ROMEO'S POV
I felt fooled and played, why the hell will they toy with my emotions? "Romeo, your friends are here. Come downstairs", my mom shouted. I felt even more irritated they had the guts to show up in my house. I had no plans of talking to them. But yeah, guess what? they came to me. "It actually doesn't kill you to knock before entering someone's room", I said clearly annoyed. "We're so sorry Romeo", Xander said coming closer. I stood up gesturing for him to stop. "What exactly are you sorry about huh?", I asked. "We took the test too far, we weren't supposed to do that", Clifford responded. I walked past them making my way to the living room. "We ain't leaving until you forgive us Romeo, we're sorry", Xander said and they nodded in support of what he said. I stood quite for a while, "I don't think I can forgive you now guys, I'm do pissed. You toyed with my emotions", I said to them. "We're really sorry, we'd give you space for now, see you in school tomorrow", Xander said and they left. I was going back to my room when my mom stopped me, "What happened between you guys?", she asked. "They didn't trust I'm loyal so decide to test me, I passed tho but it all doesn't make sense.", I responded and walked away. I didn't know if I was angry at them more or Pearl, I was beginning to like her. She was so good.
The following day, I felt reluctant to go to school. I didn't know what to do if I saw the guys or Pearl. I entered the class and was surprised to see a big writing on the board that read "We were foolish Romeo, we're very sorry", I must say, I felt that. It felt genuine. I gave out a little laugh and went to sit, during lunch break they approached me. "Are we forgiven now?", they asked in unison. I smiled and nodded my head. I can forgive them but I'm not sure I can forgive Pearl, not now.
The next class was a history class, our teacher Mr. Lucas assigned us to a project work and unfortunately for me I didn't end up with any of the guys as a partner. I got paired with Lucille, the proprietors daughter! Evanda got paired with Xander and Clifford got paired with Enoch the class captain. Myself and Clifford did everything we could to make Mr.Lucas pair us but he refused.
"Don't you like me?", Lucille asked me on our second meeting. I wondered why she asked that, "why do you ask?", I asked. "Well, you didn't want me as your partner, you tried so hard to change me", she responded. I just realized she hasn't ever looked at me, she's always looking somewhere else. "Look at me Lucille", I said after a brief silence. She was hesitating so I tried touching her face but she avoided my touch. "What are you doing ", she asked surprised by my actions. "You have never looked at me, why?", I asked buh she didn't respond. "I wanted to change you as my partner because I wasn't very close to you, I wanted Clifford to be my partner rather", I said and walked out to get some water.
LUCILLE'S POV
Omg, what was that? Was he trying to touch my face? I placed my hand on my heart and laughed at how fast my heart was beating. He entered holding two glasses of water.
ROMEO'S POV
Her laugh is so beautiful, "what's making you laugh partner?", I asked while sitting down. "Partner?", she asked surprised. "Yes, I'm actually glad I got paired with you. You're cool.", I responded. She laughed again, brushed her hands through her hair and that's when I realized how beautiful her hair was. It was long and so beautiful. We did some more research about the project and parted ways when it was getting dark.
The next day in school, Mr.Lucas told us the presentation would be in a week time instead of two weeks because of some issues that arose. After practice, the guys and I decided not to meet up frequently so that we get enough time to finish our project work. I called Lucille and asked her to meet me at the car park so we head to my house to work on the project. In the car, I told her I want us to meet up frequently for the project and she agreed. We got home shortly, I changed my clothes and we ate some snacks. After eating, we went to the study room and began our work. We were almost an hour into it and she seemed too quiet. "Are you okay?", I asked her. "No, not really, my head aches", she said almost in a whisper. I went to get some medicine for her but was very terrified when I came back to see her on the floor unconscious.
