Chapter 18 - From the beginning, but alone

A week had passed since Everton died. Still depressed, Jack was at a detectives' bar having a few drinks.

glup glup glup...

"Listen, Jack, I think you'd better go home. It's getting really late, and it's not a good idea for you to keep drinking."

Said the bar man to the poor man in the table.

"Okay sir hic![1] How much is the bill?"

"No, you don't need to pay anything. All the bars in the area are in mourning, so the drinks are free."

"Thank you sir. Have a good night."

"Good night Jack."

Zuuuummm Pow (Door closing)

Tuc, tuc, tuc... (Jack's footsteps)

"Could it be that if I hadn't left right away, Everton wouldn't have died?"

Said Jack lost in his mind.

"Hmm, doesn't really matter right now. I think i will never be able to solve this case."

vuuuuuu (The wind starts to appear in the streets)

"Wind, it's going to get cold. I better go home soon."

vuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmm (Wind intensifies)

"Hey, goodness, it's getting stronger. Getting strong..."

Jack stopped walking after that

"Getting stronger... that happened every time. How i missed such an important factor. When a murder is about to happen, the rain always gets heavier before it happens!"

"My friend, if you're up there. I think i will be able to progress now, even if i am alone."
