Harley's classmates were astonished. In the time it took to have a get-together, she'd not only sent her classmates behind bars but also taken out their boss.
Lin Chen patted Howard on the shoulder. Before he could say anything,
Howard's legs gave way, and he collapsed to the ground. "Lin Daoist, I really didn't commit a crime. I was just bragging. Actually, I'm just a small clerk in a Wayne Enterprises subsidiary... Bragging isn't illegal, right?"
Lin Chen's mouth twitched. "Howard, sometimes bragging can still get you into trouble. But I just wanted to tell you that there's a bit of blood on your shirt."
Harley Quinn stifled a laugh, pinching Lin Chen hard.
The classmates who attended the gathering left the Iceberg Lounge with lingering fear. They would likely remember today's experience for the rest of their lives.
On the street,
"Hahahaha"
Harley Quinn burst into laughter, her body shaking, "Oh, you're killing me!"
The two of them had already walked quite a distance from the restaurant.
"I just can't help it when I think about Howard."
"And that poor kid Mord, he's probably going to get beaten up in prison. What a sad case!"
Suddenly, she hugged Lin Chen tightly and started nibbling on him, "Lin, I'm so happy to have met you."
Lin Chen scratched her high nose, "You're a violent woman yourself, and it seems like you know a bit about fighting."
Harley Quinn waved her fist, "Don't underestimate me, I've trained. I can handle a few ordinary thugs."
Lin Chen sighed, "I was originally going to teach someone a few moves, but since she's so amazing, I guess I won't bother."
Harley Quinn was overjoyed and quickly hugged Lin Chen's arm, drawing out her words, "Oh my, Daoist, teach me! I really want to learn!"
Lin Chen laughed, "You have excellent flexibility; you're a great material for martial arts."
Harley suddenly blushed, "Daoist, you're so bad."
Lin Chen was baffled, "What? I'm not trying to be suggestive!"
Harley suddenly sighed, "Ugh, I guess no one will invite me to these class reunions anymore. Honestly, I'm really happy!"
The two chatted and laughed all the way to Harley Quinn's building. "Alright, I'll pick you up for work tomorrow."
Harley suddenly pounced and gave him a peck, then quickly ran upstairs, afraid she wouldn't be able to resist asking Lin Chen up.
Lin Chen waited until the lights in Harley's apartment came on, then got on his motorcycle and headed home.
Harley stood by the window, watching the departing figure, and sighed softly, "This damn charm, how am I supposed to sleep tonight!"
Hess Bar,
Black Mask's territory.
Lin Chen glanced as he rode past, then suddenly stopped his bike.
He saw a familiar figure, a slender waist, black leather jacket and pants, and high heels. She was leaning against a streetlight pole, swaying under the dim yellow light, looking like she could fall at any moment.
"Catwoman? She's completely hammered."
Lin Chen parked and walked over. It was indeed Catwoman. A few burly men with shaved heads, thick gold chains, and black vests were looking at her with ill intent.
Apparently, these guys wanted to try "Picking Up." Seeing a girl with such a perfect figure and looks, they could brag about it for the rest of their lives.
Lin Chen walked over, intending to help Catwoman.
"Kid, get your filthy hands off her!"
"We've been waiting here for ages, and you just cut in line? Where's your decency?"
"With your looks, why don't you just go hit on someone at a bar!"
"Exactly, shameless!"
"Gotham City is ruined by people like you who cut in line!"
Several burly, bald men began to berate Lin Chen.
Lin Chen thought they made a good point!
"Come on, who's the thug here? Are you sure you have the right person? I know her."
Catwoman swayed her head, her face flushed, and shoved Lin Chen. "I don't know you, stop trying to take advantage of me."
"Catching a thug! Let go of me!" Catwoman yelled.
Lin Chen grabbed Catwoman's hand and listened to her pulse. It was strong and powerful, a little slower than normal. There was no sign of drunkenness at all. He smiled.
Catwoman saw his smile and felt a chill. This guy's smiles never meant anything good.
As expected, Lin Chen put his arm around Catwoman's slender waist and kissed her hard on the face.
"Honey, don't be angry. It's just that I didn't buy you a bag. You're pretending not to know me."
The few burly, bald men looked at each other. Could this guy really know this beauty?
Catwoman was furious. She'd been planning to steal one of the safe keys held by one of the bald thugs. Black Mask had recently acquired a haul of valuable goods, and she was after them.
But then, this Lin Chen guy showed up out of nowhere and took advantage of her!
The bald thugs, seeing Lin Chen's practiced arm around her waist, actually thought Catwoman was his wife, but they were reluctant to let her go. A beauty like her was rare.
They exchanged glances, silently communicating.
Catwoman suddenly stretched, her perfect figure making everyone around her drool.
How could they hold back? They'd have to be the ultimate gentleman to do that!
"Damn it, whatever. We're Black Mask's guys, we're not afraid of anyone." One of the bald thugs threw a punch at Lin Chen.
"Kid, get lost!"
Bang! Lin Chen suddenly kicked out, his foot connecting squarely with the bald man's stomach.
The bald man screamed, flying backward and slamming into the other bald men behind him.
The four behind him couldn't catch him and were knocked down as well.
Lin Chen walked over and beat them while they were down, "You guys are eyeing my wife? You don't want to live!"
