Daniel's smile froze instantly, and the bouquet in his hands slipped to the ground.
He quickly grabbed Anna's arm, his brows drawn tight, voice sharp. "The paternity test already came out. Why do another one?"
Seeing his anxious face, Anna felt suspicion ripple through her chest.
She yanked her arm free and shot him a cold look. "It's just another paternity test. Why are you so nervous?"
Daniel forced himself to calm down, tugging his lips into a strained smile. "I'm not nervous, Anna. The child really is mine. Look, see for yourself…"
He hurriedly pulled the report from his pocket, shoving it out in desperation.
Dennis stepped forward, took it, and scanned the page. "This is from City Center Hospital. Everything seems in order."
Daniel finally exhaled, relief loosening his chest. He turned eagerly to Anna. "Anna, I wasn't lying to you. That night... it was really me."
Anna's eyes narrowed, studying him carefully. Her instincts screamed he was hiding something.
