Chapter 26 - Magic Encyclopedia

"Lord Ren! Lord Ren! The magic encyclopedia is complete, and the basic knowledge you asked me to filter has been uploaded. What should we do next? Should we release this feature directly?"

In the morning, Ren woke from sleep. The moment he opened the window, the book appeared from somewhere again.

Even after obtaining godhead and gathering massive faith power, Ren still frequently dreamed about being sacrificed.

According to Betty and the book's analysis, that event had very likely been imprinted deep in his soul, then further strengthened after becoming a holy spirit. Perhaps only after becoming a god could he completely escape that nightmare-like experience.

Breathing out a long breath, Ren barely calmed his emotions and pushed away the depression brought by sleep: "Install it on my Magic Net Ring first. I'll test it, and if there are no problems, we'll release it."

Magic Encyclopedia—this was another new feature Ren conceived after Magic Space and private chat.

Similar to Wikipedia Encyclopedia from his previous life, it was a network encyclopedia that all Magic Net users could freely edit and consult—a reference tool.

After testing, aside from being crude, there were no problems, which satisfied Ren greatly: "Good enough, release it!"

At these words, the book's surface clearly glowed with red light—apparently getting Ren's approval made him very happy.

Kingdom of Dawn Royal Capital Runic Society.

Horace sat somewhat bored in the lab corner, browsing Magic Space and helping newly emerged users with questions. Ever since magic bombs appeared in the capital, his teacher had been constantly cooperating with the president on experiments, leaving this apprentice suddenly idle.

Every day was just studying and intensive internet use.

"Why do these new users not seem like Kingdom of Dawn people?" After helping a magician familiarize himself with Magic Space, Horace couldn't help muttering: "But whatever—as long as they know I'm 'Magician's Apprentice.'"

[Update Notice: Magic Internet adds 'Magic Encyclopedia' function. Click for details.]

[Magic Encyclopedia is a knowledge-sharing platform jointly initiated by the Goddess of Magic and God of Technology, dedicated to creating a multilingual, multi-content encyclopedia that anyone can participate in building—complete, accurate, and neutral...]

"Magic Encyclopedia? Multiple languages? Anyone can participate? An encyclopedia encompassing all knowledge? My Goddess of Magic! Is this real?! Can this actually be done?!"

Horace's pupils shrank sharply, his face full of disbelief.

Even as the first person in the capital to activate a Magic Net Ring, facing this feature, his mind instantly filled with incredulity!

Really couldn't believe it!

Any knowledge was precious—that was everyone's consensus.

In this world, nobles always liked using their family libraries to prove their wealth. Magicians always required apprentices to pay certain costs to learn new knowledge. For this, some apprentices even had to assist teacher experiments, sometimes dying on the spot could be considered lucky!

But now, this new Magic Internet feature actually wanted people to input their own knowledge and share it freely with others... How could anyone be willing?

Horace quickly confirmed his thoughts in Magic Space.

"Good heavens! Has the Goddess of Magic been bewitched by that God of Technology? How could she have such terrible ideas?"

"Freely sharing knowledge you possess, letting anyone view it for free? This... this is simply unreasonable!"

"Rumor has it the Goddess of Magic is the teacher of all spellcasters—dragons, elves, humans. This does fit her behavioral logic."

"Even teaching apprentices requires letting them know knowledge's value—definitely not such unconditional free sharing!"

Watching these 'master magicians'' comments, Horace couldn't help showing an 'of course' expression.

At the same time, he couldn't help thinking that much knowledge seemed to disappear from this world precisely because of such rigid conservatism.

Just like what his teacher, Unlucky Drew, had been researching recently—a rune called Float. This was a magical rune explored by a famous grand magician from the Kingdom of Dawn 800 years ago. Just carving it on a carpet would let even low-level magicians fly.

But now, their Runic Society, even the entire capital, even the entire magical world, didn't have a single magician who could replicate it.

If there had been such a Magic Encyclopedia back then, if that legendary grand magician could have documented 'Float,' wouldn't most magicians now be able to master such flying magical devices?

Horace's thoughts drifted away...

Many people had similar thoughts.

"Lord Ren, I don't mean to question you, but the current public opinion in Magic Space... the opinion trend really isn't good. Everyone seems to think knowledge should only be exchanged equivalently, even that knowledge should be kept to oneself rather than taught to anyone else. In such an environment, our Magic Encyclopedia function simply can't operate normally. How about I just..."

As the server, the book instantly read those comments and couldn't help suggesting to Ren.

"You've already uploaded enough basic knowledge. Now it's up to them. We can't 'bestow' all knowledge on them—that would only make magicians lose their desire to explore mysteries."

Ren didn't let the book finish before directly suppressing his bold idea: "But it's not impossible to upload some bait... How about this—go to the doll and share the technology for producing magic bombs."

"Magic bombs?!" The book was puzzled: "If we can share magic bombs, why can't we share some magical forbidden spells..."

"Book, the encyclopedia's significance isn't in possessing profound knowledge." Ren's tone was serious: "Don't randomly share things I don't allow you to share. Go find Betty now! After you upload the magic bomb production method, come back here. I'll teach you how to stimulate these magicians to share their own knowledge."
