It is a law that has never been broken.

Until now.
