Chapter 7 - Press Conference

Watching Mr. Andy solve the problem of crystal energy dissipation with a series of dazzling operations, Tina finally relaxed.

Now she needed to address the issues caused by the explosions; the series of blasts just now had been quite loud.

By now, the employees were probably already discussing the cause of the explosions.

Sure enough, the moment Tina opened her office door, she saw department heads anxiously discussing the reason for the explosions.

"Tina, what exactly happened?"

A capable-looking female executive, the Head of Public Relations for Orokin Technology, asked as Tina entered.

The explosions earlier had caused panic throughout the building, and she had ordered the security department to implement a full lockdown.

"Why were there continuous explosions in the top-floor laboratory?

Could it be a Terrorist attack, attempting to kidnap the CEO?"

With the 9/11 incident only a few years past, everyone felt a deep sense of unease and fear, dreading that Orokin Technology might suffer a similar Terrorist attack.

Now, a large number of Police and media reporters had gathered downstairs, eager to know the truth of the matter.

Tina stepped forward and tidied up her Head of Public Relations, whose clothes were a bit disheveled from being overly anxious about the explosions.

She said with a smile, "Nothing happened! We'll prepare for a press conference shortly; Mr. Andy will explain everything."

Seeing Tina's calm demeanor, everyone finally felt relieved and returned to their respective workstations to lead their teams.

...

"Miss Tina, was the explosion at Orokin Technology earlier a Terrorist attack?

How much damage did the Terrorist attack by the Terrorists cause to Orokin Technology?

Could you tell us about the current condition of your boss, Mr. Andy?"

Looking at Tina, who was seated in front, a reporter from the Los Angeles Daily fired a barrage of sharp questions.

It was as if the explosion at Orokin Technology truly had been a Terrorist attack.

She stared at Tina, hoping to get a response.

At this moment, Mr. Andy, having changed into clean clothes, walked in with a smile, and upon hearing the reporter's words, he responded,

"Oh, oh! Everyone seems very concerned about me, especially this... emmm..."

Mr. Andy lowered his head and carefully looked at the reporter's work badge.

"Miss Mollyra, why are you so interested in the explosion?

Where did you get the information that Orokin Technology was attacked by Terrorists?"

Mr. Andy did not hesitate to retort against this impolite reporter who was spouting nonsense before knowing the truth.

"How are you unharmed? There was a violent explosion at Orokin, and you were closest to the blast. How could you possibly be fine?"

Reporter Mollyra looked at Mr. Andy, who appeared at the press conference, with extreme surprise, as if his presence was an impossible feat.

The news she had received was that a violent explosion had occurred in the top-floor laboratory of Orokin.

Mr. Andy had been in the top-floor laboratory at the time, and then a series of explosions occurred again when Tina entered the laboratory.

She could understand that Orokin Technology's laboratory had protective measures, but even the best protective measures couldn't leave Mr. Andy completely unharmed.

The reason she dared to ask Tina such sharp questions was because she was highly confident that Mr. Andy had been severely injured.

But looking at Mr. Andy's current state, there was no sign of him being harmed.

Mollyra still wanted to speak, but was stopped by a fellow reporter.

"Sorry! She's just started her internship and isn't very familiar with the industry."

Saying that, he pulled Mollyra towards the back row.

Mollyra struggled and said, "Let go of me, Ethan! The news I received was that a fierce explosion occurred at Orokin, and its boss was at the source of the explosion.

You don't actually believe he was doing an experiment, do you?

This is a biotechnology company, not a weapons company. What kind of biological experiment could cause such a large explosion?"

Mollyra's voice was heard by everyone present.

Yes!

Orokin Technology is a biotechnology company, and biological experiments and research are absolutely incapable of causing such powerful destructive force.

Ethan tightly grabbed Mollyra's arms and whispered,

"Listen, Mollyra! I don't know where you got your information, but you need to remember you're a reporter.

Unless you have irrefutable evidence, if you encounter a situation like this again, you should be more tactful.

I know you want to cover impactful news.

If you continue like this, you might not have a place in the entire journalism industry."

At this moment, Mr. Andy's voice rang out, and Ethan released Mollyra's arms, giving Mr. Andy an awkward smile.

"Heh heh, as everyone just heard Miss Mollyra say, Orokin is indeed a biotechnology company.

But that doesn't mean Orokin lacks research capabilities in other industries.

And the explosion that occurred in the top-floor laboratory of Orokin was indeed caused by an experiment."

Hearing Mr. Andy's words, Mollyra let out a mocking laugh.

She simply didn't believe the explosion was caused by an experiment.

"Of course!

This experiment wasn't because I was researching medical technology, but rather I was experimenting with a special material developed based on human biomechanics and existing protective materials."

Saying that, Mr. Andy waved his hand to open a virtual projection, and an image of the woven material used to create the Orokin combat suit was projected.

"This special woven material I named Orokin Super Nano Fiber. It can evenly distribute received force, thereby neutralizing the force and preventing the wearer from being harmed.

The reason for the explosion was that I wanted to determine the maximum load capacity of this woven material.

Therefore, I used several grenades for the explosion experiment. I deeply apologize for not reporting it beforehand.

After all, a scientist's inspiration is fleeting."

Saying that, Mr. Andy bowed to Chief George, the head of all the New York Police who had rushed to the scene.

"To express my apology for disrupting Chief George's normal work, I have decided to donate one thousand sets of bulletproof equipment made with this new woven material to the New York Police Department.

I'm sure Chief George won't hold me responsible, right?"

Mr. Andy's slightly mischievous words made everyone burst into laughter.

Chief George even tilted his head and picked his ear, indicating that he didn't know what had happened.

Mr. Andy not only avoided exposing the Amplification Crystal but also used the press conference to promote the Orokin Super Nano Fiber.

The Orokin Technology explosion was thus lightly glossed over by Mr. Andy.

After the press conference ended,

Ethan pulled Mollyra away from Orokin Technology and said reassuringly,

"Mollyra, the facts are very clear. Don't dwell on it anymore."

Mollyra remained unconvinced, firmly believing that Orokin must have some hidden secret.

"It's absolutely not as he said. He's definitely hiding something, and I will find out."

Ethan felt helpless upon hearing this; such a troublesome intern was giving him a headache.

Crucially, Mollyra was also the editor-in-chief's daughter, and he absolutely could not afford to offend her.

With no other choice, Ethan could only let Mollyra act freely. He needed to send today's news back to the editorial department as soon as possible.

Orokin Super Nano Fiber would surely cause a strong public reaction, and this might be a precursor to Orokin Technology entering the military industry.

...

Orokin Technology

Mr. Andy sat in his office, staring blankly out the window at the scenery.

The Orokin Empire...

Now that the Amplification Crystal had appeared, the warframe would descend one day.

Thinking this, Mr. Andy showed a slight smile.
