By the time Draconis made it back to Kuoh Academy, noon was just around the corner. He headed straight for the club room, not bothering with lunch.

He'd barely settled in when Rias arrived, flanked by Akeno Himejima and Koneko Toujou.

"Ara, you're back already?" Akeno greeted, her smile as warm as ever.

"Just got in," Draconis replied, nodding. He turned to Rias. "President, the contract went through—I pulled it off."

Rias's lips curled into a knowing smile. "I already heard. I've been keeping tabs on you, you know."

"Oh?"

"Well, you signed a Faith Contract with a celebrity. That means she trusts you—she's genuinely satisfied." Her eyes sparkled with approval.

Koneko chimed in, voice soft but sincere. "First contract and it's a Faith Contract… Draconis is really impressive."

He blinked, a little lost. "Faith Contract?"

Akeno laughed, teasing. "Ara ara, so you don't know? Most contracts between devils and humans are just basic deals—the benefits for us are pretty minor."

Rias picked up the thread. "Exactly. Only when a human and a devil form a truly close bond can a Faith Contract happen. The rewards are much greater—enough to give a devil a major boost."

She shot Draconis a sly look. "I'm guessing you've already felt the difference?"

It all clicked for Draconis. No wonder his magic had skyrocketed after the ritual—it was thanks to this Faith Contract. He couldn't help but want more.

"So… how do I get more of these contracts?"

Akeno gave him a gentle reality check. "They're rare. People have to be deeply loyal and dependent on you. And humans? Well, they're not exactly known for being steady."

She smiled. "But you lucked into one already. Just make sure you keep that trust alive."

Draconis nodded. "Got it." He wasn't discouraged; knowing the rules was half the battle. The rest was up to fate.

Rias settled onto the sofa, eyes half-closed in lazy contentment. "Now that you've signed your contract, it's time to think about familiars. The student council might give us some trouble."

Draconis perked up. "Trouble?"

Akeno explained, "Sona Sitri—the student council president—is a High-Class Devil like Rias. She's found a new Pawn, so she'll be joining the familiar forest hunt too."

Student council president, huh? Draconis recalled how Rias had simply notified the council before recruiting him. The relationship seemed friendly enough—so why did Rias look so tense?

"…Is there going to be competition?"

"Of course," Rias said, hands spread in mock exasperation. "The best familiars are limited. If we want the top picks, we'll have to fight for them. Sona's not about to let us walk away with the prize."

"So what's the plan?"

Rias grinned. "We talked it over. This Friday, we'll settle it with a little contest—winner gets first dibs on the familiar forest."

Draconis's eyes narrowed. "A Rating Game?"

She waved him off. "Nothing that serious. Just some friendly matches—tennis, long-distance running, that sort of thing."

But Draconis saw the glint in her eyes. Rias was fired up, practically itching for a challenge.

He stifled a laugh. If sports were all it took to settle things between devils, maybe life here wouldn't be so bad.

The rest of the afternoon passed in a blur. When classes ended, club members regrouped for their evening tasks.

Inside the club room, Rias was showering, the thin curtain barely concealing her striking silhouette. Outside, Akeno waited with Rias's clothes, while Koneko lounged on the sofa.

Draconis entered, handing Koneko a box of sweets he'd picked up on the way.

"Thank you…" she murmured, eyes lighting up. Draconis knew she loved snacks—just a small gesture, but it always made her happy.

"Is Draconis here?" Rias called from behind the curtain.

"It's me, President. Anything you need?" he replied, glancing toward the bathroom.

Through the haze of steam and the flimsy curtain, he could just make out Rias's form beneath the shower. Her curves were mesmerizing—almost too perfect.

Rias didn't seem to care that she was on full display. She wrapped herself in a bathrobe, gathered her damp crimson hair behind her, tied the sash loosely, and walked out barefoot.

"Help me with my hair," she said, settling in front of Draconis and turning her back to him.

Akeno handed him the blow dryer. As Draconis worked through Rias's fiery locks, the subtle scent of her shampoo drifted up, fresh and sweet.

Rias leaned back, completely at ease. "Koneko picked up two requests today. Can you handle one for her?"

Draconis nodded. "Happy to help."

"Talk with Koneko about the details, then."

Koneko offered a quiet thank you. Draconis couldn't help but marvel—Koneko had more contracts than she could handle, while he'd spent days chasing just one.

He'd have to step up his game.

When he spoke with Koneko about her client's wish, the answer floored him: all they wanted was someone to play video games with.

Draconis stared, speechless. That's it? Koneko could sign a contract just by gaming?

He thought back to his own ordeal—days of effort, emotional drama, and a relationship on the line. It almost felt unfair.

Well, at least he'd landed Mai as a girlfriend. Not a bad trade.

With a sigh, Draconis stepped onto the teleportation circle, vanishing in a flash of magic.

But the instant he arrived at his summoner's location, every instinct screamed at him.

Killing intent.
