CHAPTER 24
Francesca's POV.
"Thank you very much…"
No. That sounds too low for me.
"I didn't know you would hold your own part of the bargain. That's good of you…"
Now, that was way too arrogant, even for me.
"I need you to know how much I appreciate your help…"
That sounds inauthentic.
I groaned and stared at the ceiling fan, confused and frustrated. I'd tried to have a conversation with Enzo, but we hadn't talked since the wedding night. By the time he came back home yesterday, I was already asleep.
Now he was in the bathroom, and I was unprepared to tell him thank you for helping me. I needed to come up with something before he'd-
I heard the shower turn off, and he walked out of the bathroom with only a towel tied around his waist.
I opened my mouth to say something, but all the things I'd rehearsed faded from my mind immediately. My tongue had somehow turned to an immovable blub of cement, and all I could do was to gawk at his body.
