Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 - Half - Trouble

Vanessa walked up to the door as she put her ear on the door frame eavesdropping.

"Stay calm, Marcel, I am your brother, and I want what's best for you. Once she injects you with this drug, it will kill and bring back whatever you have lost in your head." Donald smirked.

"What injection was Donald planning to give his brother, and why didn't he say so when the doctor was present?".

"Should I go in?. "What if Marcel gets angry and becomes abusive again?," She thought.

"Stop all this false and fake compassion, Donald. I know the real you. The filthy you, the cunning you and the bloody pretentious you." Marcel barked.

"I can't see the expressions on their faces, it was even pretty hard hearing their voices if not for the fact that they were shouting. But what exactly could they be talking about?". She leaned closer.

"Oh come on, Marcel, don't pretend to be so godly when you are just like me, you always have been worse, even more than me. Now you sit here with your big fat mouth talking crap about me being cunning." Donald replied.

"I know Marcel as an arrogant person, but I didn't know he was cunning. What exactly was Donald onto?." She thought about knocking, but stopped.

"You fool, I am never anything like you. Don't drag me down with you, I am the rightful CEO of Davidson enterprise and you are just a scum my father produced with another woman." Marcel replied, his voice full of frustration.

Vanessa gasped as she held her hands to her mouth.

"Donald is Marcel's half-brother, maybe that was why they never got along, but that wasn't all of it."

Donald laughed.

"Come on Marcel, don't be so rude now. You haven't recovered, just take this Injection and you will feel better, it will ease all of your pain as you drift to a land you where you will never return back here. And when you finally return, you will not feel any pain anymore."

Donald's face gave off a hardened smile as he spoke.

Vanessa gnashed her teeth. "What injection was Donald offering Marcel?".

"Do you take me for a fool or what, don't expect me to believe such words. I can never take anything from you, Donald, not now, not ever." Marcel replied.

"If not for the fact that I am so weak now, I would have sent you to the hospital bed right now, so back off with that silly girl of yours." Marcel's voice was firm.

"You may be older than me Marcel, but don't forget this. I am equally as powerful, and I would claim my rights in my father's company and become the CEO one day. And all you would have to do is watch from the sidelines, you are nothing, Marcel. Just one puny man hiding in a female bodyguard's arms."

Vanessa clenched her fists." You may have to watch your tongue Donald," she muttered.

"Don't be so full of yourself Donald. Vanessa isn't just any ordinary female bodyguard, she is a badass type."

Vanessa smiled unconsciously.

"What she has done for me, I believe not even a male bodyguard could do it, so don't ever talk about Vanessa in such a manner again." Marcel's voice went cold.

Donald laughed.

"Don't tell me you are falling for her already, your marriage is around the corner with Anna and here you are talking about your bodyguard like she is some princess. Vanessa is just like the women you always had in your life, just a toy to play with and dumb when tired, isn't that so, Marcel?." Donald's voice carried the sort of harshness she had never seen in anyone.

Vanessa swallowed hard.

"Here I was thinking all this time that Donald was by far better than Marcel, but clearly Donald carried the personality of a narcissist."

"Vanessa isn't any toy to me you fool. She is more important to me than you think, but that isn't something I expect you to understand Donald and this is because you can't differentiate between Love and hate, jealousy and freedom." Marcel replied.

"What the hell, I never knew Marcel had this sort of side about him." She hit her fists on the wall.

"I only saw the bad side of him all this time, I didn't see his charming and honest side. So clearly, all Donald ever wanted, and the feud that remained between the two brothers, was their father's wealth." She tightened her jaw.

"But Marcel was the eldest. Why was Donald still fighting to be CEO when he had an elder brother? I don't know what's going on, but I now see Donald in an entirely new light. He could do anything to achieve his desire, which makes him very dangerous even for Marcel."

She gripped her hands on the wall tightly.

"I won't let anyone harm him." She thought.

"But why am I so suddenly too worried about him, maybe it's because I am his bodyguard. But for a few days now, I have been thinking about him too much, and it gives me the creeps. Most times, I would try to remember his eyes again and his smile, which I hardly saw. What was it that pulled me closer to Marcel?."

"Mom is holding a party at the mansion next tomorrow. I need you to feel better quickly, don't be so stubborn, the doctor confirmed it was the best treatment to make you heal faster, so come on, give your hands to the nurse." Donald said with urgency in his voice.

"I said I am not getting injected with any drug from her, and if you think I would believe this girl is a nurse you must be stupid than I think. I won't arrest you for this, Donald, but if you should continue any further, I would have to inform the police myself about your actions and make sure you spend the rest of your life in jail for forcing me to be injected with an unidentified drug." Marcel was almost screaming.

"No matter what, Marcel, know this: I would become the CEO, and you would be under me for as long as I live." Donald's voice echoed in the room

Marcel collected the injection from the tray as the girl stepped back.

"I may have to do it myself." Donald said.

The door slammed open as everyone looked at it in shock.

"Are you deaf, Donald? Didn't you hear what Marcel said?. Back off now." She gritted her teeth with her eyes blazing like frost fire.
