[VINCE]
At first, Vince barely spared Emy a glance.
She was just another debtor thrown into the Abyss Tech machine, one of countless pawns working off impossible loans by doing whatever shady task the corporation demanded.
Vince had seen hundreds like her—desperate, broke, and naïve. Most of them cracked within weeks. They either begged for mercy, tried to escape, or got swallowed whole by the endless grind.
So when Ricky, his right-hand man, reported that Emerald Light was planning to escape her debt, Vince's only reply was a cold, "Put her in the system."
And that was supposed to be the end of it.
But Vince had not expected Emy.
She wasn't quiet like the others. She wasn't submissive either. From day one, she was . . . loud. Loud in the break room, loud at her station, loud when she cursed at the outdated computers Abyss Tech forced her to use.
