An Yan added a new task to his training regimen: chakra nature transformation.
As is well known, chakra has two types of transformation: shape transformation and nature transformation.
Shape transformation is easy to understand: changing the shape, structure, and physical form of chakra.
Nature transformation is also easy to understand: changing the inherent properties of chakra to mimic its seven natures.
Mastering a certain nature transformation is equivalent to mastering that type of ninjutsu.
Fusing two nature transformations creates a Kekkei Genkai, making one a Kekkei Genkai user. The change in genes caused by chakra will affect the next generation.
So, the reason commoner ninja are commoner ninja is that their ancestors didn't work hard enough to synthesize a Kekkei Genkai.
Mastering the fusion of three nature transformations is called a Kekkei Tota, like the Third Tsuchikage's Dust Release.
An Yan was curious if he could fuse even more chakra natures with the help of his system.
As for the system's original wish function, An Yan wasn't counting on it too much. The battles in the ninja world were often between god-like beings. Unless the system came up with a "Black Myth: Wukong" wish pool or something similar, the usual pools wouldn't be enough.
In the previous Tomb Raider pool, An Yan had made over seventy draws in a year, practically stripping Lara Croft bare. But no matter how legendary an adventurer, weapons expert, and archaeologist she was, she wasn't a superhero. She had no superpowers, so her help was limited. The current Sifu pool was the same.

An Yan thought about it for a moment and then abandoned the idea. It was better to get stronger first, reach a certain level, and then consider such things.
Creating modern weapons could easily end the era of ninja and might even trigger a larger war.
It was better to focus on training for now.
It is well known that Wood Style is composed of water and earth chakra nature transformations.
An Yan possessed water, earth, and wind chakra natures. In theory, he could try to practice Wood Style.
An Yan wasn't demanding that his Wood Style be as powerful as Hashirama Senju's. His standards were low; Yamato's level would be enough. Hashirama was powerful because of his massive chakra reserves and Asura's chakra. Even without Wood Style, he would have been formidable with other jutsu.
An Yan was halfway through his breakfast when Hiruko rushed in, grabbed his arm, and tried to pull him out.
"Wait, Hiruko, what's going on?" An Yan held him back, confused.
Hiruko's eyes were shining with excitement.
"An Yan, did you forget? Teacher Danzo said we'd start official missions today. I thought we should go to the mission hall early and pick a good one."
An Yan continued eating his breakfast unhurriedly. "What's the rush? You can't accept a mission even if you go. In the mission hall, besides the missions assigned directly by the village, only the team leader can accept missions."
Hearing this, Hiruko's excitement waned a bit. Realizing there was no point in going early, he sat down and waited quietly for An Yan to finish.
After eating, An Yan changed his clothes, checked his ninja tool pouch, and then left.
They didn't go straight to the mission hall but took a detour to find Sakumo Hatake first. They had gotten his address yesterday.
Sakumo, like An Yan, was an orphan and lived alone, so it was easy to get in and out of his house.
It was only six in the morning, and Sakumo wasn't up yet. Most people weren't as diligent as An Yan and Hiruko and were still sleeping.
So, An Yan began to practice his water nature transformation. He sat on a chair by the bed, holding a towel, and tried to wet it with his chakra.
Hiruko took out his notebook and began to review what he had learned.
When Sakumo opened his eyes, he was stunned.
He had woken up to find two people in his room, both working hard, and they had been considerate enough not to wake him.
Why do I feel so guilty, like I'm the only one slacking off?
Seeing Sakumo wake up, Hiruko quickly greeted him.
"Brother Sakumo, we're going to the mission hall. Do you want to come with us?"
"Yes, but I need to wash up and eat first. Also, next time, don't just sneak into my house."
"Next time for sure."
Sakumo yawned, got up, and quickly went through his morning routine.
They all went out and arrived at the mission hall entrance.
Danzo hadn't specified a meeting time, so they just waited there.
An Yan continued to work on his nature transformation, while Hiruko was already engrossed in a medical book.
Sakumo looked around and felt that if he didn't do something, he would be the odd one out.
So, he set up a wooden post nearby and began to practice his basic swordsmanship.
People came and went from the mission hall, and soon someone notified Danzo that his three students were waiting for him.
Danzo appeared shortly after, his face grim.
"It seems you're eager to complete your first official mission. Then, today, I will let you see some blood."
Danzo took out a mission scroll. It was a C-rank mission: eliminate a group of mountain bandits.
An Yan raised an eyebrow. Straight to drawing blood? No cat-catching missions first? Tsk, is this the intensity of the "Darkness of the Shinobi"?
Konoha really was a terrorist organization. Even in peacetime, they still made children draw blood first. A six-year-old killing people—it would be a miracle if they didn't become psychologically twisted. No wonder the ninja world was full of fanatics and psychopaths.
Danzo led the three of them out immediately. Ninja are fast, and they reached the mission location in less than half a day.
"This is the place. Kill them all," Danzo said, pointing at the bandit fortress and waving his hand.
The three of them vanished like shadows.
It was an ordinary mountain fortress, with about thirty to forty bandits.
Sakumo drew his sword and charged in. An Yan took out his bow and arrow, with Hiruko guarding him.
Sakumo killed several people in the front, while An Yan provided cover fire from the back. Hiruko dealt with any that slipped through.
None of the three showed any mercy. Danzo watched and nodded repeatedly in approval.
