The day had felt overwhelming. But the more I worked, the calmer I felt. It was almost therapeutic to serve people drinks and their food…if you ignored them yelling at you and each other.
Finally, it came time for us to close for the day, but the reporters and other investors sitting in our café refused to move.
"Emma, shall I ask the people to leave now?"
I asked Emma as I watched her make an annoyed face as well. She looked tired after a hard day of work and I wanted to help her out.
"You would? That would be really helpful. Ah, but take Ben with you. I've dealt with such people before. They can be real jerks sometimes. I don't want anything to happen to you."
Emma told me and I nodded back at her.
I knew what she was worried about—me being an omega.
Usually, alpha customers got easily annoyed by omega staff since they believed alphas were the superior ones. But I was not going to sit back and watch them abuse me if it came down to it.
