"Shuo-chan, was there something you wanted to say?" Rias sounded puzzled, her crimson brows knitting in concern.
Shuo nodded, his tone turning serious. "Actually, I ran into two rather extraordinary people this morning—the current hosts of the Two Heavenly Dragons. Ddraig's Red Dragon Emperor and Albion's White Dragon Emperor."
"...What!?"
The reaction was immediate: Rias's jaw dropped, Sona's eyes widened, and even Koneko's usual poker face wavered into a rare look of alarm.
No one in the room thought he was joking. The Two Heavenly Dragons—every generation, their hosts were monsters, and wherever they appeared, chaos followed. Even in peace, their presence spelled trouble.
Rias tried to steady her voice. "Shuo, are you sure?"
Sona echoed her, sharp and businesslike. "Nangong-kun, how reliable is your intel?"
Kiba added, "It's hard to believe the Two Heavenly Dragons—who are supposed to be rivals—would show up together in Kuoh Town."
Shuo met their eyes, his answer calm and confident. "It's real. I met them, talked with them. They didn't bother hiding their identities, and they told me exactly why they're here."
That was all it took. Rias and Sona exchanged a look, their skepticism evaporating into grim acceptance.
Shuo filled them in on the conversation—how both Vali and Lux were already at Satan-class strength, how their aura alone was enough to make even seasoned devils uneasy. With every detail, the mood in the room grew heavier.
"This generation's White Dragon Emperor and Red Dragon Emperor are already at Satan-class?" Rias slumped back, pressing a hand to her forehead. "No wonder they're legends. It's almost hopeless..."
Across from her, Sona's normally composed face was pinched with worry. The situation was spiraling—first the dragon phantom, now two Longinus-class powerhouses, both at Satan-level, both in their town.
She glanced at Shuo, voice low. "Did they say anything else?"
Shuo shook his head, offering what reassurance he could. "Honestly, you don't need to panic. Both of them are battle maniacs, but they're not bad people. They're just here chasing the dragon phantom. If they don't find anything, they'll leave in a few days. They're not looking to pick a fight with us."
Rias let out a breath she didn't realize she'd been holding. "I see... Still, Kuoh's attracting more trouble than we can handle these days."
She turned to the window, gazing out over the city as dusk settled in, her expression unreadable.
Time slipped by. Days passed, each one busier than the last for Shuo. But today was different. He'd asked Rias to help him skip school, and instead of heading to class, he wandered the city streets with a purpose.
The reason? The system had flagged a new arrival: Asia Argento, the sweet, church-raised saint with the power to heal wounds others thought incurable.
Not that he needed the system's prompt. The virtual map in his mind showed a bright green marker drifting through Kuoh—Asia's location, a Green Tier sign-in reward waiting to be claimed.
"Alright, time to meet Asia," Shuo murmured, excitement bubbling in his chest as he set off.
Elsewhere in Kuoh, a petite blonde girl stood uncertainly on the sidewalk. She clutched her small travel bag, green eyes wide with confusion, trying to make herself understood to passing strangers. Her nun's veil fluttered in the breeze, framing a face so innocent and delicate it seemed almost unreal. Her skin was porcelain, her figure slight, radiating an aura of gentle vulnerability that made people instinctively want to protect her.
But her English was lost on most of the locals. Well-meaning passersby could only shake their heads and move on, leaving her more lost than ever.
Shuo had been watching from a distance for a while, quietly observing. Then, right on cue, the system's mechanical monotone chimed in his mind:
"DXD: Multiverse Journey"Ding! Sign-in character detected: Asia Argento. Mission level: Green. Objective: Tell Asia Argento the truth about the Church and Fallen Angels, and gain her agreement to become your family.
Shuo barely registered the mission. All his attention was on the girl herself. Seeing her standing there—alone, anxious, but still radiating kindness—he felt a twinge of real sympathy.
He knew her story. Once hailed as a saint for her miraculous healing—a Sacred Gear that could mend the wounds of humans and angels alike. But when she healed a devil, the Church branded her a witch, stripped her of her title, and cast her out. The Fallen Angels took her in, but only as a tool. Through it all, she never lost her gentle spirit.
Shuo stepped forward, switching to perfect English. "Excuse me, do you need some help?"
Asia blinked, startled by the sudden kindness. Then, as if a prayer had been answered, she clasped her hands around her cross, cheeks flushing. "Oh Lord, you heard my prayer!" she whispered, eyes shining with gratitude.
Shuo's lips twitched. He almost laughed, but held it in.
If only you knew, Asia… Your God hasn't been around for a long time. No amount of praying will change that. But he kept the thought to himself. There would come a time for her to learn the truth—just not yet.
Asia managed a shy smile, her voice barely above a whisper. "Um, hello. My name is Asia Argento. It's my first time here, and I don't speak Japanese, so I got lost looking for the church. I… I don't know what to do."
Her embarrassment was so genuine, so pure, it made Shuo's heart ache a little. The nun's habit, the soft, hesitant voice—it was almost too much.
"You're looking for the church, right?" he said gently.
She nodded, eyes hopeful. "Yes, could you please tell me how to get there?"
"No need to worry. I've got time—I'll take you myself," Shuo replied, waving off her concern.
"Oh, and my name's Shuo Nangong. You can just call me Shuo."
Asia's face lit up, cheeks rosy, eyes crinkling into little crescent moons. "Thank you so much, Shuo-san. You're such a good person. The Lord will surely bless you!"
Shuo couldn't help but grin.
A good person, huh? Did I just get hit with the good guy card?
Come on, Asia—I'm here to kidnap you, not earn sainthood.
