Chapter 46
The Shattering
"This girl is as good as dead… I used my ability, the Blue Poison, on her five minutes ago. She will die in ten more minutes, and you won't be able to save her."
Mo Bi finished his words, and once again his murderous laughter rose, grating against Einver's ears and igniting his fury to the very edge.
Without a thought, without hesitation, Einver seized his sword and struck Mo Bi's neck with absolute precision, severing it without delay. He then grasped the body and absorbed it into his spiritual sea, before embracing Mai Ko.
"If I run toward the palace, it will take me more than fifteen minutes to get there because of my wounds… Fine, it's time… My body may shatter, I may truly die, but there is no turning back now."
Activation of the Dominion of Darkness Technique!
Einver entered his spiritual sea, closed his eyes quickly, then gazed upon the beautiful planets surrounding him. His form transformed into a dark giant, twisted crimson eyes blazing with indescribable wrath, a colossal body radiating a crushing aura of power.
Einver grasped the ground with his shadowy right hand, then looked at his left. With a single thought, the energy of darkness extended from his hand into a sphere of shadow. When Einver transforms into the Creator Giant within his spiritual world, his body is whole, composed not of flesh or bone but of the aura of light and darkness. Thus his form remained complete and unbroken in the transformation.
He began extracting energy from both, and after five seconds in the real world, a blood-drenched black aura surrounded his body. His eyes blazed red, his left eye bleeding luminous blood. A demonic, bloody aura seeped from him like the prelude to a destructive storm.
Einver held Mai Ko tightly, then struck the ground with force, leaping out of the tavern, shattering the earth beneath his feet and piercing through the ceiling in an instant.
He fixed his sight on the palace, struck the air behind him, and launched forward at a speed far surpassing Mo Bi's.
Thanks to the compression of magical force beneath his feet, Einver could fly several meters above the ground, but every second of this exertion consumed more of his magical power.
Your body is now filled with strength equal to the Sky Realm, Initial Stage, thanks to the Dominion of Darkness Technique. Your body will not withstand more than two minutes. If used longer, your body will begin to shatter.
A warning window appeared before Einver. He ignored the words and continued pounding against the air with his feet, rushing forward, resolved to save Mai Ko.
Inside the palace, Mai Na stood at the dining hall door, knocking:
"Einver… Mai Ko… it is time for dinner. The princess has summoned you, Einver, to the banquet in the dining hall. Come quickly."
No one responded.
"Forgive me for intruding."
He opened the door, only to find the room empty.
"Damn it, where did they go? Don't tell me Mai Ko bothered Einver about the tournament festival and persuaded him to go with her…"
After the princess had regained consciousness, and after Einver killed Sin Ka and dispelled his ability from her, Mai Na explained everything that had happened that day to Princess Sen Mi.
That night, the princess stepped out before the people and gave a speech. First, she apologized for her past actions, then she unveiled the dark truth and the schemes her uncle Sin Ka had been weaving behind closed doors, laying bare all that had transpired.
She declared that after long suffering under her uncle's control, she had managed to overthrow him during a moment of weakness, thus saving herself and the city from his vile schemes. She made no mention of Einver, for she did not know whether he was righteous or wicked.
Afterward, she congratulated the four victors of the tournament and presented them with gifts and insignias of valor: golden crests in the shape of a sun, inscribed with the words, "Brave Heroes of Sunlight City." These crests stood as symbols of honor and greatness.
She invited the four to a grand banquet the next day and commanded the people to celebrate their heroes. The celebration began as a magnificent festival, filled with laughter and joyous cheer.
"What should I do if Einver went to the festival? He'll be late in returning… Very well, I must inform the princess."
Mai Na made his way to the dining hall, opened the door, and saw the large, splendid chamber with a table laden with exquisite food and drink.
The princess sat at the head of the table, with Mi No, Mi Ni, Nan Wu, and Nan Wei seated along the sides.
Mai Na entered after announcing himself, stepped forward calmly, and said:
"My lady, I apologize… I did not find Einver in his chamber. I am certain he went to the festival with my daughter. Forgive me, Princess."
Princess Sen Mi smiled softly and replied:
"Think nothing of it. It is neither your fault nor Einver's… It is mine, for not informing him of the banquet earlier. Very well, forgive me, honored heroes. It seems our guest will not be joining us. You may begin your meal."
She lifted her cup high.
"To the brave heroes!"
The four heroes responded:
"To the great Princess Sen Mi!"

Warning, Warning, Warning: You have used the Dominion of Darkness Technique for five minutes. You must stop, or your body will shatter into pieces.
The warning returned again and again, cautioning of destruction. Yet nothing catastrophic occurred. Einver felt his body breaking apart, but death did not come.
He could not understand why his body endured. But at that moment, had he looked closely, he would have seen a faint blue aura encircling him alongside the dreadful darkness—an aura of the same hue as the system's window.
"Damn it, damn it…"
Warning…
Einver struck the air behind his feet and shot forward. Six minutes had passed since activating the Dominion of Darkness Technique. Pain surged through his body, his bones quaked with every movement, injuries tore open, and blood mingled with his crimson robe. All of this from the Dominion of Darkness.
By using the technique, Einver's body had gained strength equivalent to someone one realm and one stage above him. He was in the Earth Realm, Advanced Stage, but with the technique, his power ascended to the Sky Realm, Initial Stage. His body was untrained to endure such force. Thus the system advised a five-minute limit, warning of dire consequences beyond that.
His speed began to falter, yet the palace finally came into sight. He muttered:
"I have no choice… Damn it."
Activation of the Mad Slayer Title!
Warning: We advise against this action, for the consequences will be dire. Your body cannot endure the pressure of the Blood Darkness Technique after the Dominion of Darkness. If you activate the title alongside the aura of Dominion of Darkness, you will gain additional power for one minute, but the repercussions will be severe, and you will regret it. Do you confirm use of this power? Yes or No?
Einver replied swiftly:
"To hell with everything… I have no choice but to use Jimamero no Yami! I will not hesitate!"
His trembling body quaked violently as he plummeted from the sky, but before he struck the ground, an immense force erupted—darker and bloodier than before. A circular aura expanded around him, stretching nearly two hundred meters.
Einver struck the air with power and surged toward the palace.
In the dining hall, the princess dined with the heroes while Mai Na stood behind her, eyes closed. At that instant, the destructive aura engulfed the room, blasting the doors from their hinges.
A horrific, bloody barrier formed, freezing all within—save one. A blood-soaked man entered, his body battered and torn, breathing heavily, eyes blazing crimson, his left eye bleeding. His face cloaked in shadow, no one recognized him but Mai Na.
The princess cried out:
"Who are you? Identify yourself now!"
The heroes were crushed beneath the blood-soaked aura, unable to move in the presence of the beast before them.
Mai Na shouted:
"Einver! What are you doing?!"
Einver staggered forward, his face revealed as the darkness receded. At the head of the table, he held a small girl in his right arm and spoke in a hoarse, fading voice, on the verge of collapse:
"Help her quickly… She has been poisoned by a Black Spy!"
Then Einver deactivated both the title and the technique, and everything returned to normal. His eyes dulled.
Mai Na rushed forward and looked at the girl—his daughter. He tried to pull her from Einver's grip, but Einver's arm clamped around Mai Ko tightly.
Mai Na shouted:
"I will help her, Einver, let go!"
Einver's arm slackened unconsciously, and Mai Ko fell into her father's embrace. Mai Na clutched her tightly and screamed, while Einver collapsed from exhaustion, eyes shutting as he drifted into slumber.
---
In a white, serene room, Einver slowly opened his eyes. To his right, an open window let in birdsong.
He raised his hand to his face and felt a bandage over his left eye. With a sigh, he muttered:
"Damn it… My body really aches."
He heard something fall and shatter. Looking toward the sound, he saw Mai Ko entering through the door, fully healed, no trace of injury upon her.
Einver smiled faintly:
"Hello, Mai Ko… How are you?"
Mai Ko rushed to him, throwing her arms around him, sobbing:
"I thought you'd never wake up… Why did you do all this for me? I missed you, and my heart ached every time I looked at you… I'm sorry, brother!"
Her words were cut off by Einver's strained, gasping voice:
"Enough, Mai Ko… I'm fi—… Damn it… I can't breathe… Stop squeezing me, please… My bones really hurt…"
Hearing that, Mai Ko quickly eased her hold, smiling softly, trying to comfort him.
Minutes later, Einver regained some strength, breathing deeply before speaking gently:
"Tell me, Mai Ko… how are you now?"
She smiled warmly and answered in a calm tone:
"I'm fine, brother… I'm fully healed. Thank you for saving me."
Einver smiled faintly, then asked:
"But how did you recover so fast? I'm happy, but weren't you poisoned? How could your body heal in just one day?"
Mai Ko fell silent for a moment, then looked at Einver with worry and a sorrowful smile:
"Brother… it hasn't been one day. Six months have passed since you fell asleep… You've been in a coma for half a year."
Einver's eyes widened in shock:
"What?!"
He shouted in disbelief:
"Damn it… Six months? I was in a coma for six months? What happened?! These are the consequences of using the technique alongside the title… My body couldn't endure such power and collapsed… Mo Bi's poison, the Dominion of Darkness Technique, and then the Blood Darkness Technique… My body couldn't handle them all at once, yet I foolishly forced it. My body shut down for six months to heal… That is the instinct of the human body—to close every function and consciousness, accepting only treatment, to recover faster."
Einver sighed softly, finally understanding the reason for it all.
"Where is your father, Mai Ko?"
She answered gently:
"I'll call him."
But before she could move, she collapsed onto Einver again, fast asleep.
Einver looked at her in concern, but then noticed the dark circles beneath her eyes and realized:
"This foolish girl… she hasn't slept in a long time."
He smiled faintly and stroked her head softly, soothing her into rest.
Moments later, the door burst open and an old man entered, speaking gently:
"Mai Ko… Didn't I tell you to rest a little? You haven't had any proper sleep in a whole week… You must care for your body, daughter."
Mai Na looked around, only to see Einver awake, sitting upright on the bed, gazing out the window, Mai Ko asleep by his side.
The old man froze, stunned, then rushed toward Einver. But before he could embrace him, Einver raised a hand:
"Stop… Don't break my bones, please…"
He hadn't realized the hand he raised was his severed left arm.
Mai Na ignored it and wrapped Einver tightly in his arms:
"You've finally awakened, boy… Everyone was so worried about you… Truly… What happened that day? Tell me."
Einver gasped, struggling for breath:
"Damn it… Old man… Let go… You'll kill me."
Mai Na released him at once, and Einver panted heavily, trying to steady his breath.
"Unbelievable… I've fought for years, and no one managed to kill me… Yet you nearly did, old man… Damn it!"
Mai Na burst into laughter, while Einver, after a few minutes, caught his breath again.
Slowly, he asked:
"Has it really been six months?"
The old man answered with sorrow:
"Yes."
Einver exhaled softly and said in a low voice:
"Alright then… I will tell you everything."
Einver recounted all that had happened to Mai Na from start to finish, except for the details of his eye injury. Yet after persistent urging, he forced himself to reveal it all. Tears streamed down Mai Na's face until he collapsed onto a chair, bowing his head toward Einver.
"Thank you for saving my daughter… Because of me, you lost your eye and fell into a coma for six months… I'm sorry for putting you through this danger… I truly deserve death."
Einver shook his head firmly:
"Damn it, old man… It's not your fault… I wasn't strong enough to save your daughter and myself quickly. My weakness is the reason behind all of this. Don't apologize… Please, stand up."
Mai Na stopped crying, lifted his head, and sat once more, his gaze falling upon Einver's left eye with deep sorrow.
Einver, noticing that look, smiled faintly and said:
"Didn't I tell you before, old man? Everyone loses people or things dear to them. The true test of one's character is what you do after they're gone… What will you do when you've lost a hand, a foot, or an eye? That is life's trial for you. And I know what I'll do… I will keep moving forward."
The old man smiled gently, like a grandfather gazing proudly at his grandson, and said:
"Boy… There are things I wish to ask you, now that we are alone."
