Chapter 20 - TAINTED

NARA

That vile creature.

My skin crawled with disgust even after his departure and I couldn't shake off the intense urge to find a stream I could dive into and wash every trace of him off me.

I can't believe the words that came out of his mouth. Why does one need to be so vile? Every time I think he's done his worst, he opens his mouth and sewer waste spills out of him.

"I'm sorry," Jodi mumbled behind me, and I finally looked away from the door Kaedyr had departed through.

Turning to her, I find Jodi trembling and without even asking, I knew it was due to the presence of the creature that just left. Kaedyr as an Alpha was a force to reckon with even when he wasn't in his Lycan form. And it didn't help matters that a tiny sliver of his Lycan had slipped forward earlier. That must've been frightening for Jodi, accompanied by the domineering pheromones Kaedyr had been releasing.

"Why are you apologising when you've done nothing wrong?"
