An Yan and Hiruko naturally walked together, planning to get something to eat. Sakumo Hatake joined them, wanting to get to know his future teammates better.
And so, the three of them went to a ramen shop. They had wanted to get barbecue, but after asking around, they found out they were all poor kids living on relief funds, so ramen it was.
Sakumo was a straightforward person, though a bit reserved. It was hard to imagine why he would eventually commit suicide. Reserved people were usually thick-skinned.
He explained his background. The Hatake clan was a small ninja clan, descended from samurai. After the Sage of Six Paths spread ninjutsu and gave people chakra, the samurai gradually mastered this extraordinary power and evolved into a ninja clan.
However, since the Hatake clan was originally a samurai family, they focused on using swordsmanship combined with chakra, rarely using ninjutsu.
An Yan and Hiruko exchanged a look and played along, hyping him up.
"Wow, Brother Sakumo, you're so amazing! Since you're from a ninja clan, you have to look out for us commoners."
"Yeah, we're just two poor, helpless, but very hungry ordinary ninja. Without Brother Sakumo to protect us, we don't know how we'll survive."

"As expected of Brother Sakumo! So reasonable and convincing! From today on, you're my idol."
"I believe Brother Sakumo is a man of his word. He will surely become a great hero admired by all."
An Yan and Hiruko's praises flowed freely. Sakumo was overjoyed and finally slammed his hand on the table, declaring generously:
"Since you've called me big brother, I'll take care of you. This meal is on me."
Oops. We were just trying to be friendly, and now we've become his little brothers.
An Yan's expression stiffened for a moment, then relaxed. Sakumo was five years older than him. It wasn't a loss to call him big brother. Besides, he was a good person and very strong. An Yan didn't mind.
His thoughts drifted, and he was already imagining how he would use his "uncle" status to bully Kakashi in the future.
Hiruko, being a sensitive person, saw that An Yan didn't object to Sakumo being their big brother. He immediately held Sakumo in higher regard. Not many people could earn An Yan's approval; this person must be extraordinary.
Hiruko became even more enthusiastic towards Sakumo.
After dinner, they parted ways. An Yan went to the Senju compound for his evening training.
As everyone knows, sealing jutsu are rarely used to directly attack and seal a target. They are usually used after the target has been immobilized. And the stronger the target, the shorter the time they can be restrained.
An Yan was currently training the speed of his jutsu execution, aiming to complete the seal in the shortest possible time. It was a skill that required long-term practice. Fortunately, with his system, his progress was visible every day.
It was late when Tsunade returned, looking gloomy.
Mito Uzumaki asked her what was wrong, and Tsunade replied angrily:
"Today, An Yan and I became Genin and were assigned to Teacher Sarutobi's team. Everything was going fine; we passed the teacher's test. Then, one of the guys on our team, after being taught the Summoning Jutsu, used it without signing a contract with a summoning beast. He got summoned to who-knows-where. It's so frustrating."

An Yan was lost in thought. Tsunade saw him and nudged him.
"An Yan, don't you dare try that out of curiosity. The summoning location is random. You could end up in a volcano and fall in and be gone forever!"
An Yan was speechless and tapped her on the forehead. "Do I look that stupid?"
Tsunade scratched her head and retorted, "I'm just worried about you. Do you understand?"
An Yan returned a gentle smile. "Okay, Princess Tsunade's concern has been received."
Mito sat on the tatami mat, smiling as she watched them interact.
Tsunade asked curiously, "What were you thinking about? You looked so lost in thought."
An Yan smiled. "I was just wondering why the Third Hokage started teaching you jutsu on the first day, while my team leader didn't even have a meal with us after the test."
Tsunade was puzzled. "An Yan, who is your team leader?"
An Yan sighed. "Danzo Shimura."
Tsunade was confused. "Great-uncle Tobirama's student? It seems the village thinks highly of you. Why do you look so unhappy?"
An Yan said helplessly, "I was just thinking that Teacher Danzo seems like a difficult person to get along with. It probably won't be easy to learn jutsu from him in the future."
Tsunade pouted. "If you want to learn jutsu, just say so. Don't beat around the bush. What jutsu do you want to learn? I'll go ask great-uncle Tobirama for it."
Mito Uzumaki spoke up.
"If you want to learn higher-level jutsu, it's best to first understand your own chakra nature."
An Yan's eyes lit up, sparkling.
Seeing his eager look, Mito didn't tease him. She took out a piece of chakra paper from her clothes and handed it to him.
An Yan turned to Tsunade. "Aren't you going to try?"
Mito smiled. "Little Tsunade has already been tested. She has five natures: water, fire, earth, lightning, and yang. And it's not just her. The other two children Hiruzen took on also have multiple chakra natures. Jiraiya has six, and Orochimaru has seven."
An Yan pouted. He already knew all that. Grandma Mito was a sly one; she had been putting pressure on him since the day they met.
An Yan took the chakra paper and infused it with his chakra.
The paper first split in two, then became damp, and finally crumbled into dust.
"That's wind, water, and earth. Very good," Tsunade said, praising him considerately.
An Yan wasn't upset about having fewer chakra natures. In fact, he was pleasantly surprised. He had expected to have only one or two. What more could a commoner ninja ask for?
To have three natures was a wonderful surprise.
