Chapter 15 - A deal with the devil
I looked up to him, and I recognized him, Xavier's rival pack alpha, his eyes sharp with cunning and somethin darker. His wolves fanned out behind him, ready to strike.
He stepped forward slowly, almost lazily, like a predator that knew it prey couldn't escape.
"Well, well" His voice was a velvet coated blade. "The lost little she wolf, and without your precious Alpha Xavier to save you".
My jaw clenched at the name, that name burned in my chest like a wound I couldn't tear out. Xavier. My heart screamed for him, but my mind hissed with betrayal.
It flashed in my head again - Seraphine draped over him, his hands on another woman, his mouth claiming lips that weren't mine.
I straightened up, pushing my pain deeper into my head. "I don't need him." I said, my voice low and steady. "I need revenge."
Silco's voice arched, amused. "On your 'precious' Xavier."
My voice didn't waver. "On everyone who's ever betrayed my trust, and right now, he's at the top off the list".
A slow dangerous smile tugged his lips. "And why should I help you?". I took a step closer. "Because together, we can destroy him, you've wanted his throneand position for years. I can give him to you - broken".
Silco's eyes studied me, calculating, not seeing me as an enemy, but as a weapon. Finally he leaned in, hus breath brushing my ear. "Careful little wolf, when you make a deal with the devil , you don't walk away unchanged".
"I'm already changed". I whispered back. "He made sure of that". Silco chuckled and turned to her warriors. "Take her. She's under my protection now".
The wolves closed in, but this time, I followed them willingly, as I walked with them, every step a vow.
I would smile at the enemies, sharpen myself into a weapon so deadly, even Xavier wouldn't see me coming.
But deep in my heart, my heart still betrayed me, beating for the Alpha I swore to destroy.
Meanwhile, back at Xavier's pack house....
The taste of Seraphine still lingered bitterly in his mouth, no matter how hard he tried to spit it out. It had been a blur - her touch, her whispers, the heat of the moment, A mistake, A trap, something screamed something wasn't right.
His boots slammedagainst the cold pavement floor as he stalked down to the cell, rage twisting in his gut.
The scent hit him first, wrong, empty
He reached my cell and froze - The chains lay on the ground. The door hung open.
Empty.
For a heartbeat, he couldn't move. Then a roar tear out from his chest. So deep and furious, it shooked the walls. Warriors came running - but it only fueled his rage.
"WHERE IS SHE?! His voice was like a thunder clap of rage.
One warrior stammered. "W-We... don't know Alpha...."
He slammed the warrior into the wall so hard, the stone cracked, his claws pressed into the man's throat. "You had ONE job!"
"Alpha, please - "
His control snapped, his aura blasting through the cells, choking every warrior present. One wrong word more and blood would spill.
But somewhere, deep in the cold night, a cold wind carried a new scent toward his senses.
Silco's.
Mingling with mine.
Xavier's eyes turned full feral crimson red as he snarled one deadly vow:
"I will burn the world to get her back".
