Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 Sorting Ceremony

In front of the long table on the stage was a four-legged stool, and on the stool was a pointed Wizard hat that looked very historical with patches all over it.

The pointed Wizard hat was singing to itself at this moment, and only stopped when Professor McGonagall stepped forward.

"When I call someone's name, they will put on the hat, sit on the stool, and wait for the Sorting."

Professor McGonagall took out a roll of parchment:

"Colin Creevey!"

Colin's body stiffened, and he immediately trotted up, a little nervously, sat down, and put on the hat.

With almost no pause, the hat gave the answer:

"Gryffindor!"

All the Wizards at the Gryffindor table burst into applause, celebrating the addition of a new student to their house.

"Astoria Greengrass!"

"Slytherin!"

"Luna Lovegood!"

"Ravenclaw!"

"Ginny Weasley!"

"Gryffindor!"

As the little Wizards were called up one by one, it was soon George's turn.

"George!"

The moment George put on the Sorting Hat, just like the other little Wizards, he didn't hear any hesitation or questioning from the Sorting Hat, and the answer came directly.

"Slytherin!"

"It's actually Slytherin?"

A look of surprise appeared on George's face, but he quickly restrained his emotions, put down the Sorting Hat, and walked unhurriedly to the Slytherin table and sat down.

To be honest, he thought he would most likely be Gryffindor, and less likely Ravenclaw, but he didn't expect Slytherin.

But after thinking about it, he preferred to do things with a plan, had clear goals, and was sometimes more realistic, which was in line with some of Slytherin's characteristics.

Perhaps in his bones, he really preferred Slytherin's personality traits.

Slytherin doesn't mean bad. None of the four houses are absolutely good, and none are absolutely bad.

Gryffindor has also produced Wizards like Peter Pettigrew, and Slytherin also has Wizards like Regulus who sacrificed themselves to resist Voldemort, and would rather die than let a House-elf replace them.

The characteristics of the four houses are mostly positive in a large area.

Gryffindor is brave, Ravenclaw is knowledgeable, Hufflepuff is upright, and Slytherin is smart, ambitious, and has goals.

"Slytherin is fine too. Snape is more protective and proficient in Black magic. If he can win honor for Slytherin, there should be a lot to gain."

Coming back to his senses, the Sorting Ceremony was already over.

In fact, before, he had analyzed the personalities of each Dean for each house he might be assigned to, and made relevant response plans.

So even Slytherin wasn't a big problem.

Dumbledore said a few simple words, introduced the new Defense Against The Dark Arts Professor Gilderoy Lockhart, and announced the start of the banquet.

Then, countless delicacies made by house-elves instantly appeared on the four long tables, and the hungry little Wizards immediately began to gobble them up.

George also ate the food on the table, but he still kept a little attention on the long table in front of the stage.

Sure enough, before long, a Wizard with a thin body, sallow skin, a hooked nose, greasy black hair draped over his shoulders, wearing a black robe and cloak, and exuding a gloomy aura appeared at the entrance of the hall.

He walked quickly to the long table like a large bat, and any little Wizard he passed, regardless of which house or grade, couldn't help but hold their breath.

This person was none other than the Dean of Slytherin, Severus Snape.

The top Potions master, and also a magic expert second only to Dumbledore, Voldemort, and Grindelwald.

Snape said a few words to Dumbledore and McGonagall, and Professor McGonagall's face quickly turned ugly, and then the three of them walked out of the hall together.

"My father got promoted again in the Ministry of Magic."

"My mother bought me a wand worth twenty Galleons when I was seven."

"Hmph, what's that? I . . ."

At the Slytherin table, the first-year little Wizards began to show off their families and wealth while eating.

The little Wizards who can be assigned to Slytherin are basically descendants of pure-blood families, and very few are half-bloods. It is basically impossible for little Wizards to be born from pure Muggle families.

So some of them knew each other when they were young.

And even if they don't know each other, they will deliberately show off their family and wealth at this moment to ensure their status next.

George didn't participate in it. His body is most likely a half-blood. A Muggle mother had a relationship with a Wizard father, and then accidentally became pregnant. It is normal to give birth to a child and abandon it without wanting to burden herself if she can't find the father.

So in terms of family status, he is definitely at the bottom of Slytherin, so there is no need to make trouble for himself.

As a half-blood, as long as he shows absolute strength like Snape and Voldemort, he will naturally not lack status and followers.

Slytherin values blood, and even more so strength, of course, you must at least be a half-blood.

"Oh, Merlin's beard, it's The Bloody Baron, he looks so scary!"

At this moment, the little Wizards shuddered, because a terrifying ghost with a gaunt face, hollow eyes, and covered in blood suddenly came to the Slytherin table and sat down.

And the position he sat down in was right next to George.

George raised his head and glanced at The Bloody Baron, with a faint smile on his face, and nodded elegantly to The Bloody Baron, as if to say hello, and then continued to eat dinner unhurriedly.

What's the big deal about being covered in blood? He had seen everything in the laboratory. He had killed dozens of people, so how could he be afraid of this little bit of blood.

The Bloody Baron was obviously a little surprised that a first-year little Wizard could be so calm when he saw him for the first time.

However, as a Slytherin ghost, he was quite satisfied that Slytherin had such a courageous little Wizard, so he also nodded in response.

"Which family is he from, that he dares to say hello to The Bloody Baron?"

"I don't know, I haven't heard of him, he should be a half-blood."

"A half-blood? But he doesn't look like it. I think he looks like a Wizard from the Sacred Twenty-Eight families. He looks very elegant."

George's performance in front of The Bloody Baron naturally fell into the eyes of the entire Slytherin Wizard, and they were also a little curious about this elegant and bold little Wizard.

However, they quickly judged that George was a half-blood, because if he were a pure-blood, it would be impossible for them not to have even heard of him, and his name George was also very strange.

But even so, some little Wizards, especially first and second-year little witches, developed a slight affection for George.

This also made some little Wizards look at George with a little jealousy.
