Upon unlocking the door to the southeast conference room, Javier, Rebecca, and Billy enter to find rows of seats and, at the front, an old projector aimed at a screen. This must be where Marcus conducted his lessons and meetings. They head for the projector, finding two slots that perfectly fit the microfilms Billy had found.
Javier's sharp eyes spot a damaged document tucked away in a cabinet. It's not a formal report but a handwritten diary entry, a kind of frustrated rant. It talks about William and Wesker, calling them both cold-blooded and ruthless, yet brilliant. The writer notes that Marcus ordered them to compete, and they plan to make the two "hate each other."
Javier can't help but chuckle at this. He knows that in the future, these two would almost become family, with Wesker's son and William's daughter, Sherry, becoming partners.
Rebecca, hearing his laugh, asks what he's looking at. Javier quickly dismisses it as a "funny diary" from the Umbrella staff, not wanting to spoil the future. He changes the subject, asking Billy if he's had any luck with the projector.
Rebecca explains that the projector's wiring is old and Billy needs a moment to fix it. True to her word, Billy is busy with a lighter, burning the plastic insulation off the wires to twist them back together.
With a sizzle and a spark, the projector comes to life. It reads the microfilms and projects a black-and-white, top-down view of the conference room seats. A series of red numbers and letters are laid out on the image:

Just as they are about to figure out what this means, a drawer below the projector clicks open. Inside is a blue disk. Billy and Rebecca are confused, but Javier knows exactly what to do.
He notices a terminal on the lecture stand with a screen, keyboard, and disk drive. He has Billy insert the disk, and a blue interface with the Umbrella logo appears. A message flashes on the screen:
"Conference Room Emergency Passage Status: Locked. To unlock, insert exclusive disk... Disk detected. Please enter the password to unlock. Password is 0A..."
Javier types 0A into the keyboard, but nothing happens. He glances back at the projected image of the seating chart. He has a sudden realization. The password isn't typed; it's a command tied to the seats.
"I got it!" he exclaims. "Rebecca, Billy, look at the image on the screen. The password is 0A. That corresponds to the first seat in the first row and the third seat in the third row. Press the buttons on those seats at the same time!"
Rebecca and Billy follow his instructions and press the buttons. A loud click echoes through the room. The large sword of a knight statue slowly rises, and a hidden iron door swings open, revealing what must be the "emergency passage" mentioned on the screen.
