Nevaeh couldn't help but laugh in anger. "You sold me off and used the money to buy a house for your daughter? Maria, you really are something else."
"What did you say?!"
"Give me the money, and I'll sign right now. Otherwise, forget it!" Nevaeh snapped, turning on her heel and walking away without looking back.
Seeing Nevaeh leave, Noreen panicked and cried, "Mom, you have to give it to her! What if Cyrille finds out? He might not want to marry me!"
Maria hesitated. "But that house was meant for you."
"The Bennett family is so wealthy! Once I become the second young mistress, I can have any house I want," Noreen argued.
Maria was swayed. "You're right!"
With that, she glared at Gerardo and, as if it pained her, threw the keys at him. "What are you waiting for? Let her sign!"
With the keys in hand, Nevaeh eagerly signed the termination agreement.
Gerardo looked at her, wanting to say something but holding it back.
