It was not as if I absolutely loathed Mira Palmer .
I just did not understand why she was here .
I got up from my makeup chair and searched for the director.
Director Mr. Swen never really had a good impression about me , after he had asked me multiple times to act like I had a crush on every male idol appearing in the show , cause that would earn more view than just a professional conversation.
I had delivered what he wanted very poorly , almost to non-existent and blamed my poor acting skill on that .
Director could not really kick me out since viewers loved what I was doing and I was not really stirring troubles to give him any excuse on that .
Director was already sitting with Mira Palmer at the official shooting place .
Usually the background was pastel color with a white sofa for the guest and a pink chair for me , the host .
The stage was wrapped behind a thick curtain that seperated the place from audiences.
The director was sitting on the sofa and Palmer was on my chair .
I felt cold watching her on where I was sitting for the last six months.
" There you are ," Director met my eyes ," Did you bring the apology letter ?"
" Firstly I wanted to talk with you about something," I crossed my arms .
" What can be more important than our views dropping because of your scandal?," the Director got up ," A host should act reserved ! And watch out for her poor behaviour. Just look at Miss Palmer, she could be the perfect host here ."
Maybe it was the signal of my dismissal.
Palmer got up ," Oh no no , please don't say that . I can never compare myself with Miss Dane , here ."
" Yes , you will be wayy better ," the director grabbed her hand ," I expect you will give it a thought ."
Palmer looked like she was embarrassed to meet my eyes .
Fine , they were already making a decision to kick me out . It did not really matter whatever I said , right ?
" Director, " I asked loudly ," I am just curious, did the name of the show suddenly change or something?"
" What do you mean ?," the Director raised his eyebrows.
" It is 'Tea with an idol ' and I don't see an idol to interview today ," I shook my head .
" Oh Miss Palmer is a rising star and hot topic," Director came to defend the actress ," You need to know it is important for the views ."
" Won't the audience be disappointed if there is no idol today ?," I asked .
" Well , I used to train to be an idol and was in a survival show ," Palmer explained.
I scoffed.
I saw the smile vanish from her eyes.
" It does not really take much to be an idol , does it ?," Miss Palmer said bitterly," You just have to dance and sing and act cute and not be in scandals and you still managed to ruin your idol life . So Miss Dane , you too failed as an idol. "
" Maybe you have quit in your trainee years , you don't know much about being an idol , it takes waayyy more than that ," I told her ," Think about all the kids who are fighting tooth and nails to survive in the industry just to be on the stage as an idol and here you come after quitting your training half way and still call yourself an idol ? It will be like giving a slap to their faces . So don't be like that . And I do not need advice from someone who gave up the half way and still want to be called an idol ."
The studio was silent .
Nobody here really had seen me talk so much on the stage .
" Or I can interview you as a failed idol , what do you say Miss Palmer ?," I smiled at the actress .
" HEY SHUT YOUR MOUTH!" the director's shout broke us up , the director turned his back on Miss Palmer and faced me with all of his wrath ," Do you understand the damage you are doing Miss Dane ? She is dating Liam Anderson, heir to Sunshine corporation! They are our biggest sponsor .It does not matter if you are salty about getting kicked out but we need to think about our precious sponsors !"
As I stared , I saw tears falling down her eyes . Even I who had no experience in acting, could tell how fake those tears were .
Director immediately went to comfort her .
I went back to my station . My hands were still trembling.
The people around me were whisphering loudly . Maybe they had taken vedio of that . Tomorrow I would again be on the headline as some villainess bullying an uprising star.
I knew that I went too far . Maybe all the stress was catching up to my nerve .
Maybe I was just jealous of her .
To be honest she had everything I wished for . A family to support her , a clean record and well , Liam ....she also had my husband now .
I looked at the mirror and realised how much I had changed . I had become this pathetic existent for Liam Anderson.
I got up from my station cause no way they would let me shoot here again.
But I was done . I could not really do it anymore.
My phone started ringing . It was the stupid Anderson , again .
I angrily picked up the phone to answer ," What more do you want ?"
There was a silence on the other side of the call and then he spoke ," What happened? Are you okay?"
" You think that you can ask that ?," I hurriedly walked to the washroom ," Did you two really have to do this to me ?"
I got into a toilet and locked the door .
" What do you mean ?," he sounded frustrated.
" Did you really have to send your girlfriend to my show to steal my position?"
" Why would I send - wait Mira is there ?"
I muted the phone so he could not hear me sob . I did not want him to hear me sob . He was the reason that Mira Palmer had the nerve to steal the host position from me - something I had worked on so hard for the last six months.
" It might not be just Mira , it is also your scandal ," Anderson said after sometimes.
I cut off his call .
He kept calling back .
Once .
Twice .
Thrice .
I did not want to pick it up . I did not want a lecture from him at this moment.
But another part of me craved to hear his voice . I wanted him to console me in his soothing voice . I wanted him to hear me out .
My phone rang again. This time I picked it up .
" Autumn , is that you ?," it was Rain's voice .
" Yes ," I cleared my throat .
" I just don't know what to do ," her voice was trembling," Can you come now ?"
I got up from the toilet seat ," Where are you right now ?"
" At the hospital," she broke into tears ," Winter got tested today. It turns out she has been pregnant for last two months ."
