Chapter 5 - Talent: Creation

Noah opened his eyes in the morning. He was extremely tired yesterday, but this full night of sleep gave him the necessary rest he needed very much.

But the wound on his shoulder had turned even worse. There was tremendous pain now that he was awake.

He couldn't do anything else except wait. If he could somehow survive this day, maybe he would be able to get some talent which would help him to treat this wound.

He could only hope. There was a saying,

"A drowning man would clutch a straw."

He removed a little bush from the entrance to watch the outside. But what he saw instantly filled his eyes with extreme fear.

Outside, seven horned rabbits were waiting, looking here and there.

It looked like they were searching for something.

Noah's luck was also good this time because he had found some extremely bad-smelling bush to cover the entrance, which also masked his own scent.

Noah was sure these rabbits had come for revenge. If they found out his whereabouts, he would die for sure.

The fire was also gone. The morning was very chilly without it. The wound hurt even more.

He needed some sunlight, but it was not possible right now.

He suddenly thought of his childhood. He had a little sister, his father, and mother—a little family of four. They didn't have much money, but they were happy. After that, he got admitted to one of the best universities out there with a scholarship and left the family.

He wanted to introduce Mira to his family once he got a proper job.

He laughed with sorrow, "I am really going to die, ain't I? If I only could give my family a better life they deserved. Please forgive me, Mom, forgive me, Dad, forgive me, Luna."

Tears were rolling down his eyes.

The wound was getting worse with every passing moment. The claw of the rabbit was not that simple. It had slow poison in it.

Now it started taking effect.

He felt his body temperature rising higher and higher.

He now had a very high fever. What a bitchy life he had. He hadn't achieved anything, and now he would probably die like a dog in this cave.

This happened because he saw those seven rabbits outside. Fear crumbled his mind and willpower, which instantly affected his immune system.

He fell unconscious.

Five hours had passed. He slowly woke up. He then remembered those rabbits and instantly went to see if they were still outside or not.

The outside looked clear. He heaved a sigh of relief.

But then he heard a loud howl of a wolf. Then some more, and he heard the roar of the horned rabbits too.

Probably the horned rabbits and wolves were battling somewhere nearby.

He remembered the horned rabbit he had killed before had been eating a wolf. Maybe the territory of these two species was close by, and they had to survive by battle every day.

The cave was very dangerous for him now. If they came here fighting or more joined the battle, what if someone smelled his scent or even tried to search the cave? It was after all their territory.

He should leave the cave as soon as possible, but where would he go? He didn't know the direction or have any idea if there were powerful monsters out there or not.

Everything was unclear. If he left the cave, he would have to walk around like a headless fly.

But his luck was not that good this time. Soon, the battle sounds started coming closer and closer.

Then he saw ten wolves fighting eleven rabbits.

It was a gruesome battle. Blood was shedding like a fountain, but no one was retreating.

But this was a mistake he made. He was still watching the battle, removing a part of the bush.

This small mistake might cost his life now.

A wolf looked in his direction, and their eyes met.

Noah felt death had looked at him. Without even thinking anything, he came out of the cave and started running in the opposite direction.

The wolf howled, and the battle instantly stopped.

They all looked at Noah, who was running with all his might.

All twenty-one monsters started chasing him.

Noah was a human. He shouldn't have been able to run faster than those beasts with his physical condition, but he was running for his life, so his body momentarily forgot all the pain and weakness and ran with the highest speed.

But how long could this go on?

He was bound to slow down, and he did after three minutes.

One wolf reached extremely near him and jumped, but Noah glided to the side. The wolf lost its target, but it still swung its paw at his back.

A deep claw mark appeared on his back. Blood started coming out instantly.

Noah roared in pain.

"If I can survive today, I will kill you every motherfu**rs with the worst possible way." He swore in his heart.

He didn't slow down and soon he reached near a large ravine. There wasn't any road ahead, but twenty-one monsters with bloodlust were behind him. Noah didn't want to die in their hands.

So he jumped from there.

The monsters didn't follow him. They looked from above as Noah fell into the water below.

Noah also fell into an ice-cold water source.

Blood made the water red where he fell. Noah tried his best to swim under water so that those monsters couldn't see him.

But he was sure he would lose consciousness again.

But before that, he wanted to get out of the water.

Noah had a talent. He could stop his breath for a long time. He was famous for this in his friend circle.

They would call him Amphibian Noah.

Noah swam for three minutes. His blood had already washed away and no more was coming out at this moment.

So the monsters lost his trail and again started battling themselves.

After three minutes, Noah took his mouth a little out of the water to get some breath.

After that, he again started swimming under water.

With this tactic, he had been swimming for fifteen minutes already.

His heart was telling him to sleep, but his brain knew the sleep would be his eternal sleep. So he would have to find a land.

After another ten minutes, he finally saw a land.

He would have to swim for fifteen more minutes non-stop.

Every fiber of his being was cursing at him. They wanted to sleep. They didn't want to move anymore.

But he was going on with sheer willpower.

After reaching the land, he instantly lost consciousness.

It was his good luck that no monsters were present there.

Time was ticking by, hours after hours were passing.

His breathing was getting weaker with every passing moment.

Just as he was about to breathe his last breath, the day was over.

Soon a panel appeared in his head, but Noah couldn't see that.
