The heartless Anton and Eddie finally remembered Phil Yurick, who shared a name with Phil Coulson.
After greeting Annie and Levis, they left the hotel and contacted the long-forgotten Phil.
"Boss, Editor-in-Chief, you guys are awesome!"
Phil Yurick was extremely excited to see them: "Your video is all over the internet! There are screenshots of you two everywhere! Especially the part where you, Boss, jumped from the sky chariot to save people. Countless people think it's the craziest scene of the year. That video blogger must be making a fortune off this video!"
"What?"
Anton looked at Phil in surprise, blatantly lying: "What are you talking about? What me jumping from a sky chariot? You've got the wrong person."
"No way, Boss, you're Batman, you can't fool me!"
As an insider who had been undercover in San Francisco for so long, and with his occasional communication with Anton and Eddie, Phil had long realized that Anton was no ordinary person and held him in high regard.
To a certain extent, he was the one who understood Anton the best after he'd arrived.
As an insider, Phil could distinguish the truth from the rumors circulating online.
Coupled with his extraordinary intuition, he was certain that Anton was Batman.
"You shouldn't say things like that, it will mislead people."
Anton weakly refuted, patted Phil on the shoulder, and smiled, "Phil, you played a part in successfully thwarting the Life Foundation this time. When you get back, you'll be Eddie's assistant, and you'll also be swimming in money from the bonus this time."
"Thank you, boss."
Phil was overjoyed, but then cautiously added, "Boss, don't worry, I won't talk about Batman casually, but could you sign something for me? Just write 'Batman' on it, or 'Bruce Wayne' would be fine too. I'm a huge fan of yours, ah, no, of Batman's."
Anton sighed.
"Also, the two monsters that fought on the Golden Gate Bridge yesterday, one of them was Carlton Drake, and the other..."
Phil swallowed, feeling like he'd missed a lot.
He looked at Eddie, "Editor, that monster wasn't you, was it?"
"It's not a monster, it has a name."
Eddie found the question irritating. He'd originally considered giving Phil some money from his own million, but that idea vanished instantly. He explained, "It's called Venom. It's an alien creature, or you can call it a Symbiote."
"I have to say, your look is a bit... peculiar. Uh, how should I put it? Like God created man and accidentally sneezed too hard."
Phil, being a chatterbox, couldn't control himself, but he thought he was being very tactful.
Eddie's mouth twitched.
"I don't like him."
Venom's voice echoed in his mind: "He actually said I'm ugly! I'm going to eat this guy! He's definitely the bad guy you mentioned in our previous agreement!"
"No, he's just got a big mouth!"
Eddie gritted his teeth, lowering his voice.
"Editor, what are you saying?"
Phil looked at Eddie curiously.
"I'm talking to that monster you mentioned. It's currently parasitizing my body." Eddie said menacingly, "He was angered by your comment about his looks, and now he says he wants to eat you..."
"Huh?"
Phil's face turned white with fright, and he quickly explained, "No, no, no, I didn't say it's ugly, I just... I just think it's too... unrefined! Yes, unrefined!"
Eddie was speechless.
Isn't that still saying it's ugly?
"Alright, I have things to handle back in New York, so I won't waste any more time. Eddie, do you want to go back with me?"
Anton interrupted them.
"I'll pass, I plan to stay for a couple more days."
Eddie shook his head.
Hearing this, Anton immediately thought of Annie, and then of Levis, and felt that the top of Levis's head looked even greener. Finally, he looked at Phil.
Phil actually didn't want to go back to New York right away. He'd wanted to catch up with Eddie, but then he thought about the monster inside Eddie and shivered. He said resolutely, "Boss, of course I'll go with you."
Anton nodded and said goodbye to Eddie, "I'll be waiting for you in New York."
"Okay." Eddie watched them leave.
"Boss, is this your private jet?"
Phil was experiencing the private jet of a wealthy family for the first time, and he was filled with envy, jealousy, and resentment.
Anton had booked a ticket to get here, but to make the return trip easier, he had Jameson send his family's plane after arriving in San Francisco.
"This is so awesome!"
Phil looked blissful, thinking about the bonus he was about to receive, feeling it was a worthwhile trip.
"Sir, the plane is about to take off, please fasten your seatbelt."
A beautiful stewardess walked over, swaying her hips, and smelling of perfume, smiling at Phil.
Phil's eyes widened.
Anton was already used to this, and was resting with his eyes closed.
A few hours later, the plane arrived in New York. The two of them walked out of the airport, where Betty was already waiting outside.
"Miss Betty."
Phil saw her and grinned: "Long time no see."
"Phil."
Betty greeted, looking at Anton: "Something's happened."
"What?"
Anton was taken aback, puzzled: "What could possibly happen?"
"It's about Batman's identity."
Betty hinted: "A lot of people now think you're Batman. The internet is practically writing your epitaph."
"Impossible!"
Anton shrugged: "They don't have any proof!"
Betty's heart skipped a beat. Anton's words didn't deny he was Batman.
"Don't forget, you flew to San Francisco, and then Batman appeared in San Francisco, and solved the Life Foundation's founder, Carlton Drake. He's a sworn enemy of the Daily Bugle," Betty said immediately.
"How did the internet know I was in San Francisco?" Anton frowned.
"Don't overestimate the airlines' principles."
Betty showed a look of disdain, and was gleeful: "Anyway, you'd better think about how to face the media's questions first."
"Shit! Damn airlines!"
Anton's face was unsightly.
It wasn't that Batman's identity couldn't be exposed at all. The problem was that he wasn't Tony Stark. He wasn't good at high-profile exposure and hadn't prepared for it.
"Don't respond to any online discussions for now."
Anton thought for a moment, his face still sour. "I don't want to do any media interviews right now, including with the Daily Bugle."
"Understood."
Betty shrugged. "Also, Batman has broken $400 million at the box office. Overseas, it's reached $200 million. That's $600 million worldwide. Congratulations, you genius director."
"It's not over yet. There's still about two weeks left in the screening period."
Anton finally heard some good news and smiled. "My goal is a billion worldwide."
"Oh, and Jim has been trying to find you. He asked me to tell you that he wants to throw a party to celebrate Shadow of Mystery breaking $600 million worldwide."
Betty continued, "I think this is a good opportunity to announce the Jameson family's official entry into the entertainment industry."
"That makes sense."
Anton replied, "Tell Jim I agree."
