Gale made another casing for the eternal holy grail to prevent anyone from discovering that he had stolen water from the Well of Eternity.
Following the image of a royal holy grail, Gale used bronze to create a casing, inlaid it with a diamond-shaped arcane crystal, and enchanted the casing with the runic array of Arcane Baptism.
Holding the eternal holy grail, Gale immediately felt refreshed and his thoughts sharpened.
Arcane magic was truly amazing; it could even change a creature's mind.
As a transmigrator, Gale actually found the existence of magic difficult to comprehend. After entering Nasalas, he didn't show any extraordinary abilities. But ever since he learned Arcane Wisdom, he immediately displayed superhuman talent.
Arcane Wisdom changed Gale's brain, allowing him to connect magic and science. Only by analyzing the Arcane in a different way could Gale progress to where he was now.
And the effect of Arcane Baptism was far stronger than Arcane Wisdom.
He truly couldn't understand how Azshara could become neurotic when she bathed in Arcane Baptism every day.
Under the blessing of Arcane Baptism, Gale began to use the Arcane Energy of the Well of Eternity to search the entire Sin'dorei, but did not find any abnormal magical energy. This made Gale breathe a sigh of relief, indicating that Azshara had not yet come into contact with demons.
He once again entrusted the Mage Tower to Sethonis, then took Navoli and two Mage Tower guards to rendezvous with the Mages.
Navoli and the other two were both excited and apprehensive about going to the battlefield. If Gale hadn't recruited them, they would have planned to join the army in a few years. Unable to become Mages, the army was the fastest path to advancement.
The commander of this Mage unit was Turann High Mage. Gale had never met him, so he probably wasn't a Royal Mage involved in politics.
After assembling about a hundred Mages, Turann High Mage ordered them to depart. Then he found Gale, "The logistics unit will still need a few days to set off. Why don't you come with us?"
Gale thought for a moment and readily agreed.
Each Mage would bring several guards to protect their safety, and with the addition of the Moon Guard, the entire team numbered over a thousand. Many Moon Guard and guards used the epic weapons Gale sold, with Sanction Sword being the most common, Golden Holy Sword second, and Wind Power the least.
Navoli and the warrior Draksa Bearskin were also equipped with Sanction Sword, while Salador Sunstrider was equipped with Wind Power.
Salador and Dath'Remar came from the same family, but their bloodline relationship was already very distant. Unlike Dath'Remar's main branch which remained in Sin'dorei, Salador's branch lived in Moonclaw Valley, northwest of Suramar, and had been separated from the main branch for thousands of years.
If not for the long lifespan of the Kaldorei, the two Sunstrider branches would probably have become two separate families.
When Salador first arrived in Sin'dorei, he also sought help from Dath'Remar and other kin. However, the Sunstriders of Sin'dorei were only minor nobles, not even having an Archmage with a Mage Tower. The entire family only had a few, like Dath'Remar, who had joined the Moon Guard, so they could not offer Salador much help.
Therefore, Salador decided to make his own way, not wanting to trouble his kin.
Arriving in Suramar City again, Gale finally had time to explore.
Turann High Mage met with Grand Magister Elisande, then led the Mage unit to Heda'shal. Gale originally wanted to go with them, but Turann High Mage refused, telling him to wait for the logistics unit in Suramar City and report to the front line with them.
This made Gale wary. He sent Navoli back along the road to look for the logistics unit.
A few days later, Navoli returned, stating that he had not seen any sign of the logistics unit.
This puzzled Gale; logically, the logistics unit should have already departed.
Just as he was about to go search for them himself, he suddenly received a notification from the Elune Sisterhood, saying that they had found the attacked logistics unit, and some survivors were receiving treatment at the Elune Temple.
Gale paused, then frowned deeply.
The journey from Sin'dorei to Suramar City had been peaceful; how could the logistics unit have been attacked?
Could Savis have made a move?
Gale followed the priestess to the Elune Temple and met with High Priestess Dyganna. Dyganna, the leader of the Elune Sisterhood, was bathed in Elune's light, holy and approachable.
"May Elune bless you, my brother!"
Gale bowed to Dyganna and asked, "Respected High Priestess, how are the wounded from the logistics unit now?"
Dyganna's face showed sorrow. "We only found a small number of injured at the site of the logistics unit's ambush; everyone else had died. Their wounds were very peculiar, with penetrating wounds made by spears, slashes made by axes, and scratches made by raptors."
Spears and axes were common troll weapons, but without seeing the wounds, Gale wouldn't jump to conclusions easily.
"Come with me! You should see the injured yourself."
Gale told Navoli and the other two to wait, and he followed Dyganna to the ward. After seeing the injured, Gale stated his identity, and the injured excitedly said, "Quartermaster, we were attacked by trolls, and they stole our military funds."
Gale raised an eyebrow slightly, "Do trolls also use gold coins?"
The injured paused, not expecting Gale to ask such a foolish question.
"Of course, although trolls are barbaric, they still use currency. They even trade with other races."
Gale showed an apologetic expression, "I'm not questioning you, just a little curious."
"Your curiosity is really ill-timed."
Shrugging, Gale asked the injured to recount the attack. The more he listened, the stranger it felt. "You had nearly a hundred people, and there were only dozens of trolls. How could they kill most of you, and you couldn't even send out a single person for help? How did you survive then?"
The injured looked at each other, then lowered their heads without speaking, seemingly finding it difficult to articulate.
But Gale did not give up pressing. "How many losses did the trolls suffer? Why didn't the Sisterhood's priestesses see any troll bodies when they arrived?"
One injured person subconsciously said, "The trolls took away the bodies of their companions; they have a tradition of cannibalism."
"Then why didn't they take away the bodies of the Kaldorei? Kaldorei bodies should be tastier than thick-skinned trolls, right?"
Dyganna, standing by, couldn't help but remind him, "Gale Mage, please mind your words. Do not desecrate our deceased kin."
Gale apologized to her, then continued to ask, "Since you resisted, why didn't you retreat while fighting, instead of all dying in one spot?"
The injured remained silent, but Gale didn't let them off.
He pointed at their wounds, "Your wounds are not fatal, and the trolls didn't kill you. This means--"
"You are allied with the trolls!"
The injured immediately shouted, "No, you are slandering us!"
