Chapter 4 - Found a cave

Noah sat under the tree with a thud. He became tired again.

The moment some energy generated, he would instantly burn them out.

Now it would be a tough job to make fire. He had knew some ways to make fire as when he was still a student, he went to do a camp outside with his friends. There they made fire by using the friction of two woods and barbecued a goat.

But that was really a tiresome work, as they were drenched with sweat after making the fire.

He took a deep breath.

Then he placed two dry wooden sticks together and started rubbing them. Instead of using his bare hands, he tied a rope behind the drill stick so that it would not slip away. With each pull of the rope, the stick spun quickly against the wood below. The constant friction made smoke rise, and after a while, tiny sparks appeared. Carefully, he blew on them until a small flame was born.

This was an easy method he learned by his friend Robert in that camping night.

Then he used some dry grass to make the fire bigger and then put some more dry wood on it.

The sun would set in 3 hours. So he needed to cook the rabbit and make a shelter for him to stay safe in the night.

First, he took out the carcass of the horned rabbit from the snow.

Then he took out the spearhead and started cutting it. It was almost blunt, so Noah had to use much strength to cut the thick skin. But he was not that patient, and only cut one of its hind legs and peeled its skin with very difficulty.

After that part was done, he put it on the fire to barbecue.

While the meat was being cooked, his heart was constantly beating louder and louder.

He was afraid the smell might lure out other ferocious monsters.

But at this moment, hunger was the most ferocious monster to him. Not even that wound mattered much.

After 40 minutes of cooking, Noah could no longer be patient and started eating the meat. Without any seasoning, it did not taste good. But for survival, he had to eat it.

When finally he finished the entire leg of meat, his hunger finally satiated.

So it was time for work. He need to make a shelter.

But he was wounded, so making a whole shelter out of nowhere would be impossible for him now.

He started looking for a cave or something like that if possible.

Probably, luck already laughed at him more than needed, so it felt a little sympathy for him and Noah found a cave nearby.

But he was cautious, if there was a beast inside and it felt his presence or smelled his scent, it would be game over. He was not in a condition to fight another battle. Beside his cheap spear was already broken.

After thinking, he took a stone and hid behind a tree. Then threw the stone with his hand. Though his shoulder was hurt, he had to do it. And for accuracy, he needed to use the right hand which was injured.

The stone directly entered the cave, Noah was waiting to hear some kind of movement or roar or any sound.

But there was not any.

He threw another stone. Again there was not any sound.

He heaved a sigh of relief and went inside the cave. It was not a big one, but perfect for him to stay at the night.

He would just have to stay here for two days, he had food, he had fire, only needed water.

There was snow, if he could somehow use distillation on them, water would also be secured.

Then after 2 days, the will said, he would get some kind of talent or something.

Though he never played game or read fantasy novel or watched anime, his friends did. They would sometimes talk about some powerful anime characters.

He would always scold them for wasting their time on such useless things, but who knew those useless things would one day become his most important knowledge.

Noah first brought the fire into the cave, then the rabbit carcass. Then more woods and dry grasses.

And finally bushes to cover the entrance of the cave so that no beast could see or smell him from the outside.

Now he needed water. Distillation would need many instruments which he did not have right now.

But drinking the pure snow was also a big no no.

As his food started metabolizing, he started gathering energy faster. And his brain was also functioning better.

He then went inside the cave and started peeling the rabbit. He would use its skin to collect water.

After 1.5 hours, he finally succeeded to peel the whole skin intact.

Then he started cleaning the skin with snow, rubbing off the blood and other wastes which were covering the inside of the skin.

He would also be able to use it as warm clothes if the chill became out of control. But it would not be necessary, the cave was small and the fire could warm the cave like a heater.

So he collected a lot of snow from the ground and put them in the skin after folding it like a jar.

Then he put the skin in the cave to melt down the snow and also the heavy materials would be sedimented.

Then he would think of a way to drink the above water.

Then he also found some rock and went inside the cave again. Then put those rock into the fire to make them hot.

He was now leaning against the wall of the cave. The entrance was already covered. Now he could finally have some time to think about his situation.

Though the pain of his shoulder was killing him, he could make his way with this.

He just needed to survive for 2 days, and half of a day was already over.

36 hours more.

The settings of this realm was according to the planets the players were from, so it was easier for them to adjust first.

Then 2 hours passed by like this. The stones were heated enough, the snow was melted into water.

Ethan put those hot stones into the water and the water started boiling, it was to kill the bacterias.

After the boiling, he kept the water like that for 40 more minutes, he was also barbecuing some more meat.

The water cooled down, bacterias were gone if there had been any, and the dirts and other heavy particles sedimented again.

The water looked very clean from above. So he drank the water and finally his body got the most important fluid it needed after 36 hours.

Then he ate some more meat.

After that, Noah put some more woods into the fire and closed his eyes. He fell asleep as soon as he closed his eyes.
