Noah slowly started walking. He would have to find food quickly, then make a shelter and fire, otherwise he wouldn't be able to live till tomorrow.
With his cheap spear in hand, he wouldn't be able to kill any strong animal, so he was searching for a smaller one, like a rabbit or something like that.
It would be even better if he could find a water body, so that he could get water and fish from there.
Noah was very alert even though hunger was blurring his thought process. The creepiness of this forest made him fully focused.
Noah walked around for 15 minutes but didn't find anything useful. Only trees and snow could be seen everywhere his eyes passed.
But suddenly, he heard a sound of something behind a large tree.
He got excited and cautious too. If it was a small animal, it would be better, but what if it was a large animal?
He started breathing slowly and walking toward that tree with very light steps.
Soon, he reached the tree and looked at what was behind it.
It was a rabbit. A white-furred rabbit.
But the problem was this thing was the size of a dog from earth.
How come? How could a rabbit be this big?
It was showing its back toward him, eating something.
But at that moment Noah made a rookie mistake, and his feet landed on a small tree branch that broke with a sound.
The sound could be heard very clearly because the forest was very silent. That was the reason Noah felt it was a creepy forest.
The rabbit stopped what it was doing and looked back.
It was the moment when Noah and that rabbit's eyes met.
But what Noah saw made his soul almost leave his body.
The rabbit had red eyes and a horn on its head. Besides, it had blood on its mouth.
Noah finally saw what this rabbit was eating. It was a wolf.
Noah's every fiber started screaming danger.
But his legs froze with fear. He wanted to run at his top speed but those stupid legs wouldn't listen to him.
He was now facing a carnivore rabbit larger than normal dog and with a demonic look.
The rabbit squealed loudly and started running toward him with bottleneck speed.
Noah's fear only deepened when he saw the speed it was running at.
It was over. He would definitely die here. The Will just brought him here so that those monsters could have a meal with his flesh and blood, Noah was sure about it.
The rabbit reached very near and jumped at him.
At this very last moment, his body finally listened to his order and moved.
He jumped to his left and the rabbit lost its target.
It landed on the ground and looked at Noah with anger in its eyes.
Noah jumped off the ground, took his spear, and pointed it toward the rabbit, but his hands were shaking.
He was afraid. But humans are those types of creatures who could do anything if their backs are against a wall.
He suddenly felt very clear-minded. What could be the worst? He would die, right? He would also die if he didn't eat anything or get a fire before sunset.
Noah roared, "Come on, you bastard. Let's die together."
The rabbit responded with a roar of its own and jumped again toward him.
This time Noah was not afraid and pushed his spear forward.
The rabbit didn't think its prey would suddenly push its weapon forward and it couldn't control its body in mid-air.
The spearhead penetrated the belly of the rabbit because of the full force of its jump.
It was injured now and blood was gushing out.
But the spear also broke and Noah was defenseless now.
The rabbit roared with agony. Its anger reached its peak and it again ran toward him. This time it didn't jump.
Noah was a person who did exercise every day, so he was physically stronger than a normal guy.
Besides, now that he was in his zone mode, he was not afraid of anything.
The rabbit came near him and then jumped. Noah punched the head of the rabbit.
He felt like he just punched a wooden board.
His hand became numb. But the rabbit also missed its target and fell to the ground.
It was growling. The spearhead had just fallen from its belly and blood was gushing out.
Noah looked at this detail and thought that he just needed to survive for a few minutes, it would become weaker in the meantime because of its excessive blood loss.
Noah was surprised to find out that his battle sense was so good.
This was his first time fighting anything in his life. He never fought, not even with his friends.
Noah then got into a battle position he felt comfortable in so that he could clearly see the rabbit's movement.
The rabbit became a little cautious now.
It was also observing him.
It again ran toward him with its full speed. Noah kicked at the rabbit, but it jumped at the very last moment and he missed. This caught Noah off guard and he lost his balance.
The rabbit took this chance and slashed with its claw toward him.
It got Noah this time and tore the skin of his right shoulder.
Blood was coming out from the wound.
But Noah balanced himself too and counter-punched the rabbit, this time directly at its gut where the spearhead had penetrated.
The rabbit again fell to the ground.
Noah didn't waste any time and jumped where that spearhead had fallen and took it in his right hand.
This time, the rabbit and Noah both ran toward each other. Kill or be killed. Both of them were going for their final hit because Noah's energy was already burned and at any moment he would fall unconscious.
Noah held that spearhead like a knife, ready for stabbing.
And the rabbit jumped again. This time Noah turned his body slightly to the side and the rabbit missed Noah, but Noah didn't miss. He stabbed the spearhead with all his might into the neck of the rabbit and successfully did it.
The rabbit fell on the ground, twitched a little, and then slowly, its body came to a standstill.
The entire battlefield turned bloody, especially because of the white snow on the ground.
When Noah saw the rabbit finally die, he fell on the ground too.
He came out of his zone and all the pain and weakness instantly attacked him together.
He wanted to just die already. The pain felt inhumane. The pain wouldn't even let him faint.
Then he heard a voice in his head,
[Ding! You have killed a horned rabbit. 20 exp is gained. But you haven't got your talent yet, so you won't be able to level up and the exp will be stored for now.]
It was a notification he heard, but his brain was not functioning properly now to think what it was as he never played video games before.
He wanted to eat but he would need fire for that. Where would he get the fire now?
So he started to rest a bit so that he could gain some strength to carry that rabbit to somewhere safer and eat it.
Because the blood would surely lure other monsters here, as Ethan already saw a wolf that the rabbit was eating before.
He closed his eyes for a bit but the wound on his shoulder was making things worse.
He sat up and took some snow from the ground and rubbed it on the wound.
He knew there was a chance of infection, but the blood needed to stop coming out or else he would die even before getting infected.
It was very painful to rub ice on such a huge wound.
But he gritted his teeth and did it.
The blood finally stopped coming out after some time.
In this process, he also got some energy back to get up and move.
He carried the carcass of the rabbit on his uninjured left shoulder and started moving.
After walking for 30 minutes, he felt his legs wouldn't move an inch more even if he died.
So he stopped there as he saw a large tree.
He put the rabbit there and covered it with ice.
Then he sat down again to rest. He still needed dry wood and stover to light a fire, which would be another tough job to do. But to survive, he would have to do it.
He was about to curse the Will again with frustration but stopped at the right moment. He didn't want to get punished again.
After resting for a while, he finally felt that he could move again and stood up to find the materials to light a fire.
After searching for here and there, he found what he needed and returned to the tree where he had covered the carcass of the rabbit.
