Ethan's POV
Sleep was impossible.
I turned over for what felt like the hundredth time, my sheets tangled around me, my body hot with frustration. My wolf prowled just beneath my skin, restless, claws scraping, demanding action.
What the hell was happening?
Soraya's silence in the hallway kept replaying in my mind like a curse. She hadn't denied it — not once. Not when the priestess had said she was a wolf. Not even when I asked her straight to her face if she was a wolf.
She had just stood there.
Silent.
Like she couldn't even give me the truth after everything we had shared.
I shoved the blankets off me and sat up, breathing hard.
No. This didn't make sense. None of it.
I brought her here myself. She was just a damn sales girl in my company back in the city, working in the sales department like everyone else. She couldn't have been a spy. And yet…
My fists clenched.
Why would she hide this from me? Why had to made us all believe she was a human?
