The Rise of the God of Death
Chapter 33: The Second Seal
As one of the guards stepped forward to take Daimon away, his steps faltered. He froze. The sight before him wasn't just terrifying — it was wrong. Daimon stood over Zypher's broken body, smiling like a devil... eyes locked onto the corpse like a predator.
Without warning, Daimon pierced Zypher's chest, reaching in and yanking out his internal core — the very thing that stored a cultivator's aura.
He raised it to eye level and muttered coldly under his breath...
*"Found you."*
His fingers clenched until the core cracked and shattered.
Instantly, the skies above darkened. A massive wave of aura surged down, flooding the atmosphere like a tsunami. The air turned heavy. The ground trembled. Buildings collapsed.
*Daimon began absorbing everything.*
In a flash, he broke into the *Overlord Rank* — but he didn't stop. He kept absorbing, pulling in every last trace of the wild energy, his body glowing with instability, floating mid-air as raw power surged through him.
In the process… *half the city was destroyed* — not by attacks, but by his aura alone.
Then — boom — a sudden strike!
A massive force descended from the horizon.
10,000 troops from the *Land of God* had arrived, as Daimon ordered days earlier after leaving the Leader of the East's office.
They stormed the collapsing city, wiping out the remaining forces, stealing their resources, and *claiming their citizens*.
A hostile takeover... all for Daimon's empire.
The army soon withdrew, leaving behind only *three figures* standing on the shattered ruins:
*Nil*, his right hand *Mark*, and the girl with flames in her eyes — *Lucy*.
Above them, Daimon slowly descended. His aura had calmed. His cultivation stabilized.
He had broken into a realm few ever reached.
*The Monarch Rank.*
———
Far away, in the *Supreme Chamber*, the *Second Seal* fell to the floor.
The Supreme Being — now in his human form — walked over and picked it up.
He stared at it.
He hid it beneath the temple, cloaked it in illusions, and conjured a flawless replica.
As he sealed it away, he muttered with a twisted smile:
*"I already waited 800 years… don't make it worse."*
———
Back in the ruins, Daimon finally touched ground.
All three — Nil, Lucy, and Mark — dropped to their knees before him.
Lucy was the first to rise, rushing into Daimon's arms, hugging him tightly.
He gently held her cheek and said with a smirk,
*"It seems my princess is taller... and prettier than the last time I saw her."*
Nil approached, reporting that he had reached *Lord Rank*, and both his hands — Mark and another — were now *Commanders*.
Daimon nodded.
He ordered Nil to return to the city with Lucy and the others.
He had something to finish.
The chapter closed with Daimon staring into the sky, whispering:
*"I'm strong enough to kill you now..."*
