Chapter 58 - Chapter 58: Unstoppable

Carlos continuously deployed troops, sending soldiers to assault the Troll Witch Doctor from different routes.

The Trolls clearly knew this as well; they formed a human wall, shattering the Ice Armor and knocking back any soldier who dared to advance.

The human wall stretched across the stockade, leaving no gaps for the soldiers.

Seeing this situation, Carlos, far from being anxious, actually smiled.

The Trolls' tactics were indeed good, but they had one flaw: their numbers were too few, only enough to form a human wall.

"Climb the stockade walls, bypass them from both sides, and directly attack the Troll Witch Doctor."

The soldiers immediately ran to the side walls of the stockade, then bypassed the human wall from there, and once again launched an attack on the Troll Witch Doctor.

Only the Troll Chieftain stood in front of the Troll Witch Doctor; he was also boosted by Bloodlust and protected by the Voodoo Shield.

He wielded a large runic spear, and with a single sweep, he sent the two leading soldiers flying.

Ice shards splattered, and the soldiers crashed directly into the stockade wall, knocked unconscious by the impact.

The other soldiers immediately raised their Ice Imprint Grips and jointly cast Frost Nova on the Troll Witch Doctor.

When the Troll Witch Doctor cast Voodoo, he himself was not protected by Voodoo.

Seven or eight Frost Novas directly froze him in a block of ice, and without the incantation's impetus, the Voodoo Shield immediately collapsed.

The Chieftain was stunned, and a bad premonition arose in his heart.

He stepped forward to block in front of the Troll Witch Doctor, preventing the soldiers from attacking the Troll Witch Doctor again.

However, in the next second, seven or eight Bursting Ice Shards pierced through his body, striking the frozen Troll Witch Doctor.

The ice block encasing the Witch Doctor was shattered, and the Witch Doctor, frozen inside, was directly blasted into a mass of flesh.

"Boom!"

The Troll Chieftain's body crashed to the ground, countless ice shards having blasted him into a sieve, and the ubiquitous blood holes caused his blood to drain instantly.

The soldiers, fearing that the Chieftain's regeneration ability was stronger than that of ordinary Trolls, went up and delivered another blow, severing his head.

"Kill!"

Carlos roared, unleashing a combination of ice and explosive attacks towards the Trolls in front.

The soldiers followed suit, and instantly, Frost Spells enveloped all the Trolls.

The Trolls fell to the ground; even if not directly killed, they were severely wounded.

The soldiers went up one by one to finish them off, sending them to meet Bwonsamdi.

Carlos ordered the Troll banner on the stockade to be taken down and replaced with the Kaldorei Empire's banner.

Upon seeing this, the army at the mountain pass immediately advanced towards the stockade.

The first to enter the stockade was the Gamma Group, along with over ten accompanying Mages.

Looking at the bloody battlefield within the stockade, the Gamma Group's soldiers and Mages were astonished, their mouths agape.

They had fought these Trolls not once or twice; the Gamma Group and the Second Legion had launched hundreds of attacks, each time with Mage support.

Yet, they had all been repelled by the Trolls' tactics of Bloodlust combined with the Voodoo Shield, suffering hundreds of casualties.

The Kaldorei had a small population, and even fewer soldiers, so hundreds of casualties were already a heavy loss.

Otherwise, it would not have been reported to Yue Nu.

Now, this tough nut to crack had been easily taken down by the Alpha Squad, and in less than half an hour; how could they not be surprised?

"How did you manage to do this?"

Carlos took no credit, "If each of you were equipped with three epic-grade items, you could do it too."

The Gamma Group Leader and the Mages exchanged glances; they knew about the two epic items, but they had not expected the effect of two epic items to be so significant.

Carlos did not elaborate, "The path for forward advance has now been cleared; the subsequent battles are up to you.

If you encounter any tough nuts to crack, leave them to us; the Legion Commander created our Alpha Squad precisely for cracking nuts."

The Gamma Group Leader's mouth twitched; Carlos's words were a bit too provocative.

However, he also knew that Carlos was speaking the truth, and he could only accept reality.

"Don't worry, there are Troll strongholds ahead; I will notify you."

With a sigh of suppressed frustration, the Gamma Group Leader waved his hand and led his soldiers through the stockade, advancing towards the forest opposite the mountain pass.

Soon, they discovered a Troll stronghold at the base of the mountain, used for transporting supplies to the mountain pass stockade and for observing the stockade's defenses.

However, the Trolls never imagined that the stockade would be breached so quickly.

The scouts dispatched from the stronghold had not even reached the stockade when they ran headlong into the Gamma Group.

The scouts turned to flee but were shot down by several Rangers.

Through interrogation, the stronghold's location was extracted from the scouts.

The Gamma Group stealthily approached the stronghold and launched a surprise attack.

The Trolls in the stronghold never expected an attack and were completely wiped out.

The Gamma Group rested temporarily at the stronghold, then dispatched scouts for reconnaissance, supported by Mages, while waiting for the Second Legion and logistical supplies to arrive.

A few days later, the Gamma Group launched assaults on the discovered Troll strongholds, sweeping through them like a broken bamboo, occupying half the forest area in half a month.

Facing such an easy offensive, the Gamma Group felt perplexed; where had the Troll army gone?

Logically, the Amani Trolls should have at least several hundred thousand troops; from the start of the campaign until now, only three to five tens of thousands had appeared.

Where had the rest of the army gone?

The Gamma Group Leader couldn't figure it out himself and immediately sent a letter to Yue Nu, leaving the problem for Yue Nu to ponder.

Without specific intelligence on the Trolls, Yue Nu couldn't figure it out either!

He gathered everyone for discussion, and Tulan offered a very pertinent suggestion, "The command post should be moved forward.

We can also establish a fortress at the Troll stockade.

This way, no matter what schemes the Trolls have, we can be ready to attack or defend."

After a slight pause, he added, "We still need to find a way to scout the Troll situation."

Yue Nu was speechless; if I could scout the Troll situation, why would I be consulting with you all?

He looked at Gale; among those present who could be called wise, besides Tulan, there was only Gale.

Gale thought for a moment: "Turann High Mage is very right; the command post should be moved forward.

Currently, the command post is too far from the front line, and issuing orders will not keep up with the battlefield situation."

Yue Nu nodded, "The command post indeed needs to move forward.

However, the logistics troops also need to move forward; at Alpha Fortress, the logistics troops cannot effectively supply the frontline army."

He was still afraid that Gale would reclaim the 20% shares of the fortress, even if he left a trusted subordinate to serve as the fortress commander.

With Gale's ability, no one besides himself could contend with Gale's wisdom.

Gale did not object, "The logistics troops will move forward first.

I hope the Mage Corps can provide me with some Mages so I can build the fortress."

"Certainly!" Yue Nu readily agreed; as long as Gale agreed to leave Alpha Fortress, any conditions he proposed could be accepted.
