It is known that the humanity of the future survives and evolves thanks to the contributions of the humans of the past—a fact that is completely true.
And in this case, everyone knows how to face evil thanks to a special order of holy knights who confronted darkness head-on and won.
That's why The Healing Church, with its wise demeanor, knew certain things. For example: what happens if a demon is left in the human world for a prolonged period of time?
The answer is simple: the demon gains power—an evil, overwhelming power that few humans have ever been able to overcome throughout history.
When a demon remains inside a human body for too long, it spreads its plague, causing illness and making it easier to control other human bodies.
That's exactly what was happening in this place. So when Jonathan entered the building, he knew exactly what he was up against. "We don't have much time…"
Frederick, who looked at Jonathan standing among several people who appeared to be guarding him, asked, "Are you in charge of these people?"
"That's correct. You must be one of the hosts of this event. For your own safety and to preserve your peace of mind, I suggest you move to the first floor, where you'll be safe," Jonathan said as he approached the surveillance monitors.
Frederick looked at Jonathan—he was very young—but after realizing he was the one in charge, he asked, "Who exactly are you people, and why were you sent?"
"We're a plague elimination unit. Have you seen horror movies, sir?" Jonathan didn't take his eyes off the monitors and frowned when he saw a group of guards heading upstairs, even though he had already ordered everyone to evacuate.
Frederick shook his head and asked, "Are you saying you're here to eliminate the supposed demon causing all this?"
"You don't need to believe me. I don't need your approval to get to work. Now that the plague is spreading, those people you sent to inform your friend that we're here... will die," said Jonathan, who watched as the guards tried to open the auditorium doors—only to find blood.
The auditorium door was releasing a massive amount of blood, terrifying the security guards who had only come to release those trapped in the elevator.
"What is that...?"
Frederick stopped looking at Jonathan and turned his gaze to the camera showing the guards backing away from the door. Everyone could see the blood pouring out more and more excessively.
"It's too late. We'll proceed with the direct elimination plan, regardless of the casualties we may have to incur," Jonathan said. The people behind him pulled the charging handles on their rifles, put on special masks that covered their faces and ears, and began to exit the monitoring room.
Everyone was stunned. Were these people really planning to kill those in the auditorium?
Jonathan turned around, walked over to the security officer, and said, "Order everyone in this building from the fifth floor down to gather in the lobby. The rest must stay where they are for their own safety."
The situation was more serious than Jonathan had expected, so he immediately reported to The Healing Church headquarters: "This is Jonathan Belmont. We're dealing with a possible full embodiment of an unidentified demon. We are initiating a cleansing operation and request reinforcements in case of an unexpected breach."
Ignoring those around him, he looked at the guard who understood what Jonathan was doing and cooperated—unlike his colleague.
"Wait, what nonsense are you talking about?" Frederick wanted to understand, but he knew how absurd this all sounded.
But in that moment, completely unexpectedly, one of the security guards seen on the monitors, who had touched the blood coming from the elevator door, suddenly stopped. His eyes turned pitch black, and when a colleague approached him, he grabbed him by the neck.
"Ahhhhhh!"
Frederick watched in horror as, seconds later, the infected man ripped the jaw off his coworker's face.
"What the hell…"
"In God's name, what was that?"
Jonathan didn't need to watch any longer. He walked toward the exit where his team was waiting, and after placing a barrier around the building, he climbed the stairs.
Frederick, who had watched Jonathan leave with the others, decided to follow him, along with his silent personal bodyguard.
"Let me come with you. I can help…"
Jonathan shook his head and said, "You're not prepared to see what we're about to face."
"I won't interfere. I just want to understand what's going on in this chaos," said Frederick, as someone tried to hold him back.
Raj looked at Jonathan and said, "Sir, I'll watch over him."
Jonathan sighed, nodded, and quickly ascended the stairs until he reached the hallway where most of the firefighters were behaving strangely.
Looking at the blood-covered security guards, many of the agents from the healing forces broke into a cold sweat and raised their rifles, ready to fire at any moment.
"Human, if you leave this place, I promise I won't kill anyone other than the cursed ones in the auditorium. Do we have a deal?"
Jonathan stepped forward, stared at the firefighter with pitch-black eyes, and said, "I don't make deals with darkness. Today, I'll kill you."
Frederick, standing behind, murmured, "Seems like a fair deal to me…"
