Reality is not a game, and epic-tier equipment is not abundant. Therefore, after Gale manufactured a batch of epic equipment, it immediately became highly sought after.
Those who needed it used it, and those who didn't collected it. Thousands of Sanction Swords have been sold, but less than a third of them have actually been used on the battlefield.
It was precisely the proliferation of the Sanction Sword that made batch epic-tier equipment less popular. Only three hundred sheets of Wind Power were sold, and these were either orders from the army or purchased by the Moon Guard and garrison officers from other cities.
Although Gale had some regrets, he was still very satisfied that the equipment could be used where it was truly needed.
Therefore, he deeply understood how shocking a large number of epic-tier spellbooks would be to the three newly promoted mages.
He clapped his hands, startling the three mages awake.
"Although it's hard for you to accept now, you will get used to it later. However, you still have a lot to learn, so today's assessment is canceled. This month, you will first follow Sethonis to create spellbooks, and if you finish, study the knowledge within them."
The three mages breathed a sigh of relief, then all felt a little ashamed. How could they be so stunned by a single sentence from Senior Gale? It was truly a disgrace to be an excellent graduate of Nathalas.
However, they were also shocked by Gale's strength. Gale had only graduated a year before them, yet his achievements were already beyond their reach.
He not only owned his Forging Factory but also his Mage Tower. Although the Mage Tower was newly established, its library of spellbooks surpassed that of the long-standing Nathalas Academy.
Is this the growth rate of a Royal Mage?
Raising their heads, their gazes towards Gale were filled with admiration.
Gale didn't pay attention to the trio's expressions, pulling Sethonis aside. "My research project is about to yield results, so the management of the Mage Tower will still fall to you."
Sethonis was a little embarrassed. "Actually, I haven't really managed the Mage Tower much this month; Antalia has been handling everything."
Gale glanced at Antalia, not expecting this female mage to have such ability. However, he was eager to return to the laboratory. "No matter who you have managing it, as long as it's executed well, that's fine."
With that, Gale hurried away.
He was truly in a rush; walking quickly could no longer satisfy his eagerness. Stepping out of the library door, Gale blinked all the way to the laboratory entrance.
On the experimental bench, a giant microscope was being set up. Inside the microscope's slide, there was a minute amount of Arcane Energy.
For the past month, Gale had been entirely in the laboratory researching what constituted Arcane.
Although he had previously speculated it was Arcane particles, Gale had no idea what Arcane particles looked like. He, like other mages, could only sense the existence of Arcane particles.
After more than half a month of work, he finally found a way to observe Arcane particles.
He rebuilt a giant microscope and enchanted its lenses, allowing the microscope to observe microscopic existences. He then used the microscope to observe his skin cells and found some purple light on the cells. When magnified, these purple luminous bodies turned out to be tiny particles.
Gale was overjoyed and tried to use Arcane to pull these purple particles, succeeding. This indicated that these purple particles were Arcane particles.
He repeated the experiment many times, and each time the conclusion was the same as the first. Thus, Gale confirmed that he had indeed found Arcane particles.
But finding Arcane particles was only the first step; finding the function of Arcane particles was Gale's true goal.
Gale modified the giant microscope, clearing a space near the slide. Then, Gale placed Arcane Energy within the space and continuously guided the Arcane Energy to change, thereby observing the changes in the Arcane particles.
Initially, he always failed; Gale's control over Arcane Energy was not yet precise enough.
Later, after Gale became familiar with this control method, he quickly succeeded once.
With one successful case, Gale was greatly encouraged. As Gale's control improved, the number of times he successfully observed increased.
He discovered that Arcane particles have the function of change and restoration. Even if Gale used Arcane Energy to cast an Arcane spell, the Arcane particles would change. However, unlike transforming into elemental spells, elemental spells are a qualitative change of Arcane particles; they quickly transform into elements like earth, water, wind, and fire, and only gradually return to their original state after the spell ends.
When casting Arcane spells, Arcane particles will expand or shrink, become transparent or solid, depending on the Arcane spell cast. Within the Arcane spell structure, an invisible force field will be generated, constraining the Arcane particles until the spell is completed.
After the spell ends, the changed Arcane particles will slowly restore. The restoration speed of Arcane spell particles is faster; particles that expanded or shrunk will restore immediately after the spell ends, while transparent or solidified particles will restore within three to five minutes.
However, particles transformed into elemental spells restore much slower. And the way they restore is also different; they restore from the outside in. The larger the scale of the spell cast, the harder it is to restore.
After thinking, Gale felt it might also be related to a force field, and the force field that transforms into elemental spells is somewhat similar to the force field that constrains Arcane particles.
Now, Gale was looking for this force field.
He called the force field the ether force field, which translates to a hypothetical energy force field.
To determine if the ether force field exists, Gale still needed a lot of experiments.
Gale also considered whether it was a magnetic field. He tried to create magnetic poles with Arcane particles, but all his attempts failed.
Sometimes Gale felt he was overthinking things, after all, magic is a very subjective matter, and not all phenomena can be explained by science.
For the next month and a half, Gale conducted many experiments, yet still made no progress. Although he discovered a possible ether force field, he couldn't prove it, which was very unscientific.
After all, science can be falsified, and Gale couldn't even falsify it.
Helpless, Gale could only give up on finding the ether force field.
However, his research over this past month was not without gains. His control over Arcane had greatly improved. If not for the insufficient amount of Arcane Energy he could utilize, he could now completely advance to Archmage.
In terms of micro-control, Gale was confident he was stronger than any Archmage.
Next, Gale decided to improve his hard power. Previously, he had always been afraid of using the Well of Eternity to increase his strength, but now he had more confidence.
In addition, when testing Arcane particle combinations, he found a stable structure, thereby creating an unconscious planktonic creature, somewhat like a tadpole and somewhat like a swimming dragon.
Gale found a suitable name for it in the game—ether spirit.
