Crack!
The reinforced glass finally shattered, as everyone had been praying it would, and a bizarre head poked through the hole.
The monster that stuck its head in looked a lot like a Pterosaur from a textbook, but it was much uglier.
Also, compared to the Pterosaur's size, this monster was much smaller. If it stood upright on the ground, its height would only be a little taller than the largest goose.
Li Qingyuan was already considering in his mind, if he steamed the Skeleton Monster Bird, he wondered what it would taste like.
After all, compared to those other strange creatures that looked like they'd make you sick, the Skeleton Monster Bird at least barely met the standard of an ingredient.
Of course, besides him, who had the leisure to think about these random things, the others in the supermarket were still screaming and collapsing.
When they first saw the Poison Scorpion Flies crawling on the glass, everyone managed to stay relatively calm. Although those things looked bizarre, they were really small. Even the cockroaches at home were bigger.
But now, this head that suddenly poked in... if you just looked at the size, it wasn't much smaller than a person. Plus, they had seen it through the glass before, but now it had come directly inside. For ordinary people, this was a completely different story!
It's like the difference between looking at a tiger behind the bars at a zoo and being thrown into the tiger's enclosure!
The noise generated by the group instantly stunned the Skeleton Monster Bird that had poked its head in. What were all these strange creatures all of a sudden?
It flapped its wings, preparing to squeeze through the hole, but because of the tape, its head was inside, while its body was still stuck outside.
If it had flown down from above in a dive, the Skeleton Monster Bird's explosive force could even exceed that of an adult male. But if its head was stuck and it was just flailing with its two wings, it couldn't muster more strength than a goose.
If the people standing by the window were just a little bit braver, they could have easily killed the monster without taking any damage, just by grabbing a stick and hitting it.
But it was obvious that everyone was terrified by the creature's horrifying appearance. They all retreated, creating a circle, and over a hundred people just stood there watching the monster bird struggling.
"The glass is going to break!" Norton shouted, watching the monster batter the glass, which was about to shatter completely.
"Quick, quick, we can't let it continue! Kill it!" A group of people immediately started yelling, but it was obvious that everyone was just looking at each other, hoping someone else would take action.
David sighed helplessly, picked up a baseball bat from his side. This whole room of people, including three soldiers, actually needed him, a painter, to take care of the monster. It was truly hopeless!
But before he could rush forward to be the hero, he saw a figure suddenly flash past him.
Clatter!
The Skeleton Monster Bird's comical head rolled off, spinning a few times on the ground.
Li Qingyuan tossed away the Cleaver in his hand, leaving a lonely silhouette for everyone to see.
With his eight points of agility, dealing with a bird head hanging on the wall was a piece of cake. He had seized the opportunity and with a single strike, he had made a clean kill.
He just hadn't expected the bird's bones to be so tough!
He had killed chickens before, and he didn't remember their necks being this hard!
He almost thought he'd hit wood with that last strike. His right hand was still numb from the impact.
But his blade, though lacking in power, was fast. Plus, the Cleaver was of decent quality. He thankfully avoided the embarrassing situation of the creature still being alive with his Cleaver stuck in its neck.
Everyone looked at the monster's head still rolling on the ground and then at Li Qingyuan, who was walking away. They all swallowed hard.
One strike, one kill, without a word. That was the image of a special agent in the populace's minds!
Having such an agent nearby made everyone feel much safer.
"Oh my god!"
But before they could celebrate, they saw several Poison Scorpion Flies flying in through the hole the Skeleton Monster Bird had made.
"Smash these bugs!"
Perhaps it was Li Qingyuan's cleaver that killed the Skeleton Monster Bird that gave everyone courage. Or perhaps, compared to the huge monster bird, these palm-sized bugs, though terrifying, weren't frightening enough. So, several bystanders, A, B, C, and D, immediately picked up their mops, folding stools, and other weapons, aiming them at the Poison Scorpion Flies that flew in.
And then!
"Aaaaaah——"
Several screams immediately rang out from the crowd. Although two of the Poison Scorpion Flies were directly swatted to death in the first round, the remaining ones nimbly dodged the attacks in mid-air, turning and darting towards their attackers.
"Quick, block the hole!" Oli quickly commanded people to block the hole broken by the monster bird, while others frantically worked on exterminating the bugs.
Li Qingyuan stood beside Shali, watching the surroundings vigilantly.
In the original plot, this girl was stung to death by the bugs. He didn't want her to die in the bugs' mouths like in the story.
After all, this little girl was related to his Side Quest!
As for those extras who were bitten to death by the bugs?
Sorry, even if you don't die today, you're definitely going to die tomorrow. Besides, if you can't even handle a few bugs, it seems there's not much use in living, is there?
The two remaining bugs were still killed by the angry crowd, but at the cost of three lives.
It could only be said that because of modern life, people no longer focused on developing their physical strength. To die fighting these bugs was really sad.
"Damn, it's poisonous!" Watching the three people lying on the ground, twitching and gasping for air, the others were all filled with fear. They didn't expect those seemingly insignificant monster bugs to contain deadly toxins.
Seeing the people around him die before his eyes was much more stimulating than hearing others describe it. Everyone in the supermarket was now filled with righteous indignation, and the imminent survival crisis made everyone nervous.
Bang!
But before everyone could calm down, they heard another teeth-grinding impact on the glass.
Well!
Li Qingyuan shook his head in frustration, knowing the system wouldn't let him finish his task so easily.
He remembered that in the storyline, the attacks only lasted for one wave on the first night. But now, it looked like they wouldn't stop until dawn!
Fortunately, he had instructed everyone to seal the glass with tape, otherwise, things would be much worse.
